I apologise to anyone who's time I wasted with this dumb post!
Seriously?
If you don't understand my happiness at what happened last night, then you can't be a true Steelers fan, and you don't obviously understand the extend of the history and rivalry between these two teams/fans/cities.
You have the right to be bitter, but I also have every right to be happy.
I understand it perfectly, believe me, especially considering their long long common history and how in recent years the Browns just got mashed by the Steelers. I am just a guy with a big big heart who likes the fans of the other team because without them, some rivalries wouldn't exist. Still, I can't be happy when any rivals fans are happy that my team lost, even if it was against them and when it involves the joy to kick them out of the series. So let me be bitter and do not add something on top and we can let Cotto's future aside;D
I understand where you coming from man its very similar to when my bills play the dolphins thats a huge rivalry also, I hate when they beat us don't matter how impressive they played its just something that is ingrained in you if your a true fan of your team.
With that being said and me having no ties with either the Browns or the Steelers I take my hat off to the browns for playing the way they did.
Funnily enough, the two only american football games I have ever seen in a Stadium were at the Ralph Wilson's stadium ... against the DOlphins and against the Pats (Bledsoe was the QB back then). damn good ambiance and no more beer nowhere at midtime period. I would seriously love to see one game someday at the Heinz Field, that would be magic.
And yeah... congrats to the Browns.... I guess. :flush:
Tonight is New Orleans last real test against the Cowboys if they win this one I don't see them getting beat to the Bucs or the Panthers meaning there going into the playoffs undefeated. What season they have had.
I'm already looking forward to what the off season brings for my Bills new head coach maybe a GM and who we pick up in free agency and the draft.
Wow can't believe the cowgirls beat the saints, I really thought Brees was gonna lead another comeback victory.
Man they looked tattered in spots.Injury catching up to them and Brees was eratic. This place just sat stunned for a minute late last night. The look of "we ARE human".Do think people put WAY to much stock locally in the perfect undefeated run.But hey, what are you going to do?Just steady the ship and gear up in practice...keep looking back at Reggie going gimp and pulling up on that one run...he had open field with one to beat but shit happens.
Brett Frave is a fucken animal... :o
What a game.
NO LEAD is safe with Favre. That was one wild game and one HELL of a throw by Cutler to close it out.
I bought tickets for my fiancee and my brother as a Christmas gift to the JETS vs BENGALS game right after we lost to the Falcons. I only bought them with the thoughts of it being the last game ever at Giants Stadium. I had NO CLUE that the stars would align perfectly so that the game would end up being the Jets ticket to the Playoffs. TOO EXCITED!!!
My Steelboys have a chance to make the playoffs!! un-believable :D:D:D
If the Vikings had been routed then I would have written them off. The comeback OT loss gave me a boost of confidence. Actually, for me it was better than a blowout win. It's good to know they can struggle back in cold weather.
I still see them as more of a Wildcard team.
I'm sad for the Texans. I was hoping this would be the Playoffs for them.
I am not looking forward to watching three repeat games this coming weekend.
I think SD is the team to beat...
Saints are looking flat, stale and used up.Need the Bi but peaked to soon...way to much local ya-hoo talk about that fooking "16-0"...lost focus.Got shook.Sad thing is if they go one and done in playoffs....all the early perfection means nattas. They did look damn good....hopefully gear up and pull it out but all up hill as underdogs now.......a good thing ??
As a fan of the underdog, what about the winning streak the Browns ended the season with. Apart from the Chargers they're on the second hottest streak in the league!!!
If his surname wasn't a single letter away from an all-in-one male swimsuit made popular by Borat, I think Mangini might deserve a shot at being there for another year.
The Ring means A LOT MORE then the 0.
BUT
Let me put it this way, who won the Bowl in 70?
Me and most NFL fans wouldn't know.
On a general basis.
Now which team in NFL has went undefeated in a single season?
72 Dolphins me and I'd like to think most NFL fans know that and would answer it in a heart beat.
Again not as meaningful BUT it def. carries some weight around I atleast think they should have started Peyton and tried to get an early lead then pull him out...
I agree with Mick on this one.
You have a chance at the Superbowl every year, just ask San Diego. You loose the first week of the season and the perfect record has eluded you once again.
If you make it to 13-0 and don't try for a perfect season you are an asshole. Afterall, you can loose the Superbowl either way, but a perfect season is the next best thing.
Also, if I were Peyton Manning I would have went home and never came back.
"Yeah, I think I quit. Afterall, I don't want to hurt myself or anything."
YES SIR! Jets onto the AFC Championship. I can't even begin to tell you how GREAT of a time it is to be a Jets fan around here! One week they've got no chance at the playoffs, then every team that needed to lose lost, the Colts sit their starters and keep the hopes alive, Bengals play flat for our berth. Then comes the playoffs and we beat the Bengals and upset the hottest team in the NFL!
On the other games, I really thought Dallas was going to make the superbowl. Favre is SICK! Green Bay took most out the Cardinals in that shootout to leave the remains for the Saints. I CAN'T WAIT FOR NEXT WEEK!
Saints, Vikings, Jets Colts, all teams that have been spectacular with the aerial play, this is made up for quite an interesting final, especially as we haven't seen the Vikes, Saints and Jets quite close to the big final for years, a real breathe of fresh air somehow.
Not trying to sound stupid but have the New York Jets only got 1 more game before the superbowl?
If Sanchez gets the Jets to the superbowl, the only scenario I can imagine is a swine flu epidemic in Indianapolis. But seriously.....they're in the big leagues now and the Colts are a whole different kettle of fish. However, the odds on the Jets will make them an interesting bet though.....8/1 and up I'd imagine.
As for the mighty Vikes, at least Brett gets another dome game for his aching ageing joints, which is meant to be better for the older gentleman. Another huge defence game will be required to stop the Saints offence, but it's more possible than the Jets I think.
Roll on Superbowl weekend...Vikes v Jets anyone?
I am almost certain that the Colts will be in the big game. As for the other game, hard to say, It's like the Saints Destiny vs Brett the Magician, I really don't know but I'll go with a bold call: Favre chokes and the Saints destiny continues to the big bowl vs General Manning.
AS long as the Cowpies have been eliminated, I don't care who wins. But a Saints-Colts SB would be a good game.
Its GO TIME motherf!!kers :jabbing::shotgun5lu8:.....and whatever you do.DO NOT go downtown right now...took me 45 minutes to drive a block. It is absolutly insane,a sea of black and gold with people handing beer into our car every five minutes :drunks:...lets hope for a scrapy tough game. GEAUX SAINTS !!
Favre a toughie but getting hit on like Mtagwa. This game is causing me to age by the second :cwm13:
you've gotta be fucking kidding me, how lucky are the Saints, the Vikings get a 12 men on the field call coming out of a timeout. Seriously, if the Vikings lose Childress has to be fired tomorrow and if they make it to the Super Bowl you wait till after that then win or lose you fire him. Dumbest shit ever.
