True but since you want to talk about the past (Cause you did mention the Torres, Zab fights) how well did PBF look with JLC pressure? How well did PBF look with Chavez pressure? Hhhmmmm!! I give you a few to think about that.

Who are you talking about here.
You said Torres is a decent fighter, but the fact is 'he' (who's he? Are you still talking about Torres or you talking about Cotto?)
Cause if your talking about Cotto can you please with that extended knowledge that you poses tell us what other fight besides the Torres fight has Cotto been down in cause I'd like to see it?
If you we're still talking about Torres in that sentence then go ahead and disreguard my question. ;)
Also keep this in mind Trinindad was on the canvas often in his career he was always written off in his career for that wow! he sure turned out to be better then what people gave 'em credit for. So Cotto wen't down if you've seen the actual fight you'll notice that Torres pushes Cotto to actually drop him. But regardless we saw what happened in the end. ;) You can be kicking my a** for 11 rounds 2 minutes and 59 seconds but if I knock your a** out in the last second then guess what? I'm still better then you even if you won almost the entire fight. Your a trainer of amateur boxers you should know that a fight ain't over 'til it's over.

Well wether they can all beat him or not is still to be seen. For starters 2 of the 4 names you listed are fighting so guess what? Logic tells you that the winners gonna wan't a piece of Cotto just as much Cotto will want a piece of the winner. I don't think Margarito can beat Cotto even after the way in which he beat Golden. I just think Cottos to smart to try and trade with Margarito he'll out box and out hustle Margarito. As far as ODLH well he's my fav. fighter but the dudes gotten old and he showed it he couldn't close out the show against PBF and again reminded me that hes never had good legs they tend to give out on him. I think Cottos too hungry and young and would quite possibly hurt/beat ODLH and when I say beat I mean it in every sense of the word.

If it does then have at it. I can teach you how to put that statement in your signature so that everytime you post here it will appear along with your posts. Let me know. :)
I'll start at the beginning, that is true that early in his career Floyd was bothered by fighters who put pressure on him, but he grew from it and we can all agree from his more recent fights that he is much better at it than he was prior to those tests he was put through. Secondly, I was referring to Torres as a decent fighter, as I feel that Cotto is very good, yet not elite. He has impressed me with his grit and determination, yet my sole point is that he has not defeated an upper eschelon guy at the top of his game, and I don't feel he has what it takes to do it. Tito was knocked down mostly by damn good opposition, or am I wrong??? It does not compare to Cotto, who I believe has been down in 3 or 4 different fights through a 30 fight career. His chin is very suspect, he is quick with his hands but slow of foot and there's no denying that. Heart makes up for a lot of his shortcomings, but against the best I feel it will not matter. Margarito is just as aggressive and strong, but he can take a punch and is a physically bigger man. Floyd is just out of this world talented, and Hatton in a copy of Cotto, and the one I feel he could beat and make a great fight with. If theres one thing you can notice about Cotto it's that he always circles to the same side, we all know which way that is, and if you slip his jab he's wide open for a staright right, Floyd's best punch and one that Mosley hit him with all night....that's just one of 5 or 6 glaring flaws that a top fighter will expose to an even greater extent in one of his next 2 or 3 fights, but I will be watching because he is exciting to watch fight. Finally, I'm just using the same thing everyone uses to discredit other fighter's wins. EVeryone is building up Cotto too much for beating a 36 year old Mosley when they write off Oscars destruction of a 33 year old Chavez because Julio was TOO OLD....am i wrong? :)

Nicly put ,
dont it make you love those older champions like Chavez who gave us those last fights,like when he fought Tszyu as well;
I was shaking my head for him before that fight and i did for Tszyu too just before he fought Ricky.
But I admire these men even more for putting it all on the line and giving the younger stronger fighters the big shot.

