Haven't had time to watch the fights,can you fwooking believe it? The 1 weekend my best fighters are fighting and my net didn't work?! What the fwook! Anyway,sounds like Cotto was awesome and in my opinion,P4P material. I said it before,he's fought a lot of good fighters,and Quintana is the cream of the crop.(and someone fill me in but didn't Quintana KO a guy who ko'ed Collazo in 3? I forgot his name,will check that later,makes Cotto's win look even more impressive)
As for Tony,sounds like he was a bit rusty but having seen/read 3 round by rounds,sounds like he was a deserved winner. Regardless of who broke what and where,Tony is a slow starter anyway and he was taking on an opponent many in this forum predicted would either win big on points or knock him out. I recognised it was a tough fight,Clottey is one of the most dangerous and avoided WW and he(Clottey) knew it would be a one in a lifetime chance so I'm glad Tony won. Tony should be given credit for taking such a dangerous fight in the first place,this was no Santos Pakau,no Sharmba Mitchell,not some shot fighter or fighter coming off a loss,it was a dangerous,hungry and practically unbeaten guy.

The guy your talking about that CQ, KO'ed in 3 is Edwin Cassiani not a big name. I wouldd't put tooo much emphasis on this but it does show that he can spark someone out (CQ).
Even without this I still think Cotto beats Cintron & Collazo....

It just makes Cotto's win seem even better!
As for Margarito,having seen the fight,I had it same as Bernstein(commentator,I think that's his name). I think Margarito beat an awesome fighter in Clottey,and I think Clottey could cause anyone in the division problems simply because he never lowers his guard! I felt Tony was wearing him out towards the end though.
I was slightly dissappointed in Margarito,usually,his punches have very good snap but for some reason,possibly ring rust,possibly the bad ankle,and apart from the bodyshots(which although he used well,he should have used more of)his punches lack the power they usually have. I'm not saying he is a murderous puncher but he certainly has some pop in both hands,more than he displayed against Clottey.
Next year should be abig year for Margarito,I'm looking forward to it..

was not the LEAST bit impressed with Margarito's performance tonight, Clottey showed he had what it takes to give Toney trouble.
was not particular impressed with Cotto. seems he has alot of flaws technically, and defensively, but he did what he did best and that was BOMB AWAY and once he landed that bomb on the LIVER it was Curtains for Quintana.

Afternoon,
After my weekend of First Aid training, building shelters, stretchers and generelly learning how to rescue people stuck on mountains.
Anyhow, saw the Lacy and Wright fihgts on my Sky+, and was entertained by both, seemingly good, competitive (ish) fights.
First off, the Lacy decision was a bit of a robbery, I though Tsypko exposed him enough, especially as the fight went on, and started rocking Lacy back with some good straights, and hooks which shook Lacy up a bit. After the fourth Lacy didn't show too much, only occasionally catching Tsypko, and as it turns out, he does seem to be the one-dimensional fighter that Calzaghe made him appear (sorry JT, but I didn' see much to suggest he warrants another title shot).
As for Wright, he was very impressive, and if he really stepped it up could have stopped Quartey, but seemed to settle for the decision. Quartey threw a lot, and the second knockdown looked very harsh indeed, but he was outclassed and outmatched in Wright.

watched the recording last night . Quartey- Wright was fun , Was a nice surprise, both guys standing in the center putting on an exciting boxing exhibition. Hats off to Ike for climbing up and being competitive. , and props to Winky for putting on a thriller offensive performance. If he fought that way against Taylor he would be champion. O0

I think you're probably right, though Taylor obviously has way more power than Quartey, and Winky was getting hit with more good shots than he usually does as a result of opening up so much. Though it hasn't been seriously tested though, I suspect Winky has a very good chin.

Although I wouldn't say Hopkin was a fraud(who else could he have fought?),he was a dirty fighter but I can't say anything,Ponce De Leon is one of my fave boxers and he's a dirty dirty bastard!! ;D :D

Good man? Respectable? Did you see his fight with Antwon Echols? He turned him around and hit him directly in the back of his head. You can cause permanent injury and end someones career that way. Then he shows what a sore loser he is when JT beat him. Any respectable man would take it in stride and not make excuses. He simply did not do enough to win either fight and he cries politics. He went from being called dirty his whole career to being called crafty when he beats a couple of legends that came up about 20 pounds in weight to fight him.

Honestly...I was a bit surprised that Cotto handled him that easily...no shit.

Wright's winning the fight but these commentaters are making it seem like he's dominating Quartey. Which ain't the case. Quartey getting very little credit from the HBO crew
I don't think tha tit was a total domination...not along the lines of the Trinidad fight...but he was having a pretty good go with Quartey.
I was impressed with Ike...but Winky is Winky...& it's such a tuff sell to actually believe that anyone can be too effective agianst him.
His defense is a bitch...but he's opening up & taking some shots now for the fans & I think Wright probably gained quite a few this weekend.
