Froch KOs Magee!
Super middleweight Carl Froch, rated WBO #5/WBC #7/IBF #9/WBA #15, scored a thrilled eleventh round knockout over Brain Magee Friday night at the legendary York Hall in London. The bout ended with Froch (19-0, 15 KOs) laid out Magee with a crushing uppercut to retain his British and Commonwealth belts. Froch dropped Magee in round one, but Magee (25-3, 18 KOs) fought back hard and made it an exciting fight until the decisive eleventh.

Froch leaves his chin out to dry, if Mcgee was a bigger puncher i feel Froch would of been the one getting knocked out, i honestly think Lacy and his team should be looking at the unbeaten Froch for his comeback fight, i think it would end brutaly with Lacy looking good with a 5th round brutal Knockout. Anyone agree that this would be a great comeback confidence booster for Lacy??
I don't know.....Thing is Lacy looked VERY beatable that night and he looked like anyone with the least minimum boxing skills could beat him....
Brian Magee stopped Jeff Lacy in the amateurs. Not that one could transfer this directly to the pro ranks but it still gives a hint. Carl Froch wonbronze medal at the World Amateur Championship.
If Lacy wants more Ws on his record he has to go back to his old tactic which created the hype - fighting old men and over-the-hill boxers.
I expected to see a better fight from froch. It was magee who beat him up throughout the fight, He was ahead on the judges score cards. Froch depends on his uppercuts and his counters, magee went there to fight and the referee didnt give him anything. If froch would have came over to Belfast he would have got beaten to a pulp, if not by magee, then by the crowd.

Yeh, but the second 'knockdown' wasnt one, and magee clearly had the better success rate. Everything was going in Frochs favour, if only Brian had a better chin!
Too me it just proves that like him or loath him (froch) when it matters and he's gotta pull something special outta the bag can do so with devastating effect.
He knew he could drop Magee from the first K.O. ;)
He was even chatting away to people ringside and the sky commentators during thew fight,Smiling away and winking at people.
He really has a good chin and his power is top notch.
His right hand soon shot up to his chin after Magee clumped him flush ;D
Should get his European title shot against Mger Mkrtchian (F(*ck interviewing him with a name like that :o)
At the end of the year so all in all he's still undefeated and is still hugely entertaining to watch.
Yeah he trash talks but we love all that really as it creates interest and sells tickets which is why the York Hall was more packed than i've ever seen last night and Froch is not even from London 8
