Golovkin slams 'clown' Alvarez after heated weigh-in
https://s.yimg.com/bt/api/res/1.2/kZ...c871c89cc5348f
Gennady Golovkin labelled Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez a "clown" after a heated weigh-in on Friday.
After both made weight, Alvarez rushed at Golovkin for the traditional stare down, briefly putting his forehead against the unfazed Kazakh's.
Golovkin (38-0-1) will defend his WBA (Super), WBC and IBO middleweight titles at T-Mobile Arena in a rematch of their drawn fight from a year ago.
The 36-year-old hit out at Alvarez's antics at the weigh-in, promising a "war" on Saturday.
"I saw he is like a clown, he is like a showman, he is not a true guy," Golovkin said.
"Tomorrow, you'll see a real war. This is not a fight, this is not a regular fight, [it's] like a special war."
Alvarez (49-1-2) is fighting for the first time since facing Golovkin a year ago, having served a six-month drugs ban.
The Mexican accepted he got slightly carried away at the weigh-in, saying: "Look, I got excited from seeing all the fans and it motivated me to do that right now.
"I defeated him at the weigh-in, now it's time for me to defeat him on Saturday."

Re: Golovkin v Canelo 2 CONFIRMED
I question Canelo's sanity: 'I defeated him at the weigh in'. You fell off your chair and acted like a tool. For the sake of decency knock this guy the fuck out. He is horrible for boxing. As is fishnets.

Re: Golovkin v Canelo 2 CONFIRMED
Can not remember a fighter so hated, despised or people wanted to see lose as much as Canelo.

Will you get your head out of the 1960's!
I know fighters like Eubank and Floyd made a living out of people watching their fights to see them lose but this is much different.

Re: Golovkin v Canelo 2 CONFIRMED
My mate has just invited himself round to mine, I've had to let him know in no uncertain terms that there will be no drinking because I am watching the villa at 5:30pm and then I'm staying up for the fight.
No doubt he will try and get me to have a drink but there is no chance of it happening today, he can come round and sit quietly in the corner but he ain't disrupting my plans

Nah no chance, I actually went out last night and drank like a normal human being, only had 6 pints of Stella all night.
It's pretty shit staying sober when you go out.

Canelo can't think for himself and he has Oscar's hand jammed so far up his chuff that he'll accept anything Oscar has to say because it makes him feel better about himself. It also feels like he gets off on talking smack in the moment when his opponent and the announcers can't understand him or call him on it.

Re: Golovkin v Canelo 2 CONFIRMED
Yes, Canelo is a protected, connected, cheating bully and a wanker ...... but he's also a very good fighter
-
Re: Golovkin v Canelo 2 CONFIRMED
He is, X. No disputing that he's a very good fighter.
That being said, I'm hoping/begging for a KTFO, KOOTY candidate, highlight reel shit.

Re: Golovkin v Canelo 2 CONFIRMED
Me too, I am fervently hoping for a conclusive, controversy free stoppage for GGG.
I never like the 'golden boy' types, I don't approve of his blatant manipulation of weight limits and early weigh ins. I do not like Oscar de la Hoys or Bernard Hopkins. I don't like the way they have conducted themselves during both sets of negotiations.
I don't agree with the tiny 6 month slap-on-the-wrist suspension that did not inconvenience Alvarez one jot. I find it hard to believe that an international athlete, who is aware of contaminated meat in Mexico, and whose trainers are also butchers can gain and lose weight so easily compared to his opponents.
Alvarez was built like a chunk of rock, now he is much more lithe. Funny that.
Boxing has a way of cheating us, so I see more controversy.

I said after the draw in the first fight that it was actually more of an injustice to Canelo. He fought is good fight and gave GGG some trouble. He proved that he was legit, but the controversy with the decision made us lose focus on how well Canelo did.
With that said, he is a cheat and I have no respect for him.

VIDEO has emerged that appears to show Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez collapsing at the weigh-in ahead of his blockbuster rematch with Gennady Golovkin.
The alarming footage was spread around social media ahead of the Las Vegas mega-fight.
The video, taken after the weigh-in, shows Canelo standing in front of a camera, before seemingly losing his balance and slumping into a chair.
It's impossible to tell if Canelo has actually fainted or just lost his balance and fell backwards, with the camera immediately cutting away.
Some viewers have pointed to the way a trainer was holding Canelo's face and the way he seemed to be vacantly staring.
It is not clear what actually happened, with Canelo's camp releasing no statement so far.
The pair are set to fight in Vegas on Saturday night in a rematch of their controversial draw from a year ago.
Since that fight, Canelo has twice been found to have banned substance Clenbuterol in his system.
He later served a drugs ban.
The pair went head-t0-head in a fiery press conference on Friday night - Canelo squaring up to the Kazakh brawler.
Golovkin said it will be worth the wait when the pair finally step into the ring for a rematch.
He said: "This is like a big gift for boxing fans.

Precisely. I figured he would win a decision the first time, but now I’m picking GGG by decision with a knockdown along the way. Canelo ain’t on the juice anymore n he wasn’t able to really hurt ggg when he was.

Canelo also nearly fell off his chair and tried too hard at the weigh in. I think he will lose his head in the fight.

Re: Golovkin v Canelo 2 CONFIRMED
Also looking forward to O'Sullivan vs Lemieux.
-
Re: Golovkin v Canelo 2 CONFIRMED
What's happened to diego de la Hoya he used to always be on these undercard, he was fun to watch.
-
Re: Golovkin v Canelo 2 CONFIRMED
As I said in the first fight GGG has to stay busy. If not then Canelo will control the pace of the fight. It would be smart for Canelo to move and counter. I picked Canelo in the first fight and I'm sticking with him.

Re: Golovkin v Canelo 2 CONFIRMED
Under undercard has started streaming on ring tv.com
Undefeated Alexis Rochas v some git called Cervantes. .. geezer with a Russian name won the first fight
-
Re: Golovkin v Canelo 2 CONFIRMED
Rochas seems to be winning the first few rounds 2-0 Cervantes doesn't seem to be a plum though. Rochas hlanding some good body shots and switching to the head we too.. very nice two pnches there in the third round.
-
Re: Golovkin v Canelo 2 CONFIRMED
Couple of Mexican women presenting in a studio, master would approve..
Oh yeah and Rochas is winning 3-0
-
Re: Golovkin v Canelo 2 CONFIRMED
Ah nice Rocha is landing left hook to his body then whacks him with a good right a few times now, I think Rocha will be disappointed if he doesn't get a stoppage here... scorecards irrelevant Rocha winning easy
-
Re: Golovkin v Canelo 2 CONFIRMED
Rocha has slowed down quite a bit the last two rounds, looks like he might be out of ideas :S.. shame as he landed some good short combos in the previous rounds, he doesn't look especially tired but he is 21 and never gone 8 rounds so maybe he is a king it easy to gain rounds...

https://mobile.twitter.com/cynthia_conte?lang=en
This is one of them..
Rocha won all rounds I think, he doesn't look spectacular but whatever he should go on to have a fairly good career, good fight for him at this age v a taller southpaw he clearly wasn't terrible. .. rocha got jabbed a lot and a bloody nose

Re: Golovkin v Canelo 2 CONFIRMED
