Ray Mercer vs Ali = Ali way way to quick for Mercer and wins comfortable decision
Mike Tyson vs Ali = Doesn't matter if its early 90s Tyson or late 90s Tyson Ali stops Tyson late
Evander Holyfield vs Ali = In good fight Ali wins decision but this fight would be bit harder than people expect
Tommy Morrison vs Ali = No doubt in my mind Ali stops Morrison in middle rounds
Oliver McCall vs Ali = Ali shuts out Oliver and wins one sided decision
Right i think i covered most of them do you guys and girls agree with this ??
Most top 10 boxers of the 80s, 90s and 00s would have defeated great Ali without much problem - just take a look at Jesse Owens' (the greatest athlete ever) records and compare them to the records decades later.
Jesse Owens vs. Asafa Powell in 100 meter would be a joke, right? The same with Ali vs. Lewis.
Boxing is not that different from other sports, even we do like it so much, and a prime Ali of the 60s would not stand much of a chance against a prime 00s in Lewis, Klitschko, Tyson, Evander and so on

Wasn't Foreman from 70s and look how well he did against young fighters and please don't mention Klitschko he wouldn't win he is too robotic i've seen Vitali and he didn't impress me much Wlad is better fighter than him but he has weak chin and running is totally different you can't compare that with boxing because if that statement was true wouldn't heavyweights be getting fitter and better ?? and is that the case ?? no there getting fatter and fatter and slower and slower Ali is arguably the most athletic hw of all and your telling me Ali wouldn't beat prime Holyfield didn't 40+ Larry Holmes give Holyfield all he could handle ?? and as for others read my other posts.
Re: How Would Ali Have Done In 90s
Ali on his BEST NIGHT against Cleveland Williams, NO ONE. Doesn't matter who, no one would have beaten him.

Agreed i find it hard for any hw to be that version of Ali he simply was like poetry in motion that night.
Re: How Would Ali Have Done In 90s
Watching Ali was special because he completely broke the mold of what a heavyweight can do. He had the speed and movement of a fighter many weight classes down. His jab is one of the greatest, most effective, and beautiful to watch punches in the history of the sport. Add to that his incredible heart, chin, and ability to rise in big moments (or when people gave him no chance)....you have a legend (and that does include his larger than life persona outside of the ring).

Yes, that is the point. A very very very very great Ali was in his prime about 85 kg to 95 kg - a prime Wlad is about 120 kg and he is much more fit than Ali was....
Ali vs. Wlad would be NO go whatever you like it to be.....evolution....development....

Much more fit ?? Ali can still bounce on his toes after 15 rounds and Wlad has had stamina problems in past.

Exactly. There is no doubt that over the years things have advanced. But there is still nobody EVEN CLOSE in the heavyweight division as fast as Ali. As for fitness...Ali was lasted the entire duration of his Frazier fights...when he was already PAST his prime. Either of the Klitchkos would be would on their backs gasping for air in similar circumstances.

Which begs the question "WELL WHO THE HELL WAS CLEVELAND WILLIAMS???"
Now be sure to make certain that it is not I who said either Klitschko would beat Ali....size and power might have given Ali trouble but a similar boxer went 11 with Vitali and Wlad has not really fought anyone as good as Ali (which can be said for pretty much ALL fighters of this era).
I just think it would be harder for Ali not being the biggest as he was throughout his career.....vs Frazier, Foreman, Liston.....Ali was ALWAYS the biggest
6'3 215-225 (in his prime) 81" reach......great hand speed and chin.
It would be tough to deal with in any era BUT considering Bowe, Lewis, Vitali, Wladimir, all have size and power over him as well as were athletically gifted due to new training......it's hard to say where and when Ali would slip up......but I don't think he'd win every fight and I don't think it would be easy because let's not kid ourselves, it wasn't easy for him THEN!!!!!!

Ali v Williams
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s9cGINC-kkQ
Ali was dancing away from what ? an old man as the commenetator put it who wasnt expected to go the distance
Ali gets caught by a jab just after 4 minutes in and then takes a right and has to hold, he trys the shuffle just before 5 minutes and gets caught, the bloke wasnt untouchable and if he gets caught while doing his dancing and shuffling best by an old journey man in his prime and best showing fight, what would a prime Tyson do.

This isn't prime Tyson though its 90s Tyson and prime Tyson wasn't that unbeatable remember he struggled to beat average James Quick Tillis.
Re: How Would Ali Have Done In 90s
Same as Ali struggled got floored and looked to have lost to Doug Jones and Henry Cooper before he was champ
Mike had only been a pro for 14 months when he beat Tillis
Re: How Would Ali Have Done In 90s
Yeah ok, 90's was in the title
Prime for prime though, If we never saw Mikes demise from Spinks onwards, would you really be willing to bet your house that Ali would win

What ????? Ali beat Jones no controversy look at this Data Boxing reported blows as: Clay 376/707 53%; Jones 114/283 40%
Well what about Tyson struggling with Tucker in his prime i know Big H going to be bit mad at me for mentioning this again ;D
