Think Progress Poll: 64 percent of Republicans want Palin to run for president in 2012.
:o ;D
or should it be :vd:
no this is way too fantastic for that.
And what will happen when Government runs healthcare??? Well that's simple, we'll pay into the system, Congress will use the money to fund other little projects they deem important, and then we'll have a bankrupted system that limits the ammount and quality of healthcare each of us will receive. And in the process the medical fields will become less competitive and we'll get lower quality doctors and nurses....that'll be really fun Kirkland
Another fact-free post from you. The government won't be running healthcare, just operating a giant insurance plan that competes with the half dozen private insurance monopolies to pay the existing doctors and hospitals for healthcare. (If you're lucky and the bill passes.)
Do you think that is where it stops Kirk? I feel pretty certain that once we start down this road we will ultimately end with a single payer system.
Kirkland a Corporation HAS to make a profit the Government does not ergo the Government is at the advantage and will eventually put an end to private systems of healthcare.
Why would I be considered "lucky" if this bill passes??? I already have insurance, AND I get to choose my Doctors! Healthcare isn't a RIGHT it's an option, a choice, and people choose to spend money on other things rather than pay for health insurance, it's not like the majority of people don't have the money to pay for health insurance, they just choose to spend it on other stuff...it's not my fault they don't think health insurance is important.
Well, that's a puzzler! The only possibility I can see is that after the debacle of the 2008 campaign, must Republicans turned Democrat. The only ones left are her fans so yeah the perentage is high ;D
Anyways, I'm sure the poll is crap, or else it was secretly corrupted by democrats, because I'll bet the percentage of Democrats that want her to run for president is just as high.
Ah, so the government can run a cheaper healthcare insurance system than the private sector can. It's good we both agree on that. but that's a feature Lyle, not a bug. Cheaper healthcare is what the US economy has to have otherwise it'll seize up.
And you're right about not being lucky. Look how healthcare is rationed by the government in Canada for instance :
Just six months ago, the clinic delivered same-day care to most callers, the gold standard from a health perspective. But in October the delays crept to four days, then 19 in November and 25 in December. In January, HealthServe temporarily stopped accepting new patients, and almost immediately 380 people put their names on a waiting list for when the crunch eases.
Oh wait, that's not Canada, it's North Carolina :
In the past two years, North Carolina's number of uninsured has climbed 22.5 percent, the biggest jump in the nation, according to an analysis by the North Carolina Institute of Medicine, a quasi-state agency. Nationwide, about 22 percent of adults do not have health insurance. Here in North Carolina, 25 percent of adults -- or 1.8 million people -- have no coverage. An additional 9 percent are underinsured.

You'll still be able to choose your doctors under the new system. You'll just have the option of changing to a government plan which will act exactly like your current insurer does, just charge you less and not refuse treatment when you need it. The government is not taking over the healthcare system, this is just untrue rubbish you're being fed by whatever media outlets you're watching. And if the government insurance option isn't eviscerated by lobbyists before it passes/in the future it'll lead to cheaper healthcare for all and prevent the US from going bankrupt in a decade or two.
North Carolina has been run into the ground by the Democrats
My 2 cents on the whole thing:
Obama is not the messiah, nobody has the power to turn the tide over the very bad last decade for the US. To see him as a savior is plainly wrong, biaised and a blind assumption. He can just do his best and let's see how his best is. HOwever, if you let me chose between him, McCain (which campaign has been labeled as pure improvisation by most specialists for cause) and the greedy DLC monkey, Clinton, there is no choice possible. The savior? Sure no. THe best alternative? On paper, Most definitely. He's not perfect but did a few things he promised and to me, it's a good start:
- nobody from his cabinet is on the payroll of huge corporations
- Restablishing relation with europe and Canada, relation greatly wounded by the Bush-Cheney tandem.
- putting a limit to te wage of CEO from companies that receive government help to 500 000 instead of te many millions plus golden parachutes bonus.
- kept at least 2 republicans in place to work with the Democrats as he promised it
- Closing Guantanamo, one of te worst aberrations in the history of a country that has been built on liberty
- re-opening the ban on stem cell researches, one of the most important field of researches of the XXIst century.
- Repositioning the USA against the use of torture, which was mangled during the Bush era
To me, it is indeed a good start.
Thus said, Palin is one of the scarriest thing I've ever seen;
1) she supports the republican party... wearing the democrats scarf, after more than 10 years, can't you just make the difference between your elephant and a donkey? It says a lot about her aptitude when it'll come to more important issues: Palin Fashion Includes Scarf That Encourages Voting...For Democrats
2) She never had a passport and barely left Alaska. That in itself is her business but when she claims that she's good at international politics by stating that "Alaska is close to Russia therefore I have russian experience" is a lot scarier than a guy (Biden) asking by mistake to an handicap to stand up: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IwWGS73v4_k
3) A Lady who finds the way to spend 150 000 in luxury clothes during the worst modern economic situation the US ever face is the wrongest thing ever, especially when it is during the sole campaign and that it has been bought with money from tax payers; Republicans spent $150,000 on Sarah Palin's clothes - Times Online
4) Using her handicap children and stolling him around like a circus monkey during the campaign to drag some pity in an attempt to picture her like a "household hero" is plainly wrong: http://www.nytimes.com/2008/11/03/us...3families.html Especially when that living hell is the first one to cut budgets for disabled children in her whole State: Palin’s Budget Cut for Severely Disabled Children in Alaska
5) FOr not knowing what a vice-president is supposed to do and to be in the white office: ""They're in charge of the U.S. Senate so if they want to they can really get in there with the senators and make a lot of good policy changes that will make life better for Brandon and his family and his classroom." That's the superdumbness se answered to a third grader about what the vice president does. Interview with NBC affiliate KUSA in Colorado, Oct. 21, 2008
6) An ever more racist stint than Biden could have ever said: "Idon't believe in interracial relationships, I was born in Idaho and raised to believe that whites and blacks shouldn't mix or date each other" (1986)"
7) because freely and without any proofs, she makes one of the biggest and unacceptable accusation, saying that Obama is frolicking with terrorists: Palin: Obama's 'terrorist... pallin' around': The Swamp or Palin hits Obama for 'terrorist' connection - CNN.com
So yeah, here's why I hate Pallin and why I think McCain wasn't the man for the task, especially after he confesses he chose her after a 15 minutes conversation. HOw can you make such an important decision for te nation after a MERE 15 minutes? I sure do not contest what he did for the country but I sure do contest such dubious behavior at a such advanced age: The Real Story Behind How McCain Chose Sarah Palin | Election 2008 | AlterNet
Sarah Palin should probably do some more breeding and stay away from politics. Mothering is for her, running a country isn't.
George Bush should have done the same. If went out in a blaze of glory as a President that physically gave birth to a blessed baby boy it would have done wonders for his approval ratings and saved the country 4 plus years of shit.
My post was a bit weird....it made sense but probably not in the way I outlined it. I won't bother trying to explain it as it was a bit weird.
