Allan Green = The Next Jeff Lacy
The scores aren't back yet for the Allan Green fight but I think he barely won. He knocked Linton down, but it fucking obvious that the guy can't even go 12 rounds. He gassed out in the seventh after trying to KO Linton. OK, he won UD. The guy repeat can not fight JoeCal now. I don't know what it is with these young fighters like Taylor and Green but they all have stamina problems. You'd think that they have the edge in stamina. IF Green fought JoeCal, he'd be beaten to a bloody pulp. Green shouldn't get on his own hype train this fast, he should really take some twelve round fights and get used to fight that long.

I agree, Green should have finished Linton off in the seventh. Someone that much younger and bigger should have dominated down the stretch. Green better go back to the drawing board.

It was a good interesting fight. Not as good as I wanted it to be but what can I do or say now? Nothing. Seeing Green run out of gas in like the 7th., I was shocked. He said he was ready to go the distance. I wish Linton would of worked the body and thru some uppercuts which I think would of won him the fight in the later rounds. I guess he thought Green was a lot chinnier judging on his knock down by McCrary. Linton should of done what McCrary did and that was jump in. Oh well. I wont argue the judging. Home town decisions are common place in the sport of boxing.
Green wants to go down to 160? Nice tune up fight for my homie Mora. ESPN. Make it happen.

Fighters can get out of gas when they try to finish a guy off and the ref doesn't stop it. If the ref had given Mayorga had held after Oscar's flurry he would have been tired too(Oscar)
Anyway Green won tonight and he won't look good everytime, I don't think he's the next Jeff Lacy, because Lacy never had an experience like that until AFTER he won a world title, Green has yet to, I think he will be better prepared for the world stage thanks to fights like this

Taylor is on a completely different level than either Lacy or Green... he would give loads Calzaghe loads of trouble if he threw the jab more than he did against Winky.

??? Pointless thread, whats wrong with jeff lacy anyway? He didn't change just because he lost to Calzaghe, its just that Joe had the style, determination and most importantly prepared better than Jeff. On another night Jeff could have landed the punch to wobble Calzaghe. Just coz he lost, it doesn't mean he ain't the guy that destroyed Reid, Sheika, Pemberton etc. and it doesn't mean he isn't better OR worse than Allan Green. And just cos Allan Green had one rough night it doesn't mean he's the next Jeff Lacy.... I hate fickle fans who will write off a fighter because they have a rougher night than usual. I think Jeff Lacy is far far better than Green and would KTFO Green. I believe once JC leaves the division/retires,Lacy will be a big player as long as he is mentally correct.

Believe me I'd be online way more but I work nights 5 days a week, and the first fight I saw of valero was May 05' against velanuzela or sum shat like that after hearing his 1st round KO ratio was 12 out of 12, I needed to see more of the fights so i kept my my eye on the hungarian forum and various other forums, tc-boxing, and world boxing archive, plus I saw the Morales sparring, the second i saw that I knew he was the truth. After hearing all the toruble he had with his brain scans its hard to believe he fights so fearlessly, maybe they were inconsequential.
And although we disagree on a lot of things, we also see eye to eye on most, your definatly one of my fave posters along with wacko, and we actually keep some of 'the truth' on this forum between us, Mayweather may be a great talent, but he sure as hell ain't unbeatable! Ask Tony or Rick!
