The 2 fights I want to see because they are the 2 fights that prove most about the division. People can pretend and elevate alphabet titles or names. But if you want to see the best fight the best you want GGG vs Jacobs/Charlo.
Sidenote- completely possible BJS would beat Charlo. Difference between Charlo and BJS is Charlo has power in either hand that gives that element of unknown.
Re: Canelo fails drugs test
I agree. My first choice of a replacement opponent would be Charlo. Jacobs would be a good choice too because he fights the week before against a nobody and could easily cancel it. BJS could also be a good choice if his hand is better. I’m just nervous that with all of these good options, the fights will be cancelled and GGG will end up fighting a nobody.

But, even with higher levels I have a hard time believing Clenelo will be punished. Hope to be wrong but I don't have much faith in the system. In fact I'm so jaded by boxing I wonder if Clenelo failed on purpose to set up a fight 6 months later with GGG 6 months older. But that's full on tin foil hat theory.

Wellllll........... not so fast. I may be jaded as well, but nothing surprises me anymore, especially when done by proven cheaters and duckers.
Re: Canelo fails drugs test
The fight will go ahead. There's no way the Nevada athletic commission suspend him for the fight. They know who pays their wages.
Re: Canelo fails drugs test
It's not sounding good, the theatres that were set to screen the fight have removed all advertising as has HBO.

If a Canelo gets demolished and nobody sees it....did Canelo lose at all? :dontknow:
GGG is in a bad situation here, there are very capable fighters waiting for him, VERY capable and just looking bad harms his aura of invincibility.
Re: Canelo fails drugs test
Jacobs would be difficult in a rematch, Charlo is a difficult style, BJS is a tough style, Andrade is just a tough fighter though I worry he's waited too long to challenge the title holders.....there's not a lot of easy options for GGG and I think the guy honestly cares about being the best of the best so I don't think he'd want to look like he punked out of a fight either.
That said Canelo aint' going to be easy either especially if he's juiced which he'll have a little bit of a mental edge with GGG wondering "Is he clean now or is he still gassed?" only Canelo and his crew will know for certain.
For the good of boxing a GGG 1st round demolition of Canelo would be wonderful, but I fear we'll be waiting until the late rounds, maybe GGG stops him this time (lord I hope) but maybe Canelo lasts the distance again in which case those idiots on the Golden Boy payroll will get a do over on fucking the fans.

I agree. GGG was a great fighter but the MW division is getting better. He is older now and he has serious threats in the division. A few years ago he didn’t have any serious threats.

When was the last time Andrade looked good?

Depends. Do you think he has gotten better looking with age?
Re: Canelo fails drugs test
Andrade just hoping to get lucky an cash in.
It's funny how fans have such short memories, it wasn't that long ago that Jacobs was getting dropped by the Latin snake, Charlo's hardest fight I've seen I think was against Trout, so I'm not sure how he'd handle Jacobs. I'd probably pick Charlo to win that fight depending on how much Jacob's ballooned on fight night.
Re: Canelo fails drugs test
Looking back on it the fight ALL boxing fans missed out on was GGG vs Pirog. He had a very tiny prime but had he not severely fucked up his back Dmitry Pirog would have been a VERY difficult fight for GGG. Pirog seemingly had a hell of a chin and was quick, hard to hit, and lord how he handled Jacobs in that fight oooooof. What could have been man, what could have been.
Re: Canelo fails drugs test
Yea I think Pirog could have been the man to beat in the division, had his back not given out.
