Vargas to the body. Vargas throwing some effective shots but Mayourga takes em. Right hand by Mayourga. Vargas easts the jab. Right hand from Mahyorga & then a nice combination.

Heck, if I lived in the states I'm not convinced I'd be fronting up that kind of money to watch this action, but no doubt it was a ding dong fight and exciting to watch, even if Wacko thinks that bnobody cares. Mayorga's big power and crazy style matched well with Vargas' boxing and made for a great fight, with the momentum swinging back and forth nicely.

Mayorga probably edged it, but those knockdowns were crucial, and I'm not surprised to see an MD, nor would I have been too surprised at a SD.

That judge was retarded, lol. Was one of the fights of the year, damn good. Wish now Fernando wouldn't retire; wouldn't mind seeing a rematch. Looks like he wants a smoke after he gets out of the ring, lol. That fight would have been worth $50, glad I got the live stream, but I wouldn't have been mad had I paid for the fight. Hell, Feliciano/Cintron was great.

Mayorga is a joker bro, you have to understand that he says fuked up shat, but its all in hype for the fight. Win or lose, he always hugs his opponent and shows him respect after the fight. Always. He is a good sport and a warrior, plus he's a great character and thats a good thing for boxing.

On the one hand a guy who goes into the ring with unshakable belief and tries his very very best in every fight and uses all his physical and mental will in every fight is good for boxing.

On the other hand i don't think the pre fight stuffis great press.

Man,Roman Karmazin looked good. I know it was against Terra but that's the best anyone has looked against him from what I've seen. I'd like to see Karmazin v Forrest or Mayorga.I'd take Roman over both,I think he's top 3 at 154.

I'm not as critical of Kermit as some of you. He should have blown Jessie out but when a guy takes your best shots like that,what can you do. Kermit looked sloppy at times and his inside game is poor but he won.He's still hard hitting and still dangerous to any WW,few would be able to take is power as can be attested by his record and how he has blwon alot of his opponents away recently.Few fighters in the division are going to have the chin Feliciano showed last night.

The Mayorga Vargas fight was exciting although definitely not FOTY exciting.Want to see where Mayorga goes from here and I definitely hope Vargas is retired.Too many fighters nowadays say they are retired and come back.

I cracked a bone in my wrist snowboarding one year about 4 years ago & to this day it still hurts. Imgaine a fighter breaking your wrist on the crown of your hand...then imagine that fighter continuously pounding it over & over on a mass of bone called the skull...do the math & stop being so insencitive...if it have been one of your champs you'd be fine with it.

The kid was hurt.

He said he hurt his hand in the first.He didn't mention nor show anything all throughout the fight.He even managed to celebrate AFTER the fight,and then,all of a sudden,he realises,oh yeah,I broke my hand,time to roll on and writh in agony(Manny was just staring at him at this point)..


I've seen fighters break their hands early in fights before:Mayweather,Calzaghe,Gatti,Clottey,NONE of whom have reacted like that. Enough said.Unless someone shows me some evidence that he broke his hand,who that he said it in between rounds,I don't see any evidence.

It has nothing to do with the hurt hand Wacko...Obviously don't want to see any fighter get seriously hurt in any way be it his hand or atherwise.....I just think he over does thiings....He fought like crap...he did not listen to his corner......he showed every reason why he is the most lightly reguarded of all the champion right now in the WW division,,,,,

So it has nothing to do with the guy being hurt...so if thats what you thought then sorry you think that way about us and we would like to see a guy hurt....If it was something serious like a KO and he was hurt or he collapsed in the ring due to some other reason no one would be busting on him.......The fact he started using it as a reason for a poor performance is what really got me....almost as a crutch,,,,his own corner was not even that concerned so obviously it was all news to them as well....

If I had known you were a Cintron fan I would have been less abrasive, just out of respect for you. You know I don't armchair it and rarely down any fighters, but Cintron is one of them and since I don't drink I can't use the "I was sauced last night" excuse. Still doesn't change my opinion of him, and if his hand was hurt that bad in the 1st, he wouldn't have kept throwing it and punching that hard-headed Feliciano guy with it, he doesn't have the stones for that. You would have heard him complain to Manny in the corner about it. Feliciano is just tough, pure and simple, but if he knew how to put punches together that fight would have been over in the 4th round. Cintron looked like he was ready to quit at the end of a few of those rounds out of frustration, same b.s. he did with Margarito. Once a quitter always a quitter. He better get ready for Williams and pray Tony or Cotto don't get in front of him. Sorry Wacko and CC, JMHO.

By the way Roy Jones Jr. just made the, usually boring, commentary colorful and exciting. He's the smartest, if not one of the smartest boxing commentators I've ever seen.

I like Roy as a commentary announcer....Got a sense of humor and is not biased or does he constantly bring himself into every scenario like some other past fighters I have heard...I like lewis as well...at first he was a bit boring but as time goes on he is getting better

Because I missed RJJ's introduction on the commentary last night I didn't know it was him for a while, but I agree that he certainly has a career in boxing punditry after he finally decides its time to retire.

He was insightful, witty and really added to the coverage. Thumbs up from me Roy! :thumb:

Look guys, from sitting ringside I have to say that I (and a lot of the other writers around me) knew that he had hurt his hand early. He was not throwing the right at all from about the third and when he did he was grimmacing.