LOL ;D OMG now I'm stupid and you are a professional Boxing analyst. :rofmaoal: :LOLATYOU:
NO....actually I'm an amatuer boxing trainer, but anyway I got a little carried away nothing personal, you're just blinded by the fact that this guy is an icon in your nation, and there's nithng wrong with that.
The fact is, he beat an old Mosley,
got hurt by a Zab Judah with no real power, and was on the mat against Torres....can you dispute any of these points.
What will happen when he is in the ring against the cream of the crop, the other stars of the division who are all in their prime, ie Hatton, Mayweather...or a harder puncher in Margarito, who would makes Torres's power look a little above average. He is a very good fighter, but he will be another Fernando Vargas, too suspect a chin and too many ways to hit him.
OK, you made me do it!
Cotto was hurt by Zab but that is the same Zab that knocked down (although it wasn't counted) and at another point, stunned mayweather.
When was the last time you saw floyd fighting someone in their prime? Not lately. Not in years.
You can call Mosley old all you want but he had been fighting at a much higher level than DLH lately and Cotto beat him unanimously unlike the split floyd got against DLH.
P.S.- Mosley beat DLH twice.
P.S.S.- I can't remember who it was but it was either Cotto or floyd who knocked out Zab and the other won a decision. Can you tell me which was which?

Re: IT'S OFFICIAL. FLOYD WOULD DESTROY COTTO
bigjess31- WTF are you talking about? Chop hurted Floyd a few times and castillo beat Floyd in their first fight. Floyd got a gift decision. ;D BTW cotto has only being down only ONCE. He was hurted and pull down by Torres( at 140), but he really hasn't being hurt at 147. Morons like you are the ones who keep saying that he is getting hurt every time someone lands a good punch on him. ::**

JCC was an OLD 33. Mosley is a fairly young 36. Chavez had been through like 90 fights when he met Oscar the first time. Chronological age isn't always an indicator of "ring" age. Erik Morales is only 33 in chronological age, but in terms of "ring" age, he's 55. In addition to having way more rounds, Chavez had the kind of style that leaves you shot at 33.
Besides total number of fights, two types of fighters tend to get old fast.
1. Guys who go to war and eat lots of punches flush. Chavez qualifies.
2. Guys who struggle to make weight and don't keep in great shape between fights. I don't know if Chavez was like this, but this has spelled an early end for lots of guys - Morales, for example, probably Ricky Hatton in the future.
Shane always keeps in great shape, and although he's been in some wars, he haven't taken nearly the damage Chavez took by the time JCC fought Oscar. Look at Bernard...the guy has ALWAYS been in shape, and he fights a style that keeps him out of harms way, and honestly. You can't use Shane age to discredit Cotto's win. You can't compare Shane at 36 to Chavez at 33 and just use that number. Shane is past his best, but he's still a top-caliber fighter, and JCC was so far past his best it's not even funny.
Re: IT'S OFFICIAL. FLOYD WOULD DESTROY COTTO
well, i think cotto has a chance against mayweather, so does hatton.
i mean floyd lost against castillo and i think he drew with de la hoya
Re: IT'S OFFICIAL. FLOYD WOULD DESTROY COTTO
i think cotto has a great chance actually, hes taken on 2 very quick fighters in judah and shane. that should indicate something.

Corley hurt Mayweather for split second other than that Mayweather kicked Corley's a** thats totally different to Cotto vs Corley where Cotto was stumbling around the ring like a drunk monkey.
I think Cotto has the kind of chin where you can crack his chin but not break it if that makes sense ??

Sorry im Mayweather fan but i have to step in here Mosley has very good power i think your find he has 44 wins and 35 KO.
And i think your find Judah has 35 wins and 25 KO and has rocked mostly every fighter he has been in with including Tszyu and Mayweather.
And Torres at that time almost had 100 percent KO record i don't care if your Amateur boxing trainer or not i also go to a boxing gym does that mean i more know more than anyone else here ?? no it doesn't i really don't think you know what your on about if you say Judah has no real power and you say Torres only has power a little above average even though at that time only one of his fights went the distance and have you even watched Torres fight ?? because Cotto took so many power shots in that 2nd round i was very surprised he wasn't stopped because he was in there with a banger plus that so called knockdown as you put it was a push.
And imo ever since moving up to 147 Cotto's chin has looked even better because he looks so much stronger.
Re: IT'S OFFICIAL. FLOYD WOULD DESTROY COTTO
....vs a few opponents Cotto just doesn't give a damn about defense... Corley, Torres...Torres was a late replacement for someone and Cotto just said "fuck it I'm going for the kill" and he got rocked....vs Corley he said "Chop Chop can't hurt me so I am going to go for the KO no matter what"
Miguel Cotto has a good style to pressure Floyd and especially after watching how Hatton handles him it will give Miguel more to study on how to beat Floyd.
I doubt Floyd's chin is as good as Mosley's....but PBF will no doubt look to land the right cross and uppercut as that's open on Miguel but the more Floyd punches the more he puts himself at risk.
