Martinez own promoter says they don't want him!

Ward still had a point though, Martinez is still the legit middleweight champ and until he is beaten GGG can't be recognised as the best. I do think his power will be too much for Martinez at this stage of his career. I think the fight will a good one though and it will be interesting to see if Martinez' boxing ability could cause GGG problems.
As for GGGs future I think he should stay at the weight and beat all possible contenders for the time being. There Martinez, Geale or Barker, Quillen and maybe Murray. Those are all fights I'd like to see him in. I don't know if Mayweather would fight him at 154 but you never know what could happen. It would be interesting to see if his power to travel to 168 and we could see
Him in there with Froch or Ward.
Anyone got a video? Skinny Ivan Drago bored me so much I had to go to sleep.
Gennady has more in his locker than many had given him credit for. Macklin was not the best middleweight in the world but the guy had given a good account of himself by hanging with Martinez and pushing Sturm all the way. He does have power but his one round demolition of Alcine was his first since 2009 when he did the same to Asikainen. Golovkin made him look far more limited and experienced than he is, cutting off the ring, feinting, and judging distance innately, and way too quickly for Macklin to adjust. It is rare for a devastating puncher like GGG to not over rely on his power a little and keep focused on improving his boxing, but that is what he does. I can't see anybody living with that kind of evolving threat, a rare treat in modern boxing. I really like Barker and can see him beating Geale but neither he nor Quillin are going to stand in the way of such a murderous puncher. Can the clangorous, commanding ,convulsive Kazakhstan cannonball, blow a hole through the supper middleweight division all the way up to the heavily defended domain of p4p number two Andre Ward ? I think he can and it will be fun watching him doing it.
I've just read on sky that HBO want to make Golovokin-Froch and Hearn thinks its a fight that could be made by mid 2014.
Which is it south or north? He's borderline mentally challenged if he thinks he's going to be fighting Floyd?
True, but has Froch really been in there with a massive puncher. Everyone before Pascal the answer is no because they were just a step below the class. Pascal, Taylor, Ward, Mack were not big punchers. Dirrel can bang but not like GGG. Also, hadnt really stopped anyone when he stepped up in class. Johnson was well past his best, Abraham could hit but never really rated him at super middle. He certainly could bang a middle so you could compare GGG to him but I dont think he was nearly as devastating as GGG and certainly doesnt have as good a tool set to land his shots. Bute could hit but never got a chance to land against Froch. Again unproven at top level. Kesseller can definitely hit but again doesnt seem to have the same devastation GGG has.
I know this looks like im belittling Frochs accomplishments which Im not. Kesseller is class, I though Bute was class, how he rallied to beat Taylor was class but I think he gets hit too easy and when fighting a really devastating puncher he will struggle. Even with his granite chin those body shots will cripple him.
But before Froch, everyone thought Abraham was a murderous puncher. In his 3 Super-Middle fights before Froch, he knocked out Miranda, brutally knocked out Taylor and floored Dirrell (even though they didn't count it). He also had a hellacious KO record at Middle. There was no evidence before Froch that he wasn't a huge puncher so I would say this is a great example. Golovkin is powerful and has a great skillset, but there is nothing to say he will carry his power up. We all believed Abraham and Pavlik would, but apparently, 8 pounds is a bigger step up than most realise.
And it is a bigger step up for GGG as he is a particularly small MW.
I believe the Miranda fight was more of a catchweight. What I mean with Abraham is he never really looked the same after the Dirrel fight and all the antics that went on in that fight. He was so lack lustered against Froch and Ward and then didnt impress agaisnt Wilczewski and Stieglitz.
I see your point completely tho and it is a fair assesment but I never really rated Abraham that highly at all and I do GGG so my view is biased.
Golovkin and Abraham are worlds apart. Abraham could definitely punch a bit down at middle but has a much more limited skill set. At super middle he was outboxed by Froch who is hardly SRL. GGG needs to clean up the Middleweights and then move up with someone less seasoned then Froch, before facing him and then making his way toward Ward. I would like to see him demolish Chavez Jr, DeGale, Eubank Jr and then ratchet it up. Probably will not happen though, he will be avoided like the plague.
I agree with your statement @Greenbeanz, but it wasn't the point I was trying to make. I only compared to make the point that power at 160 doesn't mean power at 168. Just wanted to quell all the talk that he stop Froch. Hard punching 168 fighters haven't been able to budge him, so I'm not sure what would make anyone certain Golovkin would blow him away.
