Was that first KD okay? From the replays it looked as though it was to the back of the head. I could be wrong as I couldn't see properly, so I am wondering there, but after that Wilder just looked off with odd balance.
Fair play to Fury, he was clearly the better fighter here and boxed very well, but I do think there are question marks about Wilder following the knockdown. His balance was all off for me from that point on.
I would honestly like to see Wilder try again.

Fury beat the crap out of him. He went up close and physical with that mass and ring wisdom. Didn't think he'd have it to be honest. They should have stopped it earlier but with Wilder you can't doubt his metal.
Wilder claiming he had a leg injury coming into the fight..
AJ should have taken on Wilder years ago.

Is that what it was? After the first KD I got flashbacks to Tyson/Williams except that definitely happened during the fight. His balance was gone and someone like him relies on the pivot for the power. I thought maybe a weird shot to the top or back of the head, but fair enough. Maybe crocked from the off. Fury stopped the man and is thus the man. I feel for Wilder though as I don't think he was right. The balance was very weird and thus the timing completely off. If injured it kind of dilutes what seemed to be a very good Fury win and that is why I would like to see it again. I don't think anyone can deny the awkward posture of Wilder there. I thought a weird punch did it during the KD but seemingly there from the start. I noticed Wilder's ankle was wrong getting up from the KD too, kind of twisted, and again he crumbled very easily quickly after. Seemed weird to me.
If injured his team would have known and it was probably for the best. He had no movement or real leverage. I hate early stoppages, but think this was probably sensible. He couldn't get into a position to do his work.Quote:

To be fair, I was rooting for Wilder and thought he had a pretty good chance tonight. But rabbit punch or no rabbit punch I think Fury's strategy of coming in aggressively and using his considerable weight advantage to wear down Wilder worked like a charm. Wilder was never the same after that first KD, so I think there's something to the theory of having busted his eardrum. But Fury was just the better man tonight. I still think Wilder sweeps the floor with Joshua.

I don't know Tito. If his eardrum really went then that too would add to the balance question and he wouldn't have been all there. He fell again almost straight away after and looked very weird several times in the fight. I think Fury could see the blood dripping from the ear and the balance and took advantage. He had every reason to be more aggressive. But for the first 5 minutes, he wasn't terribly aggressive at all. He was opportunistic IMO and full credit to him. If you smell blood, then tear them up (Not spoken in the voice of Jack the Ripper at all).Quote:

Classic boxer v puncher Wilder was tough but he was outboxed again he is good on his front foot Deontay but on the rear foot he can't counter.
It was a good fight much better than the first Fury did not leave it to the judges this time the Wilder corner done the right thing he was spent he could have been hurt.!
Brilliant performance by Fury. He unpacked what was to all intents and purposes an empty box in Wilder once you take the Jack out. Mentally he beat the crap out of Wilder and then followed thru on his promises and made the ogre look like a beanstalk. We should not be so surprised after Tyson had shown us what he was capable of against Wlad in what was another boxing clinic. Great to see him find a way to get the result he should have been awarded in the first Wilder fight.

At the time Ross was still posting prior to the Wlad fight, I also thought it was too big a jump for Fury.
After he won that fight, I had little doubt on Furys abilities since.
Felt he could beat Wilder down as one of them is manufactured, and the other was born into it. So Fury could adapt better against adversity.
Wilder is tough, mentally strong, and good chin despite lacking elsewhere. That's dangerous.
Still surprised at how Fury did it, just like he said he would beforehand.
