Agreed about the commentators, but I LOVE hearing the Sky team call a fight when there isn't a British fighter involved.
Why? They don't know jack shit about boxing. Try and get a copy of Jacobs vs. Pirog. I said to my friends who were watching that with me that I feared for Jacobs and felt he was going to get KO'ed. They banged on about how Jacobs was 'the man' and didn't seem to know who Pirog was. I think they thought his record was as padded as Dimitriy Salita's! I wish we had HBO in the UK. I'd take Jim Lampley over the likes of Dave Clark and Adam Smith any day of the week.
Also with Sky - Fucking Jim Watt. He scores a foreign fight wrong...hears how Lederman has it for HBO, and then tries to even out his scorecard so it looks like he knows what he's talking about. The best thing Sky have done is employ Barry McGuigan. Nobody tells is like Barry!

HMMM a little bit yes now that I think about it but at least you have Tarver who puts in some decent commenttary about him while doing so he does always mention that there is work to be done and he more or less praises the grit he has shown as of late SHO announcers will at least add in some criticisim to their commentary HBO just talks about their gu8ys fighting on water etc

...but I truly resent David Haye for not doing what's needed to provide us boxing fans with the only HW fight worthy of interest in recent years. Yo Haye... YOU'RE the challenger.... YOU'RE the one who needs to remove the championship from Wlad... QUIT PUSSYING AROUND AND GET THE FIGHT DONE!!!! Do what Mr. T did to Rocky. He insulted him and goaded him until Rocky had no choice BUT to give Mr. T (or whatever his name was) a shot.
I'm sorry for all the well-meaning Haye fans out there. But this has gone on too long, and will probably never happen. And the HW division needs a good fight that will create some public interest. I don't get it?? When was the last time my country had a decent heavyweight? Wlad/Vitalli are Russian or Eastern Block chaps who fights in Germany.
I dislike Haye, but that has nothing to do with his nationality. I liked Lennox Lewis and think he is one of the better HWs of all time. I like Ricky Hatton. In fact I have liked many British and Foreign fighters.
It is you blind nationalist who think because someone doesn't like Amir or Haye that they are tossers. It couldn't possibly be because they are totally unlikeable fighters?
In fact, my hatred for Haye is completely rational.....so I guess I shouldn't even be discussing it here. ;)
