That is very reasonable, and in theory I believe you. Lets look at what you do believe now that you've told us what you don't believe.
Big bang theory?
Evolution meaning change in species, not change within a species?
So where are the facts to support the existence of your "god"? First of all define what you mean by god and then show me the facts to support the existence of god. The Bible proves the existence of god in exactly the same way as the Lord of the Rings books proves the existence of Sauron. It doesnt convince me in the slightest. If you can convince me otherwise then im all ears...
Well you didn't answer my 2 questions, but here goes.
I define God as the originator of all things. Everything that we see and don't see was made by the creator. That's my definition for this discussion. Facts to support the existence of a creator are everything that you see in your daily life. Highly complex, self repairing, self replicating life forms. You don't believe that the computer your typing on sprang into existence by random chance, why would you think humans did when they are literally hundreds of times more complex than your computer?
Your turn.
Do you believe in the big bang theory?
Do you believe in evolution as change in species?
You are right, I didnt answer those 2 questions. I wasnt being ignorant, just suffering from jet lag and time boundaries kicking into me! :-\
On the knowledge that I have, then yes, I believe in big bang theory. I know earth is not sat atop a big fat turtle and I know the earth is not the centre of the universe....my rationale for the big bang theory comes from a gradual evolution of recordable scientific data
Do I believe in evolution as change in species? Im a little confused by the meaning of the question. Can you be more specific? I dont want to make a faux pas by making a rash response to a question im not too sure that I know the meaning of entirely. I believe in evolution on the limited knowledge that I have.
Re: Creation and evolution aside,
I don't wanna hear about your jet lag, just turned 21 last saturday
Vomited 16 times, damn alcohol poisoning :(

Evolution as change in species means dinosaurs into birds, progression from one type into another. As opposed to varations that occur within a species. I believe that dogs can interbreed, adapt, etc into another type of dog, but no matter how many times you crossbreed them they won't turn into a cat or other species.... Do you believe that all life evolved from one single celled life form and eventually adapted and changed into the varieties we see now?
Are you very knowledgable about the big bang theory, or do you have a general understanding? For example many people have an opinion about the Bible. They say...i've never read it, but i've heard about it and I do or don't believe it.
Do you have a working knowledge of the specifics about the big bang theory or do you have a general understanding from basic elements you heard years ago in school? I am asking so I know where to start, and not be overly technical or overly basic.

Here's some evidence for you the Bible is true......
Who hath woe? who hath sorrow? who hath contentions? who hath babbling? who hath wounds without cause? who hath redness of eyes? They that tarry long at the wine; they that go to seek mixed wine. Look not thou upon the wine when it is red, when it giveth his colour in the cup, [when] it moveth itself aright. At the last it biteth like a serpent, and stingeth like an adder.
Thine eyes shall behold strange women, and thine heart shall utter perverse things. Yea, thou shalt be as he that lieth down in the midst of the sea, or as he that lieth upon the top of a mast. They have stricken me, [shalt thou say, and] I was not sick; they have beaten me, [and] I felt [it] not: when shall I awake? I will seek it yet again.

Re: Creation and evolution aside,
It was my friend, but the last thing I remember was this real cute chick that I've been crushing on for a while came up to me - I started talking to her but it was at that point I was too drunk to know exactly what was being said. Haven't talked to her since, probably don't want to either O0

Right, I now understand your question regarding evolution. Yes, I believe life originated and evolved from single celled forms.
I have a general understanding of the big bang theory. My field is not science but that does not mean I dont have the ability to dip my fingers into it or understand concepts. Does anyone have a real working knowledge of the big bang? After all, It is just a theory. But we have data supporting the theaory behind the big bang..
We will be debating the merits of string theory next and even now many important physicists are debunking it.
Theories are mere theories until proving otherwise...
But recordable data can support those theories....or prove otherwise...

Actually in korea ive become accustomed to just drinking at my pace. Which is quite slow these days, but over a longer time...
I went back home and we all buy rounds of beers and they all drink a pint every 15 minutes....that was the toughest part of going back home...just drinking the beer at those speeds!! ;D
It goes straight through you and you always have a new pint in front of you! I wont go home for another year!! ;D :-\

Sounds like you are a fast learner.... Took me about 12 years to decide it really wasn't worth it.....

Re: Creation and evolution aside,
Miles,
First question...
Where did all of the matter to form the universe come from?
The law of conservation of energy states that energy cannot be created or destroyed. While it can be transformed from one form to another, the total amount of energy in the universe remains constant. Scientists in all fields, including astronomy, biology, chemistry, physics, and Earth science use this idea every day: The total amount of energy remains constant no matter what changes happen in any physical system.

Science has made a lot of developments for explaining the world in the last few hundred years. What has religious scripture really advanced? The further continuence of old wives tales?
Science is not yet ready to explain the creation of the universe but then again the bible has never been able to do so either. Science continues to evolve and let us understand more fully. The bible remains frozen in time.
It sounds a bit harsh perhaps but maybe there is no god and perhaps the universe is godless...is that so hard to deal with? I dont think so, god plays no part in your daily life so why worry about the higher question that shows no sign of existing anyways?
You need a god in your life and others dont..if that makes you more content then so be it....
What is you definition of heaven? Im so, so intrigued! :)
