Star Wars Force awakens was just homage to the the franchise and they are milking it with the same story line on repeat.
OK
The revenant - Fucking brilliant film, for as good as Leo was I thought Tom Hardy was even better - 9-10
The Hateful 8 - agin brilliant, for as good as Sam Jackson was I thought Kurt Russell was even better, I switched it off and thought 'yeah that was ok I suppose' after a few hours I was thinking 'that was fucking brilliant' I do still think Tarantino is suffering massively from swallowing himself up his own arsehole, his films have become so Tarantinoesque that even Tarantino can't pull them off, too much snazzy music, witty dialogue, cool music and B movie gore, still a great film though 8.5-10
Green Inferno - I fucking loved this film, yeah it was shit, it was an 80's throwback filled with torture porn and a weak story line, I gotta say though that is why I like Eli Roth, he flys the flag for the old genre, his films are shit and they are made on a budget but you can tell he loves what he is doing, for as much as I enjoyed it I can't rate it too high (p.s. probably dont watch this if you are squeamish - 6.5-10
Legend - Hardy knocked it out of the park again, I'd heard quite a few people say that they preferred the Kemp version but I disagree, Hardy brings the comedy with one brother and the reality with the other, the music suited the film and the action seen where Hardy fights Hardy was great 7.5-10
Creed - only watched it to see how bad Bellew was in it, had to switch it off when I heard Bellew speaking in it 0-10 (yeah I know I need to watch it properly but that is my current score)
True grit - the original version was on this morning, fucking brilliant, not much more to be said - 9-10
Skyfall - never watched it before, watched it last night, it was good but I can't help but feel that Craig blew his load with Casino Royale, every bond he does will be compared to that and I doubt that Craig can top it - 6.5-10
I'm sure I'm missing a film or two that I've watched in the last week or so but I can't remember them now
Oh Antman
never my fave comic book character, I've seen all the other Marvel films at the cinema cuz I'm a massive geek, Ant-Man seemed like a bit of a cash in though 'hey lets take a character who is pretty shite and make a $1000,0000,0000 out of it' I have to say I quite enjoyed it but I still feel like they are sucking the life out of the comics I loved as a child and regurgitating them in a way that 5 year olds can enjoy, no mention of the original ant man being a beit of a psycho cunt with split personalities who systematically abused his wife, he was just sad old Michael Douglas - 5.5 - 10
Oh well lets hope Deadpool can knock it out of the park, thats the film I'm looking forward to in 2016
Star Wars. I enjoyed it, never really watched the originals so no preconceptions, no hang ups. Witty in parts, good action, cunts were gasping when whatshisface died.
Daddy's Home. Ferrell and Wahlberg are a good double act, some genuinely funny bits. Velma from Scooby Doo is hot as fuck. Some prick applauded throughout the film which was weird. Turns out we kinda knew the guy and his Mrs and they bought one another cinema passes for Crimbo and were on a proper mad one ;D Watched 4 or 5 films in the day and were straight in to watch another after Daddy's Home. I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt as they were clearly fatigued, the line between great film and OK family fun with a few giggles was a bit skewed.
Yeah enjoyed Legend. Tom Hardy aside - The soundtrack was great. Emily Browning's accent was outstanding and I just might have to visit Enugu.
Bit of a shit ending though. Not much better than the Kemp version if at all.
Good work Barry Norman @Batman
Casino Royale was an excellent movie but I think Sky Fall was even better.
Iron Man 3 was funny.
Now you see me 2013 film @Vendettos have you seen it. I thought it was fun and action packed film magic film.
Funnily enough @Master I've never wanted to see that movie.
My issue is that I believe they'd use filming techniques and trickery for most of it rather than stay true to tradition methods.
But you have sorta made me wanna see it to check now.
Watched Hole which was horror film which I did not enjoy, too predictable for me.
Watched green inferno as I like horror but very disappointed with it. Did see hunger games mocking Jay pt 1, not a big follower of the series but it was decent. I do have interstellar to watch this eve, review to follow.
Saw The Revenant this weekend and liked it. The bear scene was awesome. Scary.... it was just like being there. Speaking to a friend of mine who was comparing it to The Martian in terms of quality. Personally, I liked The Martian better... but was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked this movie. DeCaprio outdoes himself.
