Cotto vs. Floyd Jr. & "Canelo" Alvarez vs. Mosley - Saturday night fight thread

Canelo should have went for it in the tenth round. No way was the gap that big.

His defense isn't that good, more often than not he fights forgoing defensive responsibilities, and he fights in spots. I don’t know I think a guy who is not a KO boxer and is reliant on technique would give Canelo a spanking.

However he does have good hand speed, he goes to the body very well, he doesn't throw wide, decent stamina. He's a good guy and I think he can be a proper champ if he avoids John Molina or he does fight him, fight in Mexico or Texas and not in the east coast.

Scoring was too lopsided.

I hope Mosley is intelligent enough to call it quits now, the dude has had a long career.

Alvarez wins by a UD., no surprise, not really too bad of a fight. Canelo is a tough kid who will be hard for anyone to beat.

I wouldn't be concerned.

The only way Floyd loses is if his skills have completely deteriorated and I don't think that is very likely.

I have a misguided desire to see both Manny and Floyd lose so we can get on with the future of this sport. Do hope we'll see some progress tonight ;D
