I agree, I think that they should implement the 8 count first before stopping a fighter like that.

Heart and punching power, one hell of a fight. Rios has one hell of a chin.
Did Alvarado just say he's still the best in his weight? lmfao
It wasn't that bad of a stoppage to bring the camera on the ref... I would of liked a standing count but come on.. not this serious. Cortez has done waaaay more and still gets profile fights
Rios is pretty fuckin badass . What up yall !
Brandon Rios is a great fighter to watch and this was an epic fight, but i still can't forget how Richard Abril gave him a boxing lesson and was robbed.
The ref did Alvarez a favour. Alvarez was spent and even if he'd been given an eight count Rios was just going to steamroller over him whether it took a few more seconds or a round or two. Alvarez can (and has) claim it's a bad stoppage and he could have continued. Then in a couple of fights if/when Rios gets a 140 belt they can do it again and Alvarez will get a decent payday. If Alvarez had been properly flattened the rematch wouldn't be as attractive.
122 is frigging stacked to the ceiling! Santa Cruz is moving up too and its combustible. Love to see him fight Mares!
Awesome job by Pat Russell answering Max ":o" Kellerman. Mike was wooden there
Good night of Boxing so far, the main up next- Nonito Donaire vs. Toshiaki Nishioka, 12 rounds, for Donaire's WBO/IBF junior featherweight title.
I'm going to ride with Nishioka. I think Donaire is going to be surprised by the speed of Nishioka's straight left and his granite chin. The problem here is that he probably cant get the decision. I just hope tonight is not the night his age shows up.
Not to underestimate Nishioka, but I can't see him being a problem for Donaire.
Donaire by UD
Neither fighter doing much in the 1st round, and Nishioka doing next to nothing.
Nishioka must've been overly impressed by the Nonito KO of Montiel. He refuses to unglue the right hand from his cheek.
