Re: Last TV show/Box Set you watched? (Flag spoilers)
Started 1883 looks very promising. What sucks is not avoiding spoilers on other media so already know a death or two :p. Still though love the genre. Also watched Rain on Netflix. There's actually a Fallout series beginning on Prime video slated for April and will be looking into that. Was highly addicted to that game for quite some time years ago. Another in a long line of games trying to transition to features so might be night and day.

Re: Last TV show/Box Set you watched? (Flag spoilers)
Finished Loki which was like watching a Dr Who series.
Started Gen V which is good and up there with the Boys.

Re: Last TV show/Box Set you watched? (Flag spoilers)
Revisited Uncle, Nick Helm. Love Him. Crying shame his Christmas tune has never seen the light of day. On the back of that watched Trying. I love Esther Smith.
Also rewatched Ted Lasso. Roy Kent is a great character. His relationship with Phoebe is magic.

Re: Last TV show/Box Set you watched? (Flag spoilers)
I know I've done this before and it's not exactly a box set. And to add to that, it'll mean next to nothing to anyone overseas. But the Gary Neville 'stick top football' Youtube series is brilliant. Roy Keane is top drawer, he really loves Ian Wright. His little 'me and you' nod when Gill gives him the black card is brilliant and genuinely heartwarming.

Re: Last TV show/Box Set you watched? (Flag spoilers)
Can't remember who flagged this one first time around. But series 2 of The Tourist is on iPLayer. First series was brilliant.
-
Re: Last TV show/Box Set you watched? (Flag spoilers)
Started Ted Lasso which so far is brilliant. Love the characters and storyline so far.
Also started season 2 What If.
-
Re: Last TV show/Box Set you watched? (Flag spoilers)
Finally picked back up new season of Stranger Things. Guess covid was cause of delayed season? It's an odd genre but get a kick out of listening to all the 20 yr olds at work who watch it and talk like they know how actually bitchin' the 80's were ;D

Watching Death Note which is a Manga series where a high school boy finds a book which grants him the supernatural ability to kill anyone whose name he writes in its pages.
The Japanese student uses the Death Note to carry out a worldwide massacre of individuals whom he deems immoral and to create a crime-free society.

Not seen any of them but will check it out. Attack on Titans had very good art and just trying to finish the last 30 episodes of Black Clover of the 170. They take ages.

okay the curse was weird as fuck & the last episode was truely bizarre. i don't really recommend it unless you are curious. i liked some of the camera work, shots from far away make it feel like the some of actors/ extras don't know they are being filmed if that makes sense, touches on what is real & fake in what is presented to the tv viewer, it even has a small dick storyline

Yes I finished it recently and you did not have to know about football/soccer at all. The difference in language/culture between USA and British was very funny.

Re: Last TV show/Box Set you watched? (Flag spoilers)
The Office all the way. Also that show about Gladiators on Netflix was pretty good, recommend it (only 5 episodes).

Saw "With Drawn Arms" and liked it.
A documentary about Tommie Smith, who along with John Carlos did a raised gloved fist protest at the 200-meter sprint final gold medal ceremony at the 1968 Mexico City Olympic Games.

Watched the old ones and loved them. Live action are normally a let down so let me know if it is worth it.

Re: Last TV show/Box Set you watched? (Flag spoilers)
Shameless trailer plug. On one hand I cannot believe this franchise is still going ;D on the other hand I remain all in. Season 7 specifically was literally depressing and saw so many fans leave. 3 spin offs (tonight 4) were/are good except for the dreadful spin off "The world beyond" with all the teens from a couple years ago. But the main lead Andrew Lincoln aka Rick Grimes has been assumed "dead" and written off some 6 years ago. Well now the questions are answered. https://youtu.be/o_kTUnzp5ng
-
Re: Last TV show/Box Set you watched? (Flag spoilers)
all the spinoffs have been rubbish. it was good to see rick again but the writing has really fallen off & much too convenient. spicoli, i've seen you mention the pacific & band of brothers before. you might like the new show masters of the air
-
Re: Last TV show/Box Set you watched? (Flag spoilers)
I'm going to have to go back to the spin offs at some point because none have grabbed my attention. I really didn't give a shit about Maggie and Negan and only slightly more about Daryl, because it's Daryl. I've picked the show up and put it down more times than I care to remember. I'm all in now so will finish it in time.
Watch Accused: The Hampstead Paedophile Hoax | Stream free on Channel 4
Nutter, starts a relationship with an even bugger nutter. Between them they convince their kids to claim that everyone in their local community and school are satanic paedo baby killers. The whole thing blows up and becomes a magnet for even more nutters around the World. When I say magnet, I don't mean in the physical sense. That would require leaving the basement.

Just discovered Boondocks which is an animated series for adults and very funny.

Re: Last TV show/Box Set you watched? (Flag spoilers)
Fallout 1st season on Prime. Not going to lie I used to be addicted to Fallout 3 when it first dropped ;D. Was skeptical how it would translate to a series as the history of games to movies and series is not stellar, but it was pretty solid. It doesn't stick 100 percent to the story and timeline but pretty cool to see so many small details.

Re: Last TV show/Box Set you watched? (Flag spoilers)
Rick and Morty, little demon are very good funny animation.
-
Re: Last TV show/Box Set you watched? (Flag spoilers)
Going in for the rewatch. Safe to say that the 8th and final season of GOT did reviews no favors. But it really did have some great characters. Tyrion one of the best talkers throughout.

Watching animations Rick and Morty which is very funny and Ninja Kamui which is a stereotypical anime.
Also nearly completed Fallout which is actually very good and helps having kids explain it as they play the game. Beginning to hate the 1950’s themes and designs that is throughout the show.
-
Re: Last TV show/Box Set you watched? (Flag spoilers)
Finally started The Ozarks and actually getting sucked into it.

Kids always willing to school us geezers ;D. I love the retro theme and the soundtracks. Show/game franchise does a great job with displaying the cold war hysteria but same time follies and brink of all out nuclear war post WWII. It was viewed rather simplistically at the time in the States, almost cartoonish in a way, that there was meaningful life in the aftermath. We actually did "duck n cover" drills in school thinking we had a chance :-X

I am sure we did drills at school hiding under our desks too.
You are right the 1950's songs were good, who can not love the voice of Nat King Cole.

Better Call Saul is an absolute masterpiece. It will explain a lot of stuff from the Breaking Bad timeline that you will not have seen. It is a different beast at a different pace and if you didn't already think so after watching BB you will see what a fantastic actor Bob Odenkirk is.

The character Saul Goodman is a vile and horrible man. To watch a series of him will be hard work but will watch it after I have finished the full series.
Have you seen the film on the character Jessie Pinkman?

There is a lot more to Saul Goodman and BCS explains a lot of why he is like he is. I think it is even better than BB personally. You see quite a lot of the other characters from BB that helps flesh them out and there are some great thriller / action set pieces as well as loads of black humour. The Jessie Pinkman film is an enjoyable action movie spinoff thing if you do not expect too much of it.

After finishing Breaking Bad, I am going to start Malcolm in the Middle because of the great acting of Bryan Cranston.
