Not sure what good they think comes out of not dealing diplomatically with other countries. Will Iran change their policy because we don't meet with them, because they feel slighted?

I'm not even saying diplomatic negotiations with Iran would work but its so funny to hear McCain act like the world would come to an end if we talk to them.

...well Iran would use any meeting with the US leadership for propaganda. Also we do not want to legitimize Iran's government on account of their views of Israel.

Oumafan, McCain is not going to say the same thing Obama is going to say....McCain is trying to get a different set of voters to get him into office and it's not unlikely that he will change course if he does get elected....stranger things have happened.


Von...America is NOT a democracy. Voting is democratic however America is a Constitutional Republic, we elect leaders who in turn govern the way we want to/believe we want to be governed based on the Constitution. Voting is democratic but our system is not, we're a Republic.

I know but I'm still surprised he's tying himself to Bush on matters like that. And he and Bush have done a pretty good job unifying the Democrats. Although we would have unified anyway, they just provided a jumpstart.

I actually don't think McCain's that stupid, its politics most likely, I think he'll take a more reasonable approach to foreign policy than Bush (how could you not) but I still don't agree with him.

How does meeting with someone validate their government? That's an honest question I've never got that one.

Let me intrude a bit. To me the Clintons represent the good 'ol days of America when the economy thrived driven by technology commerce and when it was in relative peace. For those who sez she's just a women - I bet the mister will be right behind her giving necessary advices as well as moral support. But well, seems like its going to be Obama.

Well I will say after this war ends then our technology will once again spike up and our economy will boom like never before. War is the best thing for a floundering economy....think about the government grants for research and development of anything used in war: communication devices, computers, engines, etc.

After the war is done and when there is a little more political stability, when we understand where the new Pres (whomever it may be) is taking us, we're going to have the market come back up and the dollar will come back in value and everything will be right with the world.

The last couple of Presidents inherited recessions or stagnant economies.

If you want the "Reagan Democrats" you pick Evan Bayh....John Edwards #1 Has already run for VP AND got his ass fucking handed to him in VP debates and #2 John Edwards is ALMOST as much of a communist as Obama.
