But the main even was an immense fight.
De-Gale got way to much credit for those slaps to Jacks gloves and arms. Somewhere Joe Calslappy is smiling
He definitely looked the worse for wear after the fight. He talks like a fruit-loop at the best of times, But with tooth missing at the end DeGale was speaking like he was halfway up queer street (lol)
De-Gale could have fight with his Grandmother and at the end he’d still look like he just came out surgery from a facelift. He marks up real easy. But people see a missing tooth and blood and their brains are conditioned to think that person lost.
Jack was the better more consistent fighter. De-Gale the more flashy. Those type of fighters are hard to beat on points. Mayweather was angry about the decision, but that is how he won his close decision fights every time, on flashy noticeable punches.
So he needs to understand why DeGale got the better side of the judges. But he is right. Jack won this, not by much, but he won. But having said that I'm not mad at the scores. No way on earth was it a robbery. Nobody should have to much of an issue with the draw.
This fight was great because they are evenly matched but in the cold light of day neither are super elite IMO. If Ward comes back down he’ll kick these two out of the sport and I think Callum Smith beats both of them.
What said it all to me is DeGale looked satisfied with the draw. Jack didn't. But neither really deserved to be a loser tonight.
On a side note, the ref (Arthur Mercante Jnr) took a flush right hook to the eye from Jack like a fucking boss. Big respect.
But what a special special night. Just had the feel of one of them back in the day special nights of boxing for me. Watch out for that Gervonte Davis, big things are gonna happen for him.
Amazing start to 2017.

James could have outboxed Jack but he makes heavy weather of it,! but it was a good fight to watch.
Smith must be licking his lips that fight took a bit out of DeGale.
Jack well I think Smith would just brake him in about 6 rounds.
Smith has not fought at this level so we have to wait and see how good he really is.
Degale did fight the wrong fight in the middle and took far too much punishment.

Just saw Floyd's post fight comments, what a massive wanker (yeah, I know, nothing new). He "promoted" a top fight then ruins it by crying about a robbery and bizarrely moaning about it being "bad for boxing."
If forced to pick a winner I'd go for Jack. His more consistent solidness throughout looked a little superior to DeGale's dazzling cameos. However, it was a good/fair draw and most importantly a good/quality punch-up.
Great beard shown by the ref.

Both Horse face and Jack are light punchers and garbage.

@
Fenster mentioned the draw at 25-1 was a good shout the other day. And yes my gut immediately thought stick £10-20 on that but I didn't bother.
Neither did I ;D
Guaranteed I wont hit another draw for the rest of the year. Cunt.
Re: James DeGale v Badou Jack - Sky Sports
One of the best fight's I've seen live over the past two decades.
Re: James DeGale v Badou Jack - Sky Sports
Excellent fight, Jack is a lot better than I thought he was I figure, didn't score it really but felt he should have won, was more composed and landed cleaner basically throughout, his knockdown was obviously a lot more significant etc, and I do rate DeGale for sure, he's a tricky guy to fight.
I don't think Gervonta Davis is the next whatever as some seem to, he could prove me wrong but I just don't like how he takes breaks, could see him being totally befuddled against a fluid out fighter. Pedroza(who I don't think is much of anything) actually stole a round or two just being busy due to it, I honestly expected it would be a lot more one sided.

I thought Floyd remained calm and spoke sense. It's true that Jack gets the wrong end of decisions and in this fight he messed up Degales face, outlanded him by 60 punches, landed the more telling shots and scored the classier KD. He won the fight and pretty handily too IMO. It is bad for boxing when a guy throws 10 punches with 9 of them landing on the arms, then gets hit back with 1 clean to the body and 1 clean to the head. Those kinds of exchanges were not difficult to judge. Degale was outlanded in most of the rounds and got his with the harder shots. It is pretty bad for boxing when a fighter clearly wins and struggles to ever get the decision. Also Degale should have been docked a point for constantly spitting out the mouth guard. That became very blatant.
Re: James DeGale v Badou Jack - Sky Sports
Surprised nobody has commented that it was 23 seconds from Degale hitting the deck until the ref left them fight on. That's bad, real bad.
Re: James DeGale v Badou Jack - Sky Sports
Had to have another look at Mercante being caught clean with Jack left hook.
he asks for water and stands in Jacks corner drinking and mumbles..."yeh now you need to knock HIM out mutherfucker" ;D:-X

its hard to disagree, degale looked smashed up and jack looked so much bigger and stronger through out
and if anyone deserved it Jack did
but degale did win those 6 rounds
I have only watched it once and all that, late at night/early in the morning, so im willing to rewatch any of those rounds that someone is arguing he didn't win
from memory the rounds he won were 1, 2, 4, 9, 10, 11
Re: James DeGale v Badou Jack - Sky Sports
I have only watched the fight once, I gave it to Jack by one round, a draw is a perfectly fair result in a close fight.
I've just been having a look at another forum and they are all screaming and crying saying it is a massive robbery, I really don't understand that, if DeGale had won a unanimous decision with a massive difference in points then fair enough.
People these days just can't take losing, every time there is a decision that goes against them, look at the Kov v Ward uproar, it was a close fight, this was a close fight, you don't always get the decision you want, that doesn't make it a robbery.
I just enjoyed the fight and accepted the draw even though I would have preferred to see a win for DeGale

If I had just "promoted" a cracking card I would have been bigging it up not tainting my product by doom and glooming about corruption and wrongdoing. The opinion expressed by the vast MAJORITY was a terrific, close fight. The correct opinion.
DeGale had two front teeth knocked out that's why the gum shield fell out a couple of times. Bit harsh (wrong) to say he was "constantly spitting it out," even the few times it came out he didn't stop fighting using it as an out.
Re: James DeGale v Badou Jack - Sky Sports
It's funny, on the face of it, everything points to Jack being hard done by. Threw and landed more punches, fucked DeGale's face up, had the better knockdown, etc. But I have to say, I scored DeGale winning by 2 rounds. To be honest, I was really surprised I had it like that , because if anything I was trying to give Jack Rounds (I'm not a big fan of DeGale's.) so it was far from biased.
