Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds: The Cotto & Miranda Sho
Urkal is no Corley. At least I don't think. And even if he is, Cotto is a changed fighter. Loved his boxing versus Quintana it was absolutely beautiful. I don't think any one fighter has impressed me so much since Klitschko beat Peter.
Awesome display of skill and showed thorough improvement. And he hits pretty hard too 8)
I would be blown away if Urkal had any success in this one.

Apparently it doesn't take much to impress you then. ;D ;)

Klitschko beat the most worthy contender in the division and he got up off the canvas. Answered all the questions I had about him going in like stamina and heart.

Yes, he ran, held, and boxed his way to a decision while being knocked on his ass three times against a raw, green, one dimensional, right handed slugger. I admit Klitschko surprised me some that night. But I was more disapointed with Peter than anything else.

Peter is my favorite fighter behind Wright and Lacy. He gave it his all. Would have liked some more activity in the middle rounds but I felt good after that fight. Knew the heavyweight division was in good hands. Can't wait for those two to rematch.

Neither can I. That will be the fight to decide who is the HW champion of the world. I think Peter has improved quite a bit with his boxing since the first fight, and I believe he should be able to beat Wlad this time. Put him down, and keep him down. But if he can't, he oughta just fukin retire. I know he wouldn't retire, but seriously...

If he can't beat the best HW in the world he should retire? Come on Hulk...you're a Mayorga fan ;D
I think both fighters will have a lot to offer the division for many years to come.
Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds: The Cotto & Miranda Show
It's almost unfathomable to me that Cotto could lose...but what if Green comes out & blasts Miranda senseless?
What would that do for Miranda?
Would everyone jump ship?
Thoughts?
You can apply the same questions to Cotto if you like...but I think that's a highly unlikely situation.

I think yes, people would jump ship. Not that that's the way it should be but you know as well as anyone that it happens all the time.. Same ppl who were praising Miranda as the next big thing will wait a few weeks to post anything much on the matter, then soon start with the "oh he was way overrated anyways". Which I honestly believe he is, but Im saying it before the fight. I actually picked Green to win, probably won't happen but I have a feeling that it's going to be a lot more of a fight than many people are making it out to be. Could be totally wrong, we know Green is capable of being hurt rather easily, so Miranda could get the KO at any time don't get me wrong. But I think Green may be able to outbox him as well as put some hurt on him.. Who knows, I could definetly be swayed as to my opinion of both guys, just depends how the fight turns out.. I say I feel Miranda is overrated, but at the same time, I think he has a good shot to beat about anyone at middleweight besides Taylor or Wright, and he'd have a fair chance to beat Jermain imo. And yes the same thing applies to Cotto if Urkal were to win, people would definetly jump ship, but like you say, that's a slim to none chance right there, and if Cotto were to lose he would have to be less of a fighter than most think, including myself... THat would be like asking if Calzaghe were to lose to Manfredo would people jump ship.. Of course, and with good reason.
Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds: The Cotto & Miranda Sho
If Green blasts through Miranda,I'd still like him and I'd still expect him to give any other guy at the weight hell! I want to see him rematch Abraham on NEUTRAL GROUND SO BAD!!!
Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds: The Cotto & Miranda Show
I doubt that Green is going to do what he did to Jaidon Codrington to Edison Miranda. I see Miranda havin some trouble early maybe, then nailing Green with a good right hand, turning Green's legs to spaghetti and then finishing him. BUT Green is a pretty good boxer, fast too, and he can punch. It is possible that he outboxes Miranda or stops him late. I'm goin with Miranda by KO though, hes a very hungry fighter with devastating power.
Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds: The Cotto & Miranda Show
I think that Miranda/Green is going to be a very exciting back and forth battle while it lasts. We have seen Miranda get his bell rung by legit fighters and come back fine. We have also seen Green get his bell rung by a B level fighter, he came back fine but still got rung up by a B level fighter. That is what sways me to think that Miranda is going to get the KO. I feel that Miranda will stand up and recover better from Green's shots than Green will to Miranda's.
Green will outbox him for the first few rounds but then Miranda is going to catch him and either finish him right there or a round or two later.
Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds: The Cotto & Miranda Show
Rocky Juarez was dropped and almost stoped my Joe Morales(no punching power) but hung tough with Barerra because he improved. green has become a better fighter since that fight and Miranda has become a better fighter since the Eastman fight. Green has all the tools but Miranda has all the power. But skill beats power if Green is as good as he's been, and Green is going to be the nautrally bigger fighter.
Green wins this late.
Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds: The Cotto & Miranda Show
I'm going with Cotto by KO.

:coolclick: my thweet thugar puth...but the fact remains...for all his tools...& his minor adjustments...not improvments...Green has never faced anyone as strong or willed as Miranda...Green has faltered to much lesser opposition.
Miranda has been in with Eastman & Abraham...& that speaks better than Greens.
But...you could be right...and you are back...so...hence the submission...& the click. :-*
