Why doesn't American accent describe him? Gibson is American.
He's Australian, isn't he?
He was born in Peeksgill, New York in 1956, his grandmother was australian in fact she was an opera singer, they went to australia in 1968 sydney in fact. His mother is actually Irish and Mel holds dual citizenship Irish - American

Rather complicated. Fair play on the info though! ;)

I don't get the whole dual citizenship thing. Pick a country, already. I think Ireland just wants to claim Gibson- I don't think he's ever lived there.

It's not a matter of Ireland wanting to claim Gibson. It has to do with Irish law whereby those who have an Irish-born parent automatically are considered an Irish citizen. In very few instances, you will also be eligible if you have a great-grandparent who is or was an Irish-born citizen.

Last movie I watched was "The Wolfman".
It was alright. Pretty good special effects and gore. Bare bones story though, and Anthony Hopkins kinda sleep walked thru his parts. He's a much better actor than what he showed in the movie.
And I recently saw Universal Soldier: Regeneration with Jean Claude Van Damme, Dolph Lundgren AND Andre Arlovski !
That was a pleasant surprise and actually pretty fuckin bad ass. Probably the best Van Damme movie in nearly 10 years.
I highly reccomend it to any action or Van Damme fans

re: last movie you watched (Flag Up SPOILERS)
I watched two great films this weekend.
Un Prophet which was best film I have seen in many months.
Un prophète (2009)
and
Dead Snow
Død snø (2009)
This was a hilarious swedish zombie flick , very gory and very entertaining.
Look at me watching all the cultured subtitled stuff...:o
Now about to order a pizza and watch Hurt Locker - watch this space for verdict
re: last movie you watched (Flag Up SPOILERS)
i been sufering with tonsilitous all weekend so spent most of weekend in bed watchin films as cat get any antibitoics from doc till tomorrow so watched loadsa films
dead man running this is another british crime movie but is actually pretty good its abt a guy who has to pay a loan shark back in 100 grand in 24 hrs. 50 cent plays the loan shark & although its a pretty wooden performance he isnt in it alot. i slagged off british crime films recently so am happy to report that this one i enjoyed.
The stepfather thought this one was good flick its been done plenty of times before but this is better than most, a guy on the run after butchering his previous family moves in with a new family & the son just back from military school doesnt trust him but everyone else thinks he is the perfect stepfather.
conspiracy tv movie abt recreation of the Wannsee Conference where the Nazi Final Solution phase of the Holocaust was devised.
also watched the bourne identity & collateral
re: last movie you watched (Flag Up SPOILERS)
that Stepfather sounds a bit like a John Travolta one I saw a few years ago (can't remember what its called). Will give that a try
Forgot to say I also watched Zombieland last night . Very funny with a genius cameo from Bill Murray - well recommended

zombieland was a good flick, short & sweet, murray is a legend
the stepfather reminded me a bit of the film disturbia
re: last movie you watched (Flag Up SPOILERS)
I liked that one - the film I was thinking of was Domestic Disturbance.
Bet its a mixture of that, Disturbia and Mr Woodcock ;D
