Seriously????
im pretty sure floyd be subject to the same tests so this is no excuse
I agree with your sentiments and those of KS above. There is nothing ludicrous about wanting an opponent checked out thoroughly. This is a sport where brains get bashed about, it is far more serious than other sports. If a full check is wanted then it must be adhered to. If both men are doing it then neither is placed at a disadvantage.
Latest Report, Pac-man Mayweather called off
Latest report from E.S.P.N. is that the megafight has been called off. Why am I not suprised.
Re: Pacquiao-Mayweather in jeopardy...
So what if Floyd is subjected to the same test.. Everyone doesn't react the same... In addition to that, it was his idea which says to me, he isn't effected at all by blood tests.
This is all a psychological game "money" is playing and I really don't think Floyd believes even a juiced up manny could beat him... Floyd is trying to be bigger then the sport, it is not his responsibility to have his opponent drug tested above and beyond what the sport has been doing for years... In addition to that why wait until all the contracts were good to go and everything that actually related to the rules of the fight were agreed upon to make such a rediculous request?
This is so stupid..
Re: Latest Report, Pac-man Mayweather called off
I know i'm commenting on my own thread here but the latest report is that this blood test is going to be at random. Which basically means that they can come in at 4 a.m. the night before the fight and take a blood sample. This is according to Dan Rafael of e.s.p.n. This is the reason why Pac-man is fighting this, again according to e.s.p.n.

I understand what you are saying Miles, but how can this be the first fight in the history of the sport to be subjected to this type of testing... Are we now saying the current drug screening is not suitable and we now have to take blood tests in the middle of your training and the night of the fight? If that is done for this fight, why not every single professional fight in the world??? Are they any less important???

You cannot be reasoned with.
We are going to be denied the defining fight of our generation because PAC won't take a drug test.
Re: Latest Report, Pac-man Mayweather called off
I dont blame him and I think it will be worked out once Floyd sees that the drug tests that can be done will be sufficient to uncover any foul play.
They will agree on the times in which it can be taken.

first of all how does floyd know that pac is even affected by a test... how do you ?
and it is his responsibility to prevent damage to himself and his career if he is fighting a 'potential' drugs cheat
Re: Latest Report, Pac-man Mayweather called off
After a little research it sounds like Roaches red blood cell count argument has some merit. Take the blood before the the 8 weeks prior to the fight, then do the regular drug tests that have been sufficient for everyone else. This will be Floyds fault if this thing falls through. Or atleast it sounds like right now.

By anyone not being convince on their position does not mean they can't be reasoned with.. There is a level of agreeing to disagree... I could say the same about anyone feeling this type of testing is acceptible, but yet it has never been done before...

It's done in the Olympics. And it should be done for title fights as well.

I only know for myself, and i also trust PAC knows for himself...
If the tables were turned and PAC accused "Money" of being juiced and requested this type of testing, and then Floyed said No because he believes it would effect his performance. There would be Pac Fans saying he is scared and Floyd fans saying what i have been saying...
I just don't think any fighter has the right to control the drug screening process...
