Mike Tyson vs Muhammed ALI

hello guys,

Ya know, no matter how much i actually dislike lewis (even though i am british) he is an awesome fighter who deserves everyones respect in terms of his boxing record and skill.
He ducked no fighters, because he defeated all of the best competition of his era.
He is a three time world champion and has been never really dominated by anyone in his prime.
The only times where he has been beaten was when his opponents were lucky.
And finally he is one of the few heavyweight champions in history who has beaten everyone in a way of rematch and retired on top of the world, beating the next dominant heavyweight champion who will also conquer the division, vitali klitscko at the age of 39.
He fought better opposition than mike tyson but if they fought in their primes that would be a hard one to call.

Good points. I never said that Lewis wasn't a good fighter. I like Lewis and at this time, he should historically go down as a better fighter than Mike Tyson. However, Mike is still at it and like it or not, "does" still have a chance. Lewis said that by beating Mike Tyson at the age he was, that he fulfilled his "legacy." Do you all really believe that? It's a game - a very intelligent, conservative game on Lewis' part. The guy is good, but I don't think that he even knew that he could get paid the way that he could until Mike Tyson gave him a hint of what he was worth. Hey, Lewis is a good fighter, but at the same time, name another fighter besides Mike Tyson that could do as poorly as he has done over the past few years, and still get 6.7 million dollars to beat up on a Kevin McBride? How much did he get when he fought Danny Williams - 7 million? I like Mike, but come on... I say that Tyson didn't deserve it. Even one of those promoters (I think it was Cedric Kusher) said after his loss to Williams that Tyson should be fighting for a few hundred thousand while he climbs back up in the ranks. Now my point is "why?" The answer is because Tyson is WORTH it!

I keep trying to tell them the same thing that Lewis is not all that, but it seems like I keep making points and he keeps taking it personal. Really, you could probably say that Lewis just took advantage of good "timing" and the guy only won 41 fights compared to a lot of Hall of Fame fighters that won 80, 90, 100 fights! Even look at James Toney, he is younger than Lewis and already won 69 fights even including his short period of retirement and being an announcer.

I'd give Lewis one of the top 10 heavyweights of all time for now. The Brits just want a boxing champ sooo bad, since the only decent ones that they had were Lewis, maybe Frank Bruno, this Audley Harrison seems to just be a lot of mouth, and then it was Bob Fitzsimmons about a hundred years before that.

Look they dont fight as much as they did back when Ali fought, but let me tell ya another thing, Ali also fought alot of fights that could not be past off has fights now because of PPV sales and shit like that, all the exbition fights like the one against Brian London and fights like that, couldn't sell them now how the TV networks work Lennox Lewis fought top 10 opposition for 10 years beat every fucker he faced, you can not get better than that, and I would put money on it if Tyson had the same record and same victims on it there would be fucking loads saying he was the best ever, hardly no fucker says that about Lewis, scary thing is I do know me boxing and I truly believe that Lewis in his prime would be the man to beat. Every time he stepped up against a top opponents like Holyfield and Lewis he got beat bad, his best win was against a light heavyweight who was scared to death of him.

Before he went in jail in his so called prime he struggled with boxers that were tall, like Green, Smith, Tucker, and If he struggled against them and scored no knock downs against them, then I cant see why he would easierly beat Lewis because Lewis is 10 times the fighter of any of them I have just mentioned !!

So if your talking about who is the best ever, then thats why I started talking about Lewis vs Ali, because I think Ali would of had much harder time fighting Lewis than Tyson !!

Lewis did get better with time. However, 37 of his 44 total career fights were against opponents such as Shannon Briggs; he got knocked out by Haseem Rahman, KO'ed by the Atomic Bull (and was on his was to losing again against McCall hadn't he had a nervous breakdown in the ring), Lionel Butler, Frank Bruno, Tony Tucker, Tyrell Biggs - some of the same people that Tyson beat (if not "quicker"). Phil Jackson, Levi Billups, Jean Chanet, Melvin Epps, Bruce Johnson... Who are these people!!?Â

Tyson in his prime, the biggest fight he won was against a light heavyweight who was scared to death of him, who else did he beat, Tubbs, Smith, Williams, Berbick, Thomas, not exactly world beaters are they.

Lewis fought the best around, like Holyfield twice, Grant, Tua, Mercer, Biggs, Akiwande, Morrision, Tucker, Ruddock, MCcall, Rahman and he wanted Tyson to get in the ring from 95, so while Lewis was fighting all them, Tyson was fighting, Mcneeley, Buster Mathis, Bruce Seldon, and Bruno ... then Holyfield wupped Tyson big time !!

Ruddock had 2 wars with Tyson 1 getting stopped prematurely by richard steele in the 7th second fight went 12.

Lewis destroyed Ruddock in 2 rounds.

Lewis knocks down Tucker twice wins on decision

Tyson gets out boxed by botha for 4 rounds Koes him in 5

Lewis KOES Botha in 2

Bruno is the only fight Tyson fought the same opponent as Lewis and beat him quicker !!

to finish off, you point out Lewis's losses, but he just got caught with killer digs, Lewis has never been dominated and out boxed like Tyson in his defeats, Tyson was lucky to win 2 rounds in the Buster Douglas fight and he got his head boxed off, same as when he fought Holyfield, and when he fought Lewis. Lewis got cracked off punches that would of put most heavyweights out, but he came back and got his revenge, Tyson after his defeats went back to fighting bums and fighters that were scared of him, Tyson never got revenge, Lewis did !!
