Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds Hatton vs Urango
Castillo didn't look very good, so Hatton has a good chance to beat him.
However, I will say that I think Corrales could give Hatton all types of trouble at 140 with his height and power punching.

Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds Hatton vs Urango
Ricky "The quiet man" hatton
Dude cant even bang with Urango. Ben Rabah...thats right....ben who? he made urango look worse than hatton did. take this man's visa away. He couldnt even invade my refrigerator for a snack. Low-blowing albino bastard.

Hatton annoyed me a little with his 2 punches and clinch fighting tonight and even would walk forward looking for the clinch that annoyed me :(

Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds Hatton vs Urango
Yeah, just what I thought, Merchant sucked his dick. Merchant was basically badmouthing Hatton in the 11th and 12th but then he walked in the ring and sucked his dick on the interview. I guess he only attacks Floyd.

Shouldn't be enough to foolishly think Hatton will walk through Castillo. Cuz it ain't happening

He seems a great guy outside the ring, and has tremendous heart and workrate...but i just can't warm to his style. ???
I suggest you watch PAC ... very exciting fighter ...

Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds Hatton vs Urango
Ricky Hatton should have taken a lesson from Joe Calzaghe and that is to never leave your backyard to fight. Hatton is just waiting to get KO'd. Maybe he will need another "tune up" fight after this.
hell make the rest of his career a tune-up fight. Albino bastard.

Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds Hatton vs Urango
damn, judges were kind! 119-109 was more like 116-112 imo
If hatton wants to havwe castillo next, then mayweather he sure as hell needs to be n the gym next week training his body and stam. And billy needs to sort thats smash and grab shit out, coz mayweather will batter him if he trys that, his hands are to wide open and his chin to exposed - tbh he aint learnt fuck all from the collazo fiasco, just fought a slow lack of talent fighter who cudnt capetilise on that!
-
Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds Hatton vs Urango
I read the round by rounds on the BBC and also Wacko's...
The guy on the BBC said that the 'Yanks won't be impressed' and that Ricky was extremely ragged, which seems to be backed up by what people have been saying on here.
But, as they say, a win is a win.
-
Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds Hatton vs Urango
I didn't see hatton holding on for dear life. He was never in any real trouble. He wasn't in any danger of being KO'd, that's for certain.
-
Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds Hatton vs Urango
i didn't really see him look in to much trouble except for a few early body shots; but tbh they looked like they would hurt anyone.

SweetPea...you & I very rarely disagree...or if we do...we don't verbalize it...that being said...I disagree.
Here's the thing...I don't think Hatton can beat Floyd...but...the way he fought tonight...he'll give him some issues...I was thoroughly impressed with his movement.
Seriuosly...Hatton looked fanstastic tonight...sorry...but if the kid fought like this alla the time...he'd have me as a fan...& I hate to jump ship & be a punk...but I'm a fan of Urango now. The bwoy did great against argueably one of the better or best top fighters @ 140lb.
Thrilled to gotdam death with this fight.
Great opponent for Hatton & great performance by Urango!!!!
Never again will I diss Urango. I was impressed. He took the best of what Hatton had to offer...surprised me. Proved me wrong & LUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUV's being wrong!!!

How can you get hurt if you hold the other guys arms the whole time? You can't get hurt if you don't get hit. That's not defence. Now I can say I don't like Hatton.

Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds Hatton vs Urango
It wasn't a good fight though to be honest. Neither fighter seemed bothered by the others punches. There was only a handful of punches from either fighter that made the other stop and think.

I thought that Hatton Urango fight was great...I was expecting a wash out & Urango stood firm & Hatton actually boxed & moved instead of mocking old school Gatti.

It was in reply to Wacko saying he thought Urango had ricky in trouble and could've KO'd him. Neither fighter seemed to be in any real trouble.

Hatton was bothered by the body punching of Urango. I think that's when he started holding more than punching. Like someone called him earlier, Ricky "The Quiet Man" Ruiz. LOL...Hilarious.

i dunno dude;
they way hes hit hit clinch, floyd will crusify him with that. floyds so fast on his feet and quick with his hands he will be landing combs anf flurys on hatton when he trys to clinch, ala collazo, and floyd hits harder than collazo i think; i think hatton might take a few rounds from floyd, but floyd stops him right now unless hatton changes his plan
Floyd has the reach and speed to land clean shots on hattons wide open chin all night, and the feet work to punish him if he trys to clinch
-
Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds Hatton vs Urango
I think Castillo will need more energy for the next fight. Hatton needs a few more situps, he looked hurt to the body a few times, and Castillo will throw lots there.

Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds Hatton vs Urango
Hatton has changed. He used to wrestle, but never clinch.
That was a BORING fight, in the second half.
VERY un-impressive on Hatton's part and Urango.
Just as OumaFan said, you should work on your inside game than clinch your way out.
Hatton rests nowadays, as opposed to the past where he kept up a CRAZY work rate.
Hatton best performance, was what? Two or three years ago?
This is BAD. :(

There were things I was impressed with, it was good to see Ricky stick and move and he showed some good footwork at times but I can't say I was entertained.

anyone wanna give me a quick run down of the merhcant interview? they normaly show it on sky, but we had some skysports reject asking him questions after larry - always enjoy the lary post fight interviews;)
cheers

Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds Hatton vs Urango
It was a workmanlike, gutsy and adaptive performance by Hatton, if a little unspectacular, Urango was like a brick wall, it was similar to the way he faught Ben Tackie, only a southpaw, he stuck and moved, and 119-109 on all scorecards is clinical, Clearly it was the 5th round (i think) scored for Urango, he sank in some unbelivable body shots, something Hatton has never come through. Urango and Njoudjo did themselves proud, I think that Urango v Njoudjo should be on the June 2nd card! That ain't gonna be a bad fight.

Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds Hatton vs Urango
hahaha you guys make me LOL sometimes anyhooo CC for Wacko seing it as it was ;)
Night guys i'll leave you to hate on a guy who got hurt by a body shot from an unbeaten fighter and won all but 2/3 rounds ;D
i think your forgetting Hatton was in with a massive guy who would tired out any fighter with hattons style and lets face it Ricky wont need to hold Floyd because he'll be running to the other end of the ring ;)
-
Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds Hatton vs Urango
Urango was handpicked by Hatton. I was expecting a blow out by Hatton.

It's ok to be short with a short reach and not much of a jab if you wear out your opponent with left hooks to the body. But Hatton seems to spend all his time going for the head. This is OK with Juan freaking Urango but not against a better fighter.
WHAT THE FUCK HATTON A HEAD HUNTER? YOU'VE NEVER WATCHED A HATTON FIGHT IN YOUR LIFE OTHER THAN THIS ONE IF YOU THINK THAT.

I'm not even necessarily talking about Mayweather.
I think Floyd would destroy Hatton, but there's no shame in that. Floyd would destroy most guys. I think that any of the other good fighters at 147 would beat Hatton, and I think Corrales could beat him at 140 too.
Wacko, I respect your opinion on all things boxing, answer me this....
Don't you see a problem with a fighter who is short, doesn't focus on the jab, and doesn't focus on the left hook to the body??
Because that's what I see with Hatton. A guy is not tall or rangy, does not work the left jab or left hook to the body, and throws mostly left hooks and right crosses to the head, without major KO power. This seems like a recipe for disaster against a high-quality opponent.
-
Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds Hatton vs Urango
All in all I think the Hatton Urango fight went pretty much as expected. He was never going to dent Urango but would always be a step ahead. Would have been nice if he cold have maintained the first 3 or 4 rounds until the end but he definately had some issues in there. I dont care what he says or whatever anyone close to him says he was struggling in there for the final quarter. Not sure why that was but they need to address it.
Also once again Billy Graham was less than inspiring with a fighters who was not having things all his own way...."Grab him Rick and lets go home"
Matthew performed well though ;D

I don't see him constantly attacking his opponent with left hooks to the body. He's winning with quantity more than quality. And he's not throwing jabs either. I am not impressed with Ricky Hatton. He is not deserving of a spot in the top 10 PFP in my opinion.
-
Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds Hatton vs Urango
im seeing something in that hatton struggles in the later rounds lately. Let's be honest Urango wasn't considered to be a dangerous opponent for hatton. He was supposed to be a guy that hatton would look spectacular against, be able to gain confidence against, and set up the Castillo fight. Those looking for hatton to get better: there's no time left for it to happen. Maybe he shouldve thought about taking better care of himself between fights cause he doesnt have much left in the tank.
Hatton didn't look spectacular and I dont think he gained confidence. So this was a disappointing fight for him and those around him no matter what they say. Urango is tough and was game, but no way should Urango be able to hang with an elite boxer. Hatton just isnt an elite boxer
