It's impossible to explain, there are literally dozens and dozens of fighters more popular/marketable than him yet this is the second fight in a row he's took roughly a million quid. Bear in mind the entire Superfly card, which had at least double the ticket punters, cost that (yeah, i know the little guys do shit TV numbers and ticket prices vary and whatnot)

I actually had Truax winning 7-5 with the KD but it was a close fight. So much holding though.

I had Hurd winning by a point. Round 10 was a huge swing round for me that could have gone either way.

I've just watched the DeGale fight and the Lara fight

Both good scraps, DeGale doesn't have long left I don't think, he did well and the cut was causing him problems hence him trying out the orthodox stance which is something I can't remember seeing him do before (I could be wrong though) but regardless of that, he doesn't look the same fighter that he did a few years back, having said that I wouldn't be surprised if him and Truax had another fight and the decision went the other way next time, them pair will always just have scrappy close fights.

What the fuck was Bird doing taking a point off for the shoulder, fucking ridiculous that was, the best part of the fight was watching just how little attention Floyd was paying to it which was made all the more obvious by that silly big red hat he was wearing.

I was backing Lara before the fight started but Hurd was just so much bigger he bullied him and the knockdown in the last round made a huge different to the fight so there can't be any complaints, a split decision was more than fair.

The commentator on BoxNation done my fucking head in, how many times did he have to remind us that it was the first time the belts would have been unified since 2000, and I've never heard anyone constantly refer to Lara as Larda before...and why does he scream 'HE'S GOT A LACERATION' is it purely because it sounds more dramatic that 'He's got a cut'

Degale did not deserve that win on that performance..

Degale looks a worn fighter in my eyes he must think long and hard who he fights because he does not have much left.
James has been a Olympic gold medalist and a pro champion he has reached his goals far more than most fighters ever would dream of yes he has been successful maybe time to pack it in he seems to be getting hit far to much.

I wouldn’t necessarily mind a rematch between Hurd and Lara but I thought that Charlo deserved to fight one of them in the first place. He definitely deserves to get a chance at Hurd now.

Hurd looks massive and Lara landed the better punches. That was a hard fight for Lara.

It would be a darn impressive stretch of Hurd could get Charlo next. Fingers crossed

Wouldn’t it be amazing that 154 would actually have the best fighting each other? If I remember correctly, there was a fighter at that weight not too long ago who held that up. Rumor has it that he is currently holding up middleweight.

Would love Hurd v Charlo but have to think that chin is due to crack the way he catches shots usually walking forward. Lara rematch would be fun but envision scenario where Hurd gets to him sooner. Lara basically forced to make it war to survive, came close but that damage sits on a guy.

Rewatched DeGale interviews and he really sounds a bit in denial to current career situation. You cannot erase damage. And he and Truax had to share ambulance ride to hospital???. Didn't know that.

hurd did the right thing, just putting his hands up and walking in. dont even try to box. he tried to box with him in the first round, slipping, countering, all it did was get him hit a lot. lara had the problem that he couldnt turn hurd. if you cant turn hurd het gets to you easy. now he's on your chest and now neither of you can box. now youre equals.

i figure that if charlo cant turn or grab hurd when he comes in, he loses that kind of fight too.
