Boxer Khan in court on dangerous driving charge

Boxer Amir Khan has been arrested and charged with dangerous driving.

Police in England said Khan, 19, was arrested on Saturday at a police station in his home town of Bolton.

His arrest followed an incident on Bradshawgate in the town when a man had his leg broken by a car.

A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: “On Thursday March 2 2006, police were called to Bradshawgate in Bolton at about 4.45pm following reports that a car was in collision with a pedestrian.

“The pedestrian was taken to the Royal Bolton Hospital suffering from a broken leg.

Khan appeared at Bolton Magistrates’ Court on Monday and was released on bail to reappear at a later date.

Khan, who won a silver medal at the 2004 Olympics, is due to fight Scot Colin Bain on July 8 at the Millennium Stadium, in Cardiff.

It was a fucking accident and he didnt do a runner when it happened, no he doesnt deserved to be locked up.

He doesn't deserve to be locked up... he shouldn't be tearing up the streets in his flash motor trying to be impressive... you don't hit pedestrians unless they dive infront of you or you are at fault...

As much as I used to like Khan (can't say I've liked him recently... not that I dislike him...) I have to go with the latter...

Kahn is a good lad, nothing like Hamed.

I hate pedestrians and (probably) would hate one from Bolton. We can't drive on the pavement so why do they get to cross the road?

I would love to run one over and break the fucker's legs.

This is why I get annoyed at things like 'Baby on Board' signs. SO FUCKING WHAT if there is a kid in the car in front of me. Am I likely to see a car without a stupid sign and thing "Oh, there's no baby on board, I think I'll ram that car at 60mph".

Why should people who choose to have children be treated as if they somehow have more rights than everyone else. I for one am deeply uninterested in anyone else's children and could not really care what happens to them. Why should I?

Thank you X for saying what I wanted to but was too illiterate to come up with.

Another thing I'm trying to figure out, does Khan get all this hype because he's a Muslim? I've seen him fight and he's got talent, but not so much talent that receiving this kind of publicity makes sense. It seems to me since Ali, everyone was looking for the next great Muslim hope, and first it was that ugly troll Naseem, now Amir Khan (he actually has a troll-ish look to him). As far as the accident goes I don't have much of an opinion, I wasn't there so I can't say. But someone please tell me why the kid is getting media exposure like he's the next Roy Jones?

Who am I kidding, he can beat Roy Jones at 4 rounders!
