How can not accepting the terms "bitching out", he has the right and option to back out anyways. The fact that PAC has enough courage to fight a bigger man at the right price is already commendable, That I can't say for Oscar right now.

How can that be an excuse when PAC already dumped Oscar twice already :lolhaha: ... PAC is one of the people where Oscar cannot impose his will...

http://boxingherald.libsyn.com/img/podcastIcon.gif BREAKING NEWS REGARDING PACQUIAO-DE LA HOYA
http://libsyn.com/images/boxingherald/callfreddie.jpg BoxingHerald.com was just informed by Manny Pacquiao trainer Freddie Roach that negotiations for Pacquiao's fight with Oscar De La Hoya have NOT closed.
Roach also stated that he "wouldn't want a dime" if Pacquiao loses to De La Hoya.
Obviously, the LA based trainer wants the mega event to happen.

I believe in Coach Freddie Roach, he sounds sincere and genuine in PAC's safety and welfare, but I still believe PAC will lose this fight.

Of course, intriguing match-ups will not die immediately... Here's one of the latest news... It seems Oscar will try to salvage it...

Defeating Oscar (tho a very difficult task for PAC) would give PAC more leverage in taking remaining bigger fights ahead.
Why did PAC back out again? Oh yeah MONEY, NOTHING BUT MONEY!!
It's respect for asking a fair share of the purse and asking what is due to him. If you learn to share more to your fellow deserving boxer then it's a sign of mutual respect. But if you want to monopolize the purse (say taking 70%) then it's a clear sign of greed for money.
Good that PAC turned down the unfair 70-30 offer from Oscar. PAC showed that Oscar can't impose his will on everybody everytime. Better for Oscar to retire now.
It's a matter of who holds the cards and it's not Pac! ODLH will still make money off Pac with a fighter/fighters within his stable and Pac will just earn a lot less. ARUM is the bad element, ODLH has the luxury of being the fighter and co-promoter while Pac has the misfortune of being an Arum puppet.

Your boy doesn't have the pull you thought and you have admitted it was all about money all along have some rep for admitting the truth.
It could be that way for now.
Before this negotiations, PAC is happy to have Soto or Valero next and Hoya is thinking Tito or the winner of Cotto-Margo.
Negotiations broke down and PAC will probably settle with Soto while Hoya has no Tito, no Margo and scrambling to find another dance partner.
Hoya needs PAC more to go out with a BANG in his last fight.
I hope Vernon will defeat Mora this time around and eventually land in the Hoya fight. At least Vernon will have a good payday...
BTW thanks for the reps... :)
.
Hmmmm settling for Soto, could turn out to be a real big mistake. Soto will test Pac with his power unlike the naturally lower weight / moved in weight JMM, EM and MAB. Soto bangs harder than any of those guys mentioned above. Sounds like the making of a Cotto vs Margarito clone match up to me .....

That's the sign of a coach who's sickness is getting the better of him. Roach should get medical attention as soon as possible

Well PAC just tried his shot on Hoya, nothing wrong with that... When it seems he can't get Hoya then he's back to his normal fight plans...
What's wrong is when a guy will try to impose an unfair sharing to the other party... Good that the other party has enough will to repulse the evil actions...
Remember PAC already dumped Hoya twice, once as his promoter and again in this fight negotiation...

It's more of a case of a certain party over estimating how much he's really worth. Bottom line is this. Pac don't want the 30%? Fine. Oscar will just move on. Rather he faces Mora, Margarito or whoever. Oscar will get paid. Believe me he loses no sleep cuz Pac turned the offer down. If anything he's probably laughing at this fool turning down his highest purse ever.

You know what, it's a big insult if small guys dumps you... not once but twice... 2 insults already...

De la Hoya still hopeful Pacquiao fight is on
A day after it was pronounced dead, the plan for a super-fight between Oscar de la Hoya and Manny Pacquiao showed signs of life after the Golden Boy himself said the Dec. 6 welterweight date was still possible, according to Internet reports Friday.
Quoting De la Hoya from his ESPNRadio1100 interview, B o x ingscene . com reported De la Hoya insisted that negotiations are still ongoing.
That, despite previous statements from the camp of the current world pound-for-pound king that it is taking no less than 40 percent of the HBO pay-per-view buys which many predict could reach $100 million.
The American boxing superstar, whose popularity is rivaled only by that of the Filipino champ, even offered nice words for Pacquiao: “There is no boring fight that Manny Pacquiao is in.”
“The fact that you have Manny Pacquiao going up to weight classes, which is not unheard of. I think it would have taken boxing once again to another level and these are the type of events that the sport needs.”
Already talk is rife that both camps are just waiting for the Beijing Olympics to end to announce that the mega-fight—De La Hoya’s fitting finale and Pacquiao’s biggest ever—will indeed take place.
Aside from the date and venue, they have agreed on the catch-weight at 147 lbs and the size of gloves to use at eight ounces.
Reports said that Top Rank’s Bob Arum’s position is if De La Hoya’s camp calls up to say they are offering a 65-35 share, he will take it.
Pacquiao's lawyer, Franklin Gacal, said they were not amenable to a reported 65-35 split of the purse.

link -> De La Hoya vs. Pacquiao: Announcement is Coming?
"I want a big fight,"; De La Hoya said. "I want to go out with a big bang. I want to make it an event. I want to make it a worldwide event because I want to show the boxing world and I want to show everybody around the world that boxing is alive and well. I want them to say, 'Look at this big event December 6.'"
The guy at the top of De La Hoya's list is Pacquiao. Last week, negotiations exploded when Pacquiao turned down De La Hoya offer of a 70-30 revenue split and told promoter Bob Arum of Top Rank to make a fight Humberto Soto for November - unless De La Hoya agrees to his counter-offer of a 60-40 split.
De La Hoya has a backup opponent of WBC junior middleweight champion Sergio Mora, but Mora has a tough fight ahead against Vernon Forrest on September 13. There is no guarantee that Mora wins or comes out of the fight without an injury, but the biggest issue has to do with the timing.
Even De La Hoya admits to Markazi that a big event for Dec. 6 would need at least two-months of heavy promotion and to wait until the middle of September, hoping that Mora wins, will not give him, HBO, or the promoters enough time to properly promote what is being billed as the final fight of his career. De La Hoya wants a deal before the month of September even hits.
"It would be very difficult"; De La Hoya said. "I want something done by next week."
