Another fight night gone and the guy I wanted to win bites the dust. Life as a fight fan sucks, at times.
I didn't really pick Arreola but I was sure hoping he'd get the win.

Wlads mandatory is irrelevant to any unifying issues because it's his IBF title that's up and IBF actually pushes for unifying. It's in their rules that you can postpone mandatory defenses for unifying fights.
That's true but if I tighten my tin foil hat a bit I can see the WBC being devastated that Chris did not win. They could force a mandatory on him even though the fight for that position between Perez/Jennings is now off. So they could relegate Wilder as the mandatory or have him fight Thompson in an eliminator. If they go that route then a date can be attempted for Wlad. Or they could go with Jennings/Wilder but Jennings may overtrain waiting on Wilders camp. Its interesting and here are the WBC's rankings to show what I'm talking about. The fees they make in a Wlad fight would dwarf what they would make off any other title fight not involving Wlad. ()= ranking prior to April
1 (1) Bermane Stiverne (SILVER)
2 (2) Chris Arreola
3 (3) Deontay Wilder (AMERICA)
4 (4) Bryant Jennings
5 (5) Mike Perez (USNBC)
6 (15) Tony Thompson (INTL)
7 (6) Manuel Charr (INTL SILVER /BALTIC/CISBB)
8 (7) Dereck Chisora (EBU)
9 (12) Vyacheslav Glazkov
10 (8) Tyson Fury
11 (11) Lucas Browne
12 (13) Andy Ruiz (NABF)
13 (14) Carlos Takam
14 (10) Odlanier Solis
15 (9) Tomasz Adamek
I'm like 95% sure a Wilder fight was mandated for the winner after the Perez fight was canceled. But I'm sure they can be paid off in whatever way DK wants to go. Does Don think there's more money in holding onto the belt or a cash grab with Wlad? I'm interested to see which way it goes. Wlad really wants that belt so he'll probably make one hell of an offer.
King having an active portion of the heavyweight game once again is a nightmare scenario...any minute now he'll be greasing the palm of the wbc to rank Tony Tucker #1 ;D
It may be in name only, he'll try to tuck this thing under his pillow and milk it to death. I always have a cynical bone when 'made' title swaying fights fall through that close to a title fight. Wouldn't shock to see Jennings n Wilder and 'eliminator' but think it'll be Stiverne right away, prob some bs 90 day mandatory or strip. Wlad vs Pulev is made and distant...it'll kick off before that for sure. No way they'll put Arreola back in the immediate mix, can't see it and frankly don't need it.
haye v stiverne... wait and see :S
It was a nice shot.

Chris is a waste of space i really hated how Max built him up as so much guy can't fucking adjust in rematch to a punch that owned him the first time around. Well the Mexican butter bean has lost to any one that was good that he has faced yea he really wreck Spinks and Holmes alright Max.
So @Max Power will you finally admit you are a dumb shit who knows fuck all about boxing and you leave this site in shame as you are an embarrassment to Australians everywhere? Or not? :)
There were some really brutal shots exchanged there. There's nothing in Boxing like Heavyweight power. One man's dream comes true, and the other man's dream is shattered...again. What a battle.
Well at least the Mexican butterbean made 100,000 so he can have all the cheeseburgers he wants now. I really never want to hear his name mention same breath as Holmes or Spinks again though what a fucking joke that was. Anyhow I guess the ko was pretty good anyway so that is good thing.
