The year he won the election unemployment was higher than when he left office. Even if you go 77-80 it's only a 0.1% increase, a rounding error, and irrelevant when you consider the situation Carter had inherited and had to deal with. The bottom line is there was no huge increase in unemployment to blame Carter for, unlike say Bush almost halving the value of the dollar in eight years. Now that really is significant. Bush will also end his term with unemployment significantly higher than it was under Clinton, not a 0.1% blip.
Rounding error? Is that another way of saying that you were wrong? You said "It went down" and it obviously didn't
Over the time period I chose to reflect Carter's presidency I was right. Being right is something I specialise in. If you pay attention to what happens over the next few years you'll be forced to end up saying to yourself "that English fucker was right!". On politics/geopolitics/economic issues you'll eventually be forced to admit to yourself that I'm always right about everything, and even when I am wrong about something it's a level of wrongness so insignificant to the overarching issue or subject (about which I'm always right) that it in no way affects my overall level of infallibility.
:)
...uh huh well I'm glad to know you're so humble
....yeah I wonder how many of those jobs were provided by the government.

Carter cut the government payroll more than any other president in recent history. A lot of the deregulation of the US economy that Reagan took credit for was started by Carter.
And what's the point in posting a fact-free Obama advert? Here's McCain in his own words :

Hey buddy...McCain is solutions oriented his energy policy is a lot more feasable now that he's FOR drilling in America. We can't afford to be oil prudes!
Meanwhile the Democrat Congress is trying to save the planet......if they really wanted to do that they should all just shoot themselves

Che Guavara and Obama?
Marxists for Obama?
People who hate America for Obama?
Come on, Lyle. Offshore drilling isn't going to do anything for us. The companies doing the drilling are not obligated to sell their oil exclusively to us. They can sell to anybody- more than likely China considering they're just doling out cash to anyone with oil and have only increased their demand. I'm not saying don't drill, but don't think that's going to help anything- especially within the next decade.
McCain's energy policy is designed to fool people into believing it would have an effect on gas prices. In reality his energy policy is to give billions of dollars of socialist government handouts to the oil companies on top of the roughly hundred billion in handouts the Bush administration have paid out every year for the last seven years. There isn't any bs those guys come out with that you won't believe, is there?
The Democrats want to stop the GOP policy of spending trillions of dollars of borrowed money on energy wars abroad for the exclusive benefit of a few big corporations (including obviously US oil companies) and instead invest trillions in new clean energies. Now which policy is smarter in the long run?
