Basically, I think all these obstacles between posters are manufactured. Personally, I don't connect, but get the strongest abuse. Why is that? Well, a variety of reasons really.

Many young and Black and minority ethnic people do not vote and have become disenfranchised with the political parties. The truth is the parties do not care about them voting anyway and will not go out of their way to win their votes.
I believe you should vote even if you do not entirely agree with the party you support.
My values and opinions closely align with the Greens but have to vote Labour because I want the Tories out of my constituency.

Scrapping winter fuel payments for the richest pensioners, capping child benefit rises and protecting tax credits
A 50p tax rate on incomes over £150,000 a year and abolishing non-dom status. Rises in VAT and national insurance ruled out
A cut in university tuition fees from £9,000 to £6,000
Speaking in Manchester, Mr Miliband said the first page of Labour's manifesto "sets out a vow to protect our nation's finances; a clear commitment that every policy... is paid for without a single penny of extra borrowing".
Labour would not promise anything it could not fund, he said, contrasting this with the Conservatives which he described as the "party of sums that do not add up and commitments that cannot be kept".

David Cameron has said his aim is to guarantee a "good life" for British workers and families as he launched the Conservatives' election manifesto.
The prime minister said he wanted "to finish the job" of rebuilding Britain on behalf of "working people".
He pledged to pass a law to keep minimum wage workers out of tax, double free childcare to 30 hours a week and boost "right to buy" home ownership.
Labour said the Conservatives were the "party of the richest in society".
The Conservative launch in Swindon came the day after Ed Miliband put forward Labour's version - promising to improve the lives of Britain's workers and not to pay for any policies through additional borrowing.
In his speech, Mr Cameron said the Conservatives would build on the "solid foundations" laid by his government since 2010, proclaiming that Britain was "on the brink of something special" and warning that Labour would take the UK "back to square one".
"We are the party of the working people offering you security at every stage of your life," he said.
His goal over the next five years, he said, was to "turn the good news on our economy into a good life for you and your family".
"They're about realising the potential of Britain, not as a debt-addicted, welfare-burdened, steadily declining, once great nation, which is what we found. But a country where a good life is there for everyone willing to work for it."

So the entire campaign is reduced to ridiculous photo opportunities where the politicians pretend they're like normal people.

That's exactly what the left here should do. But the left here has a short history, mostly led by the vietnam-war era activists who denounced the war. And the press here are not un-sympathetic to them at all. Most of the people who're in the press are these same activists of the 60s and the 70's. They're now holding the key positions in the mass media organizations here, with their proteges in tow. But somehow, they have failed to move the common folks here, probably most of these simple folks don't understand their grandiose ideology that they have been trying to preach to them. The non-appearance of Ed Milliband won't have done his chances much good either. Dimbleby gave everyone far too much leeway, and at one point the Green leader was yelling "I want to make my point now" over the other leaders. Again, I think the winner was Nicola Sturgeon, with Leanne Wood looking a bit better than the last debate in second, then Miliband, Farage and Bennett bringing up the rear.Quote:

I think Miliband did well. Not as well as Sturgeon but did well. He was on a hiding to nothing and seems to have come out of it with credit. He is growing in stature.
If Miliband was to say he would work with SNP then Labour are wiped out in Scotland. It also gives the Tories a huge stick to beat him with in many parts of England.
It's a shame but he really has no choice.
I thought Ed did well in both TV debates to be honest. Policy aside I liked the cut of his jib. Farage is a problem child. Even with his bomb proof financially backed and verified manifesto you cant help but think he's always on the cusp of calling someone a cunt. He has to play up to the 'say what everyone else is afraid to' routine, the problem is it routinely blows up in his face.

That is very funny. I watched about 5 mins of newzoids but the combination of really bland crappy sanitised puppets and naff computer animated mouths made it unwatchable. It had none of the charm, spite or bile that made Spitting Image unmissable. Also the voice actors were shite. It's a pity if the jokes were that funny.
I felt the same about it, the mouths annoyed me to no end. The 5 minutes I watched did make me laugh though.
It's a joke, you have Labour or Tory. Both support ruining the country through fracking, both of whom work for the banks, both of whom have war merchants in their ranks, both of whom who promise more austerity. The system is broke because the banks got rich crashing the system and richer still after the crash. Yet, HSBC is still allowed on street corners? Seriously? No penalties despite their crimes all around the world? The government signed off deals to basically let it go? You try doing that and see where you end up. It's a banana republic.
Why is there even an election when the two main parties might as well be in a dictatorship? Oh, it's the illusion of chance. There is no chance, it is a con. Russell Brand is right, the time for voting is over. Invest in crypto currencies and just start reading up at least on alternatives. That system is done. Westminster will collapse as soon as the election is over as the economy is based on mortgage debt alone and basically there is nothing to prop it all up.
They did nothing about 2008 and so at zero percent interest, the next collapse is going to be a little more extreme. Black hole territory is coming. Negative interest rates wouldn't be a shock. You still think the banks should be in business?

I was impressed by the Welsh leader and she said the things that Labour would have done many years ago about strengthening the unions, reducing inequality and taxing the rich. Ed could not say any of that and appeared right wing compared to the others and may have won some votes because of that.
Labour is Torylite but you have to be pragmatic to get in because that is what the voters want.
That is what the voters want? They have been sold property dreams. It is not sustainable. You will have to take away property and have a revolution. So, everyone has a home.
