The Greatest of All Time in each individual division
I did this about a year ago, but I thought it would be interesting as it looks at different weights to the usual ones we always talk about
I haven't included every single division just the ones I consider to be the main ones.
See what you think and what your opinions are.
Flyweight - Jimmy Wilde
Bantamweight - Carlos Zarate
Featherweight - Wille Pepp
Superfeather - Alexis Arguello
Lightweight - Roberto Duran
Lightwelter - Aaron Pryor
Welterweight - Sugar Ray Robinson
Middleweight - Marvin Hagler
Light Heavyweight - Roy Jones
Cruiserweight - Evander Holyfiled
Heavyweight - Muhammad Ali
Re: The Greatest of All Time in each individual division
Maybe Bob Foster or Archie Moore for Light Heavy and RJJ for Super Middle?
Re: The Greatest of All Time in each individual division
You list CW but not SMW?
And there's no way Jones Jr is the greatest LHW or even top five.

Billy Conn, Ezzard Charles, Gene Tunney, Tommy Gibbons, Archie Moore...yeah I consider those guys greater but RJJ isn't too terribly far behind

Re: The Greatest of All Time in each individual division
Why are people considering RJJ a SMW and not a LHW - look at his defences and number of fights in each division. I was going to have Archie Moore at LHW, but I thought Jones nicked it on a.) more title fights & b.) I think he would've won a Head 2 Head.
Re: The Greatest of All Time in each individual division
i couldnt think of many good smw so just put him up there big h

Partly out of sentiment as I felt it would be wrong for Archie Moore not to be on the listand that Jones could be accommodated as the #1 Super Middle.

Jones wasn't half the fighter at LHW he was at SMW. He even retired from boxing in '96, but has ended up hanging around for 10 years because HBO let him choose his opponents - it was easy beating taxi drivers and firemen twice a year on boring decisions.

A greatest list has have something to do with achievement. He was only at Super Middle for 2 years and about 5 or 6 World Title fights, He was a Light Heavy for the best part of a decade with close to 20 world Title fights
what division do you think defines RJJ???

Lyle only remebers fighters defeats later in their career, he would of course still had Tommy Gibbons above Jones had jones retired after the Ruiz fight ;)
Re: The Greatest of All Time in each individual division
What the fuck are you on about BigH? I think your blind hatred of me has made you retarded!
RJJ was a great fighter but never had great FIGHTS at 175
Tell me why RJJ would be ahead of the guys I listed
Re: The Greatest of All Time in each individual division
because he would have beaten them? lol just my guess
If you believe Billy Conn would KO or UD Roy Jones, the tooth fairy is probably not a far fetched concept from where you sit
