Joe's fans are going to outnumber Bernard's like Ricky's did Floyd's. British fans sing too and there'll be a band over there as well, so it's going to be a British football ground atmosphere. Hopkins is just taking the fight for the biggest-possible final payday.
Did it help Ricky?
Did it hurt him?
Well he lost his 0, was obviously upset and put of his gameplan, and got KTFO. I'd say it didnt have a positive effect on him.
Whether it had a positive efect or not, it certainly didn't have a negative effect. He didn't walk into the arena to be confronted by thousands of rabid Mayweather fans. But you're changing the subject again. You were originally asking (at the start of this very post) whether Joe fighting in Vegas would have a negative effect.
Well how can it possibly have a postive effect. The biggest fight of his career is the first time he has fought a decent opponent outside the UK. Judges and ref are more likely to sway towards Hopkins, his usual routine will be upset as he'll be training in a different place, the fans wont be as one sided as usual. How can it possibly have a positive effect?
It's not an argument I was making. It's something you changed the subject to.
So u agree with me?
Go and learn to spell.
What has spelling got to do with anything?
It doesn't. He's losing this debate badly and doesn't have anything useful worth saying any more. So he's picking on your spelling.
My spelling was perfect apart from using u unstead of you.
Like I said he ain't got nothing useful to say. He never does.
HAHA. Just another fanboy. Too many around here.

Your either too good, or woeful at debating. If u find a spot in the middle u will find yourself in longer debates.

Re: Hopkins - Calzaghe "signed by next week"
Jesus christ, could you stop with the quoting????
That being said heres an honest appraisal of the fight
They might as well call it,"Its all about the money"
Bernard loses, well he's allready going to the hall,so,so what, and for Joe its beating up on the elderly
Bernard wins,he adds nothing really to his legacy, and kills Joes in the process
A slap handed pointer, versus a methodical bout slower
Oooooooooooooooooooo excitement city
Its a stupid bout that win or lose doesnt help either fighter except in their wallet

Not just from the same city, the same neighborhood,we're both from Germantown(if you looked up shit hole in the dictionary)
But what does a fight like this prove
Not to mention,I know Bernard well enough,if he wins,he'll just fight again
Sooner or later though,we all hit the wall, and I respect the dude to much to want to see it
He's way too smart to constantly let Pride over ride brains
Its all but signed and sealed,so obviously I hope he does well, but nobody fights for forever, and he has nothing to gain from these fights

Damn I did not realize you were from the same neighborhood as Bernard. You got street cred in my book then man, you must be a hard motherfuker! You don't still live there though right?
I think this fight does A LOT for Bernard if he wins, for his legacy, to beat Calzaghe right now would be HUGE. But crazy as he is, it might only encourage him to fight on, and eventually lose embarissngly even gettin knocked out.

I didn't think that was a good place to raise a family. Good decision. A picture is much safer.
Re: Hopkins - Calzaghe "signed by next week"
Bizarre life in Philly story for the day
I had a place at 6th and Girard for awhile,Im walking home one night. This brother starts heading towards me doing what I call "the drug dealer agressive sidle" 2 steps and do two looks that almost looks like a Frazier weave to check for cops, repeat as needed
Im thinking "ahhhhhhhh crap,I have neither the purchasing power,or the desire for this crap"
Sure enough I think, the brother starts off with,"Yo man yo,hey white boy, come here"
He's moved up to the defcon 4 level of attempting to deal,he's just pulled one part of his jacket over the other part, like he wants you to see something he's trying to hide(there is a distinct difference between this walk, and the "cough up the cash" walk, you'd know it if youve seen it,every city has variations)
Its right near the old projects they tore down,so my escape routes here are very limited, and if you run someone is going to follow(even if your "a crazy ass white boy there are some parts of any city you dont go,through those projects is Phillys back then, just like the block of 13th and B in NYC,you just aint welcome)so Im thinking oh hell, lets just get it over with.
So he sidles up looking everywhere like he's got the entire cocaine output of Columbia in there, and says,"Yo man yo"
I awnser,"Yeah?"
"You um,you, you want to buy a turkey"
I stopped dead, what the hell do you say to an illegal attempt to sell you a large fowl in the middle of North Philly?
Now that I think of it,it might have been a euphanism for some type of drug, but he was really close to the local market(probably also tore down),so Im betting to this day he meant,a very large bird that when domesticated doesnt have a brain in its head
Philly in many ways can be very fun(also dangerous as hell) because you have no real idea whats going to happen,in hindsight I wonder why I ever did drugs, you'll see crap dead sober that is more bizare then anything drugs can conjur up

CC man. Thats a good one. ;D
Turkey huh? WTF? I'd imagine you'd have to be a "Crazy ass white boy" to survive round there bro. Glad you made it outta there alright, didn't wind up in prison, and can now post on here and discuss boxing and what not with the Hulkster. Dat's Gangsta. O0
Re: Hopkins - Calzaghe "signed by next week"
cc Back bro
Another one that still cracks me up,I was living at 48th and Baltimore,we're having one of those painful mornings, where your drinking the 40,not because you really want a beer, but the alternatives are just to freaking painful,OK,Ill admit it was an early afternoon
One of those type of days, your not starting with cheerios
This old brother just stumbles out of nowhere,he isnt walking as much as gliding side to side
(I swear theres a funny part to this one)
So we're passing a forty of Old English(which is frankly vile, but it was a bad start to all of our days,if you get my drift)and we're sitting on the porch wondering,"Whats he up to?"
The guy stops dead in front of us and says "Hey you crackers are all right, you want some chicken?"(he's got one of those grease drenched bags they used to serve it in around there)
And drops like a rock in the center of the street
The conversation that followed
"Did that just really happen?"
"Yeah"
"How much illegal crap is in the house?"
"We're pretty cool"
"Ok somebody drag him out of the street,Im going to see if we have any change to make a call"
Its only funny in hindsight because the guy was only stoned to the gills,if it had been a heart attack it wouldnt be funny
Funny in this country people constantly point the finger at African Americans for having a high cholesteral rate
Dude have you ever seen whats for sale as takeout in a black neighborhood?
A pizza joint,a soul food joint(high butter content on everything),theres a battered truck selling BBQ(oh thats healthy),a couple of fast food joints(Checkers may taste good, but)and some bars that all have their own version of Fried Chicken that all taste the same(very good, but very greasy)
Health food in any variation of the ghetto is Chinese Food, vegatation is involved in some way
Ok,I admit collared greens are vegatation, but the way you get them from a soul food joint, only barely
