most definitely i agree. Toney and Jones would have destroyed Joe and his "bollocks" whatever that means. And Jones would have had a much, much tougher time with Toney in that 1994(?) showdown had James Toney not lost nearly forty pounds in two weeks leading up to it. At light heavy I think James Toney would have taken him. But yeah, ur right either way about this Calzaghe dude. dont get me wrong he's a real good fighter who has beaten a lot of mediocre opponents (in Lacy, he beat another real good fighter, but that really is it. i guess chris Eubanks was pretty decent but he was old by then), but a legend that can be compared to a Roy Jones or a James "Lights Out" Toney? Not by a long shot.Quote:

no i didnt think so lol
Eubank, Mitchell and Brewer were all old fighters by the time Calzcrappy beat them. Veit was never any good. And Bika and Miekirchan are not underrated. They just fucking suck. Damn these Calzcrappy groupies. They just fucking ignore the facts.Quote:

At 10/1 im gunna have a bet on Manfredo because upsets do happen and he looked good in his last 2 fights loads better than in the contender series and i know Pemberton and Spina are'nt in same class as Calzaghe but you never know. I was gunna go to wales and watch it theirs meant to be 30,000 people their but i did'nt fancy been the only one shouting for Peter and having 29,999 welsh blokes kicking me in.Quote:

1 good win in ten year is'nt good enoughQuote:

andrade oh so what your saying is he shouldnt risk it on underfeated prospect but should risk it on peter manfredo who lost on reality tv show to club fighter ::**
winky wright has beaten shane mosley twice felix trinidad a draw against underfeated and considered best middleweight at moment winky has fought much much better opponents than calzaghe
Can I just ask what risks Bernard Hopkins or Roy Jones Jnr took during their primes?
I reckon I can name a lot more people that both of them should have fought and didn't that anybody can name that Calzaghe should've fought and didn't ;)
ill do list for you mateQuote:

all of these fights were risks
bernard hopkins
howard eastman
felix trinidad 40-0 at that time
oscar dela hoya
all risky fights
hopkins may of not had as many risky fights but eastman trinidad and oscar are twice as good as calzaghe opponents shame calzaghe wernt born few years later he would of been in era of benn eubank collins
but i will say this calzaghe was bit unlucky aswell to be fair i mean he offered hopkins fight and he priced himself out and then he was going to fight steve collins and he pulled out due to injury
Joe is 2nd best supermiddle now in my opinion Kesslers number 1 he's doing more than Joe and he wants to fight Joe and as done for a while Joe has to step up Kessler is 10 times better than Lacy. His last 3 fights have been top opposition aswell Mundine UD12,Lucas TKO10 and Beyer KO3 and next he's fighting Andrade who is a dangerous kid 24-0 compare that to what joe's been fighting and Kessler has to be number 1
Give it a few months and I might agree with you, Joe is holding on to top spot by the skin of his teeth. That said Beyer was cooked and Lucas was always average. Fair play to him for going over to Oz and beating Mundine handily though, Mundine is apparently really good now?
