Typically nowadays, there's a lot of conjecture here. I think we need to see who the opponent ends up being and then we'll have a better idea of what's gonna happen. I do think Haye thought it would be easier to get the fights he wants, not realising fighters , promoters , even TV stations are gonna say "fuck you, why should we help." and indeed why should they do him any favours?
The one thing I would say, is I think it's a bit shitty starting to sell tickets and chatting shit without being anywhere near naming an opponent.
I think he's gonna piss on his chips if he ain't careful. People will only get mugged off for a certain amount of time, then they'll wake up and smell the coffee.

however Haye is ranked and a name so, as well as more chance of a step up the ladder, he would get the Haye exposure too
and he would more than likely earn more fighting Haye than Hughie also
Other than Haye is scared of Fedesov like you suggest, perhaps there was a different reason to why Haye chose not to have Fedesov as a backup in case his 21st may fight falls through?
Haye can sell tickets without an opponent because his punters aren't specifically boxing fans they're Haye fans. As he proved last time, it doesn't matter who he fights, he draws a massive gate and TV audience. The least of his problems is not being wanted, he equals big dough for everyone involved.

If you're a professional boxer and you sign a contract for a promoter you get paid a fee for particular fight. You don't even own the rigghts to the TV footage of the fight, the promoter does. You may have noticed guys like Warren and Hearn live on great big country estates and make millions of pounds. Fighters, not so much. It's every fighter's dream to be able to promote their own shows and keep all of the money, even more so to be able to sell out the biggest arena in the country without even naming an opponent or an undercard.Quote:

Dave got it at a bargain basement price before Haye had to resort to trying to sell advertising onyoutube! If he had any big nterest for advertising on youtube he would have gone downthat route but he didnt. He did try for weeks to publicise it and got no offers.
If the promoter pays the fighter, thefigter can still negotiate a cut of any revenue. Haye doesnt have that draw anymore or yet and hewont until he proves himself again and wins back some confidence in his brand. Does he get that far before any banana skins? As untested as this proposed German novice is he could well be that. Even if he wins but looks poor he loses appeal.
