WINKY WANTS PARITY, OR ELSE THERE WILL BE NO REMATCH WITH TAYLOR
heres the link

imo since he took 45% last time and fought to a draw, he should be entitled to 50% this time.
for some reason, i dont see this as a huge setback in the taylor camp, since he seems more concerned about making his mark in the world of boxing than $$$.
Re: WINKY WANTS PARITY, OR ELSE THERE WILL BE NO REMATCH WITH TAYLOR
I dont know part of me agrees with Winky that it should be equal, but he's going to get millions more fighting jermain with 45% than any other fight he can get. Honestly, Wright needs this fight more than taylor from a money point of view. Taylor is the champ and has the belts and I think it's reasonable for wright to just take 45%...i mean 45% to 50% big deal.
Winky is being stubborn and this best not stop this fight from happening!
Re: WINKY WANTS PARITY, OR ELSE THERE WILL BE NO REMATCH WITH TAYLOR
ALthough I believe Winky deserves 50% and is the better boxer... Others have brought up the point that Winky is not the exciting type fight that brings in the casual PPV fans and does not have any belts. I do believe that both fighters need this fight for closure and both can get more money together than from fighting anyone else and hope something could be hammered out. C/

i see where youre coming from with that, however winky got 45% last time and fought to a draw with the champ (and perhaps elevated his status even higher than before) so i cant imagine how wright wouldnt be entitled to 50% this time.
but assuming this mega fight doesnt come off, it sounds like its gonna be quartey.
that would be an interesting fight featuring a couple guys whose most notable losses/draw were very questionable.
maybe theyll both go for the ko since neither one gets a close decision, or even a clear cut decision as in quarteys case (delahoya, forrest)
Re: WINKY WANTS PARITY, OR ELSE THERE WILL BE NO REMATCH WITH TAYLOR
this is the part of boxing that does get annoying
I don't care either way, I guess I could see people saying that Taylor's the champ so he should get 55.
But it was a draw and it seemed like at least a slight majority of people thought that if anybody won it was Winky. And people talk about Winky being boring, I actually thought he played a bigger part in making that a surprisingly exciting fight last time than Taylor, it was Winky who pressed the fight most of the time. So I don't think he's crazy to expect to get 50 percent, although its a stupid reason for a fight not to happen, 50 or 45, its still good money.

CC. Winky was the one walking forward last fight, not Taylor. And it's not like no one knows Winky, the fightnight series and the Reebok endorsment have actually made him really popular. I was surprised as to how many of my friends actually knew who he was from those two things.

People might know who Wright is, but we they pay to watch him fight?
Re: WINKY WANTS PARITY, OR ELSE THERE WILL BE NO REMATCH WITH TAYLOR
Here is what the current Ring Magizine says about Winky Wrights behavior after the Taylor fight:
"Winky was certain even before he entered the ring that he would get jobbed, so he was quick to believe it hapened. But the scores were legit, and a draw was fair. The accomplished Winky could stop worrying about scores if he took more chances in there. His last stoppage was in february of 2002."

While I agree with the statement, I doubt Wright has the power to knock out Taylor.