Crossing Over was a good film telling the story of a number of characters working and having issues with immigrantion. There are different nationalities struggling to achieve legal status in Los Angeles. The film deals with the border, document fraud, the asylum and green card process, work-site enforcement, naturalization, the office of counter terrorism and the clash of cultures.
The Aussie actress played by Alice Sophia Eve sleeps with Ray Liotta for a green card. She has amazing racks and great body. Very talented actress that caught my eye.
Deadpool i would recommend all of u to watch it!
The Reluctant Fundamentalist was very interesting about the aftermath of 9/11 experienced from the perspective of a westernised Muslim.
Riz Ahmed is charismatic as the Pakistani-born protagonist who is forging ahead with a career on Wall Street and a relationship with Kate Hudson's upper-class photographer when the attack on the Twin Towers triggers a wave of Islamophobia and leads him to leave his adopted home. Back in Pakistan, he reinvents himself as a radical professor.
Saw London Has Fallen last night. Good action... bad guys get it in the end... my kind of flick.
Walked in to San Andreas the other night and sat through it.
Wow. That was awful!
How I Spent My Summer Vacation starring Mel Gibson was a good film and I really enjoyed it.
Re-Kill. Didn't finish it. Almost went to see The force awakens finally but storms and flooding came.
Jonah Hex was so bad it was good. He is a character like Ghost Rider, Spawn or Wolverine an anti hero. Hex is bound by a personal code of honor to protect and avenge the innocent.
John Malkovich is evil and Mega Fox is hot. @walrus you will like the history of the civil war and the angle they come with.
The Long riders. Has to be one of the more underrated westerns. Again
Kick Ass 2 was good
Changing Lanes (Bat Man v NickFury/Mace Windu) is a good film.
Batman V Superman - Bit slow to start, end fight was epic. I'd let Amy Adams, Wonderwoman, and probably Henry Cavil poo on me.
Yeah a lot of people are saying it's a film of two halves but then Man of Steel was just like that - I thoroughly enjoyed this film. I thought I'd be disappointed but luckily I saw the film with bunch of nerds so was kept well informed ;D
Also, Wonder Woman is gorgeous.
Just watched Anchorman, The Legend of Ron Burgundy and it is brilliant.
Saw black mass with Johnny Depp very good film.
wacthed the film "circle" totally pointless film but worth watching i tihnk, nothing great but pretty interesting.
Watching town which stars Ben Aflek as an Irish bank robber in Boston who falls in love with the victim of his robbery. Looks a good film so far.
Ip Man 3. Wish the Tyson fight scene would've been longer. Their choreography proved it could've been at least 5 minutes.
Great film that kinda went under the radar for some reason - possibly Depps finest performance ;)
There's a good documentary on youtube about Bulger too, he allowed them to do LSD tests on him for months while he was in Alcatraz to shorten his sentence so it's no wonder he was a wrong un ;D
Watched Martyrs the other day - NOT for the squeamish so be very warned.
French movie with subtitles
Good film if you can stomach it :-X

The lead role is smoking hot too until the end of the film anyway ;-) hahaha

Watched Starred Up about a violent young offender transferred to adult prison where his inmate father is also there. Interesting lifestyle in prisons.
So apparently Hollywood has remade The Magnificent Seven AND Ben Hur......so I take it a Citizen Kane remake is also on the books? I wouldn't guess that Gone With The Wind would get a remake what with "das racist" and all.....but for fucks sake Hollywood think up something new!
I am on a movie spree right now . . I watched three movies in my day off ..
1. Good will hunting
2.A few good men
3. Scent of a women
The best 8 hours i spent in my day :)
I've got the Paul Leni 1928 silent film 'The Man Who Laughs' starring Conrad Veidt (who played Major Heinrich Strasser in Casablanca). This film, based on the novel of the same name by Victor Hugo. Anyway, the crux of the story is that a young boy is kidnapped and surgery is performed on him by a gypsy doctor giving him a permanent and grotesque smile and the young boy grows into a man and seeks his revenge on those who did that to him. It is said that the character who is given the surgery Gwynplaine is the basis for The Joker in Batman and I intend to watch and see how that presents itself.
I watched a file called Wer last night and I enjoyed it
