....well perhaps you need to see it to believe it...Sam was even hard pressed to win the rounds that he knocked Wlad down it.
Plus Sam Peter has only been warned/penalized for rabbit punching ONCE (vs James Toney)....rabbit punching can permenantly hurt or even kill boxers. Wladimir was hit behind the head for 2 knockdowns.
Holding might not add excitement to the fight but #1 it doesn't hurt people and #2 if John Ruiz hasn't been penalized for it then OBVIOUSLY Wlad's clinching shouldn't even be talked about

Just the fact that you have mention Wlad in the same sentence as Ruiz says it all. I mean c'mon, holding feather fisted Byrd!? If thats not cowardly, I don't know what is. I like what Wlad stands for outside the ring and that makes it difficult to root against him but I just couldn't call myself a fan anymore after he started fighting like he is less skilled than he really is. He should believe in himself and his skills as much as you do cause he probably really is that good but the problem is that he's not proving it by getting by on cheating. All fighters have strenths and weaknesses and obviously has more strengths than most HWs but when his opponents don't even get to take advantage of his weaknesses due to illegal tactics, then it's just not right and he should not get credit for it.
Re: Just another Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds Klitschko vs Brock
Jesus.....let me explain this to you Bx
John Ruiz is Public Enemy #1 when it comes to making boring fights because of clinching....Wladimir is NOWEHER NEAR as bad as Ruiz. I was contrasting them rather than comparing them. Ruiz does it WORSE than Wlad and he hasn't been penalized for it so why should Wlad (who holds LESS not more....LESS than Ruiz) get penalized first or more???
ALSO people always forget that EVANDER HOLYFIELD smothers guys on the inside all the time too and no one complains about that.....they complain about head butting.
are we done now? Honestly the more I hear about it the more I want Wladimir to just knock everyone the fuck out.....no one will be pleased though they'll be too busy saying the division sucks and making excuses.

I am aware of the ramifications of hitting behind the head...I despise that more than the low blow...I saw the fight, but its a matter of opinion guess
Re: Just another Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds Klitschko vs Brock
Yeah some say Wlad turned away from the punch, some say the punch was going to be behind the head anyways

On any account I am serious I hate hitting in the back of the head...I gasp anytime I see someone get caught with those shots, you can cause severe Trauma to the head and the base of the spine.....
On any account I am looking for ways to get Back on the Wlad train, nothing makes me feel better than to see a fighter that was regarded high then gets written off from a shaky peformance(In Wlads case a Few) only to comeback and be successful... ;)
Re: Just another Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds Klitschko vs Brock
I read these forums quite often but never post. You guys have such great discussions and analysis. I have to say that I like both fighters in this bout, but Pre-Manny Steward Wladimir Klitchko was the real deal. I think that if he shows up in a offensive frame of mind, Brock will be KO'd early.
Keep in mind what Brock said about Timor Ibragimov's power in that post fight interview. Wlad's speed, POWER, and technique are on another level IMO. I doubt Brock has the CHIN to beat Wlad.
Wlad win inside six rounds, and Wacko you are the man! (just love your posts)

Agreed...Pre-Manny Klit was the real deal. Totally agree there.

Agreed again. I think that this is like leading a lamb to a slaughter.

Agreed. I think he stops him just like he did Byrd.
Thanks for the love babe. Much appreciated. Welcome home. ;)
Re: Just another Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds Klitschko vs Brock
The Pre Manny Wlad was one dimensional...he didn't know what to do when he got hit and he didn't spend enough time in the ring in training.
He was still super talented, I think now he is more patient but also more confident. When Peter knocked him down he didn't panic, when Sanders knocked him down he did panic

Now I know that your'e the authority here on Wlad...& I don't mean that smart assed like it sounds...but I totally disagree.
I've now logged in about 24 - 25 fights of his & I have to totally disagree with you.
He was raw...YES...but not one dimensional by any means.
One man that didn't think so was Lewis. I still stick to my opinion that Lewis was scared of Wlad & with good reason. IWO, Lewis was one of the true students of the game. He studied his opponants & he was very very analitical of them.
Calling Sanders up & giving him the winning stroke against Wlad...says much.
I really really am surprised that you think he was a 1-D fighter...I just don't see it.
Again...not being a smart ass...I'm just shocked that you think so.

Again...as much as I hate to...I disagree again. He does seem a bit more patient...but I aint sure that he's more confident. He didn't panic against Peter...but he did against Williamson.
I just don't know...I also aint so sure that I like the idea of Manny making him his new Lewis...but hey...if it works...& he dominates...I'm fine with being wrong.
Re: Just another Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds Klitschko vs Brock
Well Wacko it's quite simple....his offense as awesome as it is, under Fritz Sdunek was his best weapon but his greatest enemy....he had Vargas disease, he was in love with punching, always punching and if someone could weather the storm they had a shot at beating him.
I don't think his chin is that bad but I think his lack of sparring in previous years made him panic because he never got hit before and when you're infront of thousands of people oohing and aahing about you getting hit it makes you think about it and maybe you're more hurt because of that.
Manny has had to work a lot with Wlad and the more sparring he does the more he knows: how to take a punch, how to pace himself, how to fight tired, what to do when hurt, etc.
Williamson was a weird fight, I don't think he really got worried about Davaryl....I think he was frustrated because TOS was running away and fighting scared and it was hard to go about attacking him when TOS was so worried....the headbutt was probably the best thing that could have come of that fight. And the knockdown, he got caught off balance simple as that, he got back up.
As a guy who has been rocked in the ring I can tell you, it's not the punch that really hurts you, it's the worry about it. Your adrenaline gets pumping and you get a little loopy and don't think straight......but it happens again and it's easier to deal with.
Manny Steward is a Hall of Fame trainer, he's coached a number of guys with a number of different styles but his best work is with tall, lanky guys, with good power and fast hands. Tommy Hearns, Lennox Lewis, and Wladimir Klitschko. You never need to worry when he's training someone and that's a FACT. I think he's one of the rare trainers that always gives the right advice, he doesn't lie to his fighters, he calms them down, tells them what they are doing good and what the plan is for the next round and his experience in itself should be very reassuring to a fighter.....I'd listen to him
Re: Just another Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds Klitschko vs Brock
Also Wacko you must realize with Vitali, the USSR basketball power forwards and centers used to come in a spar with him and Vitali had to just do defense so Vitali knew what to expect when he got cracked on the jaw....Wlad didn't get that kind of experience and I think it hurt him
Q: How can you have brothers and 1 guy have such a good chin and the other have such a bad one?
A: 50% genetics and 50% environment...Vitali got treated differently and so there is the reason
Re: Just another Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds Klitschko vs Brock
Wlad will win in two rounds!
Re: Just another Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds Klitschko vs Brock
Soon as he get's his range...BOOM....Lights OUT ;)
Does Brock know the meaning of the word Training :-\
Looks badly out of shape
Re: Just another Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds Klitschko vs Brock
Actually Brock is in decent shape, he's just got a different frame.
Brock heavyest weight 238 (7th career fight), lightest 218 (24th career fight vs McCline)
Wlad heavyest weight 246 (vs Derrick Jefferson), lightest 220 first career fight
But yeah Wlad will find range and drop the steelhammer on Calvin
