Re: Muhammad Ali Appreciation thread.
Bill, I am sure you would have loved Ali to have taken the bullet aimed for Malcolm but it did not happen thankfully and we got the good years of boxing from Ali

I imagine him as looking like Bill Paxton, because the names are so similar. Hell, he might be able to look like anyone you can think of, if he is Bill Paxton. Do not imagine him as a zombie, you might turn around find one standing behind you in line. What would you do if he leaned forward and whispered, "Hi, C.J., it's Bill come to visit." :o
Probably kick his ass for being so disrespectful to The Greatest Muhammad Ali

True.
Re: Muhammad Ali Appreciation thread.
Gorgeous George probably stole it from Jack Johnson, he never invented it.

Sorry bud, that story is a result of media propaganda. Back then Malcom referred to the media as liberal. Liberal whites c whom he saw as foxes versus wolves (conservative)
Feel free to ask me to back these points up.
1.Malcom had already went to Mecca on behalf of The Honorable Elijah Muhammad. (See FBI files on Malcom X)
2. Then student minister Farrakhan replaced Malcom as the head minister of New York. Elijah remained the leader. To this day , Minister Farrakhan begins every lecture claiming he is not the leader, but the representative and a (student)minister.
3. The media claims Farrakhan as complicit in the murder of Malik El Shabazz, but never talks about the those who went to prison for the murder...who don't acknowledge Farrakhan in the killing of the ousted minister.
4. Maybe 3 people at most on this site know the name Talmadge Hayer....if they did they would also know that Malcolm's assistant in his new movement was an agent for the FBI.....so that is never ever ever talked about.
5.Malcom was banned because the honorable Elijah Muhammad said do not speak on the assassination of President Kennedy. Their disliking shouldn't equate to disrespect. Malcolm went against orders and made the infamous chickens coming home to roost comment.
Clay, the new Muslim didn't even live in their region of ministries, so he wasn't involved nor in a position to help nor hurt.
Last Malcolm's love of the teachings allowed him to take the name Shabazz.
That is the he was taught as the oldest tribe known of his people. The tribe of Shabazz.
To the this day Minister Farrakhan asks:before you hold me accountable in Malcolm's death,go and request of the freedom information act to open ALL FBI files on Malcom and the nation.
As what breech of American security can come from opening files on the so called Negro.
I agree with his request and answer the question:the only breech is the exposing who was complicit in Malcolm's death that deals with black people who infiltrated the nation at the behest of J Edgar Hoover for reasons...
Only they can answer.
Ali wasn't even a minister. All this was over his head.

Bro, U know I got to always see both sides when U & I---Rap a taste- so let me end it like this.
I think what The Nation did to Ali was horrible. When he was making money, talking bad about Frazier (his own black brother) they didn't tell him to shut up.
Then when he needs money-cant get a fight- they were out of sight out of mind. Hypocritical. Jim Brown said Ali was the greatest at bed hopping. As a muslim he was tagging all kinds of azz. & the Nation didn't have a clue?
True enough they used him- and the name Ali given to him- made him known to muslims worldwide, but at what costs? Hypocrisy? If I were Ali, I would have left the nation on that alone, not over Malcom

Cassius 'X' Clay,
He nearly pulled the trigger anyway. He knew Malcolm 'X' was a marked man.
He might as well had put an 'X' on Malcolm's chest.
Just who thrived after Malcolm 'X' was put down ............... ;)

Re: Muhammad Ali Appreciation thread.
Great man indeed. Facing Ali is probably the best testament. Take the good with the bad. He had a horrible mouth, demeaned fighters in the most shallow of ways.
But no one complained about the paydays they got fighting Ali.
Ken Norton "Me and my son were eating hotdogs regular until the Ali fight. After Ali we ate steak regularly."
My favorite comes from Ron Lyle- when asked if he thought the fight was stopped prematurely he stated if it weren't for Ali, would you be talking to me now? 'bout what? ;D
BTW- that straight right hand Ali landed on Lyle that sent him reeling- was heavy handed- followed by a hellatious flurry. He knew how to end a fight when a fighter got hurt.
