Cotto AND Urango

Notice I didnt say "Cotto Vs Urango"...I aint that stupid ;D

Ive seen Cotto fight, but I havent had the chance to see him as much as some of you lads have.

My point/question is this. RH was obviously hurt to the body vs urango, he outboxed him sure, but to be fair, boxing Uranago aint all that hard.

If Cotto had been stood where urango was (at 147 cos thats the only way this happens) is there ANY way RH can beat him. I just cant see it. Unfortunatley I think RH gets STOPPED late on. If you dont agree how do you think Hatton can beat him. Just appreciate Cotto is no longer weight drained so forget the stamina/hatton gets him late argument.

no doubt cotto will beat hatton.

we have plenty of undefeated fighters nowadays, but i am most impress by cotto at the moment.

i think cotto might would have done some damage not sure if he would have won.

Hatton at his peak physical condition would definately give Cotto a run for his money. A fight between them without any physical or mental hindrances could honestly i think go either way, either by TKO or split decision.

At 147, Cotto owns Hatton.
At 140, Hatton owns Cotto.

Thats why I've been saying they should fight at a catch weight. No advanatge for either one. :)

I I greee in ceartain degree og his comments Hatton has an incredible chin he has showed that during the years and also his last fight for my point of view the only way that Cotto can TKO RH has to be to the body but RH as well has great condition(stamina like a dog) this would be a very exiting night ala Castillo Corrales 1 maybe and of course I wil be roting for my boy Cotto.

Here's the thing...I don't really respect or rate Urango.

I hate to say that...because I did respect him for working through Hatton...but when you start talking all matters concerning Urango & or Cotto in comparison...Cotto would eat him alive.

Urango can crack...no doubt...but nothing in comparison to Cotto.

Cotto would take him out at the 6th or 7th round, IWO.

Styles make fights, and Hatton doesn't have the style to beat Cotto.

Cotto will be beaten when he faces a slick boxer with great hand and foot speed. Someone who can run circles around him, potshot him, and stay out of range of his body attack. Obviously Mayweather is the prototype for this type of fighter.

Hatton can box, but he's more of a smothering, high-activity, high-contact type fighter. Hatton can't score without putting himself in a position where he'll be vulnerable to Cotto's body attack.
I think Cotto KO's Hatton.

Cotto will not like the pace that Hatton fights at so i think he will cause cotto problems, but at 147 Cotto is to strong for Hatton but at 140 Hatton would win on points.

I'd like to see Cotto in with someone of Hattons calibre before making judgement. Cotto is doing a good job of knocking over his competition to date though, no argueing with that, couple of shakes along the way but it happens to the best of them.

i reckon a hatton on top of his game beats a cotto on top of his game. at welter weight cotto has the advantage straight away because he is much more comfortable at the weight. hatton has the pace to really trouble cotto and cotto much prefers to fight at a thinking pace. torres troubled cotto because he was outworking him and really taking the fight, but he couldnt keep it up for the whole fight and so cotto stoped him late. a hatton on his A game would out work him and hae cotto blowing out of his arse. but at welter hatton would really have to dig deep and take some vicious body shots.

I agree with this in theory, but there's no way that Cotto would agree to go below 147, because he doesn't have to. There are more big name fighters at 147 than there are at 140, and therefore Cotto has more options fighting at his natural weight of 147 than Hatton has fighting at his natural weight of 140.
If Hatton wants a big, big fight, he's going to need to come up to 147. If Hatton wants a huge payday, it's going to be either Cotto or Mayweather, and I assume Hatton would rather just fight Cotto, because at least against Cotto he'd have a chance. Against Mayweather, it would just be target practice for Floyd.

nah sweat pea hatton has got his huge fight, name and payday in his fight with castillo at 140. but you are right that there are more big fights at 147 and if a fight with cotto was to happen hatton would have to step up to welter again, so straight away cotto has an advantage. and on your hatton mayweather target practice theory its bullshit aswell. floyd would be the fight of hatton's life and so ricky would be all over mayweather like a rash. more up for it than in the tszyu fight. i think hatton would walk through mayweather's shots. but thats another topic
