Tradiciones restaurant at Ranch Market, in downtown Phoenix, was the site of the final press conference to promote the November 4 showdown between WBO heavyweight champion Sergei “The White Wolf” Liakhovich (23-1 14 KO’s) and Shannon “The Cannon” Briggs (47-4-1 41 KO’s). The Don King Promotions event is titled “Red November: White Wolf Hunt” and will be broadcast live from Chase Field on Showtime. The historic bout will be the first heavyweight championship in the state of Arizona and the first championship at Chase Field since the Diamondbacks beat the Yankees in the 2001 World Series.

Re: Briggs: "Sergei will pay for calling me a n*****"
I'd kinda doubt that he called him that at a press conference. Since he "heard it from a friend" I wouldn't be surprised if that friend just told him that to get him angry. But what do I know, he may have actually said it.
Just looking at Briggs and how big and bulked up he is it definitely seems like getting Sergei early would be the best way to go, would doubt he has the stamina to keep it up for 12 rounds.
Re: Briggs: "Sergei will pay for calling me a n*****"
From the looks of it he definitely will. If only briggs did something with that blonde/spider hair style, he'd be a bit more intimidating.
Re: Briggs: "Sergei will pay for calling me a n*****"
I commented b4 about how big Briggs looked wearing a moo moo. At 300 lbs i figured he was fat under the pretty bedsheet! These pics prove me wrong! Ripped in the torso and huge arms. The question is does he have the cardio to feed the oxygen to those big muscles without getting gassed and then KO'd. who do you guys pick and why??

Briggs said he's sparred over 100 rounds and is ready to go the distance if neccessary. And apparently Jeff Mayweather never left his camp.
I hope he can counter Sergei's right to the body. This is a toss up fight, it depends on what Shannon Briggs shows up imo.

Sergai allegedly said the first one
Re: Briggs: "Sergei will pay for calling me a n*****"
Going to the gym and sparring are all well and good but what I'm thinking Shannon did NOT do is.......running. Road work sucks but you HAVE to do it to be able to go the distance.
Briggs looks to be in great shape but I doubt he shows us much after 4 rounds....but those 4 rounds are going to be hell on earth for Sergei
Re: Briggs: "Sergei will pay for calling me a n*****"
I hope Briggs get his gets beat like Lacy did against Joe C.
Re: Briggs: "Sergei will pay for calling me a n*****"
First off I doubt Sergei called him that.....its usually the pre fight bull &*%& that people say to their/about their opponent
Secondly Shannon is too big....remember Danny Williams??  The dude was close to 280 in his last fight(and hes pretty muscular too...claimed he sparred well and all) and he looked sluggish and could do nothing
I predict a lack of stamina and speed..probably a bit better than that of Danny Williams but not enough to keep pace with Sergei(his only shot is a power shot.. ;)  Only way he can win fight is through hopeful knockout)
Lastly does it occur anyone else that Shannon has been juicing(Steroids..and I am not ignorant of the stuff so my claims are not made in ignorance)
I mean he started out in his boxing debut like at right around 210  :o
and at his peak(lets call it his peak) he weighed 230 against Lennox Lewis.  He now weighs 270 pounds.  40 pounds lean body mass between that fight and now and 70 since his pro debut.
Thats a lot for any fighter(HELL any person in general) and especially since it is all semmingly muscle.
Lastly I have read people reviewing his fights where they have mentioned he had backne(acne on back)...which is a uncommon sight for 34 yr olds who ARE NOT on juice....but is a common sight for juicers

Yeah he was 230 7 years ago, as if he'd stay that low his entire career especially how he had been known to not train and came into fights Heavy. this wasn't something that happened after 2 fights.
Re: Briggs: "Sergei will pay for calling me a n*****"
He looks too bulky....almost reminds me of Vargas when he fought Oscar. Boxers are supposed to be lean and have the ability to go the distance, that's the main goal. Look at Wladimir Klitschko he's 6'7 and he weighs consistently around 240-243 and people still rag on his stamina.....he'd look like Arnold if he weighed in at 280 but his stamina would be even worse than people complain about.
It's quite obvious Shannon is looking for an early KO and all Sergei has to do is weather the storm
Re: Briggs: "Sergei will pay for calling me a n*****"
It's the bulked up shoulders that will do in Shannon Briggs tonight.
Re: Briggs: "Sergei will pay for calling me a n*****"
I'm rooting for Briggs in this fight his track record tells us he will lay a big goose egg tonite.... But No matter the outcome or the logistics I'm just gonna pick him from a fan standpoint.....Lyk is by far the most rugged of all the current champs so Shannon is in for a real war of attrition....Underachiever..YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!! he is... Hopefully he will make the most out of his 2nd career..Bums and journeyman are one thing but Shannon has a chance to shine on the Heavyweight stage 2nite and hopefully he'll make the most out of it.... ;)
Re: Briggs: "Sergei will pay for calling me a n*****"
Of course JT, I think everyone is just hoping for a great fight....this matchup can only help the division.
Of course after these mandatory matches we need some unification fights!!!
