I mean we all know what happened to gold medalist the american dream david reid ;) :)
Im hoping Ajose Olusegun gets some bigger fights to see what he's all about. Spent too much time fucking around in his last fight, look forward to seeing him again though.

I have one suggestion, but this is neither particularly bold, nor is 'my' fighter particularly young. However, as he is still younger than Povetkin and only has two pro-fights under his belt, I will mention him anyway: Cuban heavyweight Odlanier Solis. He will be fighting for a legit heavyweight belt before this decade is over. Mark my words.
While Povetkin won the Amateur World Championships in Super Heavyweight in 2003 and the Olympics 2004, Solis won the Heavyweight title (as he also did in 2003). In 2005 - as Povetkin was already turning pro - Solis moved weights, and then won the WC Super Heavyweight title.
Solis defected Cuba last year, turned pro with a debut in April. Now has 2 fights under his belt - Andreas Sidon (32-7) and Alex Mazikin (10-1) - both won by 1st round knockouts. Sidon was a pretty inspired choice for a pro debut - a veteran fighter being 20-2 in his last 22 fights (only losses during this period coming against worldranked fighters Alexander Dimitrenko (WBC #6, WBA #9, WBO #3) and Taras Bidenko (WBA #7)) - which makes it all the more impressive that Solis actually stepped up in competition for his 2nd (and latest) fight. However Mazikin, with a pretty good amateur pedigree himself (2-time Olympian, silver medal at World Championships 2001 after losing the final to Ruslan Chagaev), was 10-1 with the only loss being a MD to Taras Bidenko.
Also take note of a fellow Cuban olympian: Yoan Pablo Hernandez (Cruiserweight, 22 years, 11-0). Not quite up there with Solis (or perhaps others mentioned in this thread, but definetely worth following).
the gold medal was a jinx not to mention luck for reid...dirrel won the bronze like floyd who is also from flint..dirrle is much better than reid...much much muich much much better than reidQuote:

But Dirrell has the right stuff..Good style.. Great management..Dibella is doing great things for his fighters he has alot of prospects and alot of prospects breaking out of the mould and becoming stars in the boxing world..
I mean.. Dirrel, berto, malignaggi, sanatana.. the list goes on.. He'll be well looked after and he'll get the right fights.. they wont protect dirrell like other promoters but they will know when he is ready
Definately Dan..Quote:

Hes a great fighter too.. Only thing that worries me about Gato is i often hear him say in interviews that he boxes to set up a great life for him and his family..
I get the impression he is more interested in making a comfy life for him and his fam and not completely dedicated to be a world class champion.. I think he could be in future.. But i sometimes wonder..
VERY! entertaining though :)

Specially for Fire:
Duddy is From Northern Ireland: Derry to be exact. He's a middleweight of course.
He's getting Really Popular Over here now. Record at the moment is 20-0-0 15 ko's
Won 100 outta 130 amateur fights fought a good bit internationally. Ranked in the top ten by: the IBF, wbo, Wba. He uses a sort of Old school Middleweight style, with a good dash of power and a solid chin. Next prospective fight may be against the Irish light middle weight/ Middleweight and Supermiddleweight champion Jim Rock (My cousin :)) Promoted by this funny Irish Ropes Organisation. (They better have space for one more middleweight, I'm on my way dudes)
Froch is from Nottingham in England, Boxes at Supermiddleweight. 21-0-0 17 ko's
He's currently British n Commonwealth SM Champ, and the WBC's number one contender.Unfortunately because he's english i don't no as much as his amateur record as i do of the guys like duddy and lee who i boxed with, but i do know he won the world championships in 200, so he's pretty quality. He's promoted by Mick Hennesey and they've been (non-commitingly) calling out Calzaghe for years.
I'v seen a number of his fights, although boxing out of a conventional orthodox stance he often adopts the hands down by the waist switch hitting style. He is entertaining and he can bang.
Although from two different weight divisions if I had to make a call id say Froch is currently better, with Duddy having the greater potential.
Carl has gained more from his previous fights and is a little ahead of John at the moment. However with fights like Rock on the horizon for Duddy and the amount he seems to learn each fight, John will be the more well rounded finished article. IMO
There's this other Middleweight from Galway in Ireland tho.....Maaaaaannnn He's jus Scary.
I know the boxer who fought Khan last and he was pushed up a weight just for that fight so he didnt impress me in fact he has yet to impress me
I have got strong views on how much money possibly left Warrens hand for Khans final amatuer bout too :o :o
i really hope wen he fights someone who can really challenge him that he is put on his arse cus his is already an arogant big headed arrrrrrrrrrgggggggggggghhhhhh
seriously he grates me so bad!! >:mad >:mad >:mad
ive met him too and wrote about it b4
it was at the hatton moussa fight in sheffield he had a woman wit him as i ran past to go see MAB and she said sorry no more autographs i just burst out laughing ad said i'd rather have micky vann's autograph than khan's
i dont know what it is about him but i cant stand him
I think hes quite a nice humble lad to be honest..Quote:
