Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds: Mosley vs Collazo.
Alrighty fellars...the weekend is finally here.
It's time for another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds...unfortunately...I've got so much going on...all I can say is that this weekend we get to see if the "Sugar" is still sweet as Shane Mosley fights for bragging rights at 147 & the WBC's Welterweight Interim Title.
I wish I had time to hash this one out for you bwoyz & girls...but I don't...lots of family matters going on...so I'll leave the theorizing up to you this go around.
I shall return Saturday night just before the clock strikes 9:45 to give you all the rundown.
My pick? Mosley...but I'd love to see Collazo pull it outta the bag.
Cheers & koneecheewah bitches.

CC,for all the effort and I hope everything is cool with the fam. I'm actually going with Collazo here, the southpaw stance will give Shane problems,Luis has fast fast hands and can bang too. His lack of power could be a big factor though, especially if Shane realises he can walk through Collazo's output. However,Luis will be smart,he'll be elusive and pick his spots,I think tight points win for Collazo. I would not be surprised if Shane won though.

Have replied in a couple other threads about the matchup... But basically I feel, just like you say may be the case.. That Shane will be able to walk through alot of Collazos shots and outmuscle him. In turn, I think people expect to much of Collazo or rate him too highly based on the Hatton fight. Lets not forget noones denying Hatton wasn't effective at welterweight, yet he was still having no problem landing shots and even combinations on Collazo. Mosley is much faster and stronger than Ricky at welter, he can also take a great punch I see no way Collazo will hurt him. Luis has also said that he hasn't sparred with one natural welterweight in this fight, and he's not preparing for power. Big mistake considering Mosley is coming down from 154 where he has shown good power. I just don't feel Collazo is capable of performing much better then he did against Hatton, and even that wouldn't be enough because Mosley is a bigger, better welterweight. Collazo is a good counter puncher but he will fight to the pace set by the other man on the inside and I think Mosley will just be alot stronger than he can take. Do expect it to be competitive, but only for a time as Collazo will have to trade with him to win rounds and I just see him taking considerably more punishment.

I have an itch on my funny bone that tells me that El Gamo is right and Collazo takes this one. Really close but i think he pulls it off.
Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds: Mosley vs Collazo.
Is Mosley even gonna be Shane anymore ???
He went up to 154 and then came down to 147 and then back up to 154 for 2 more fights and now back to 147 ??? What toll has this taken on his body ???

Im going for collazo by UD; i thinks its his time now, at 25 its time to shine, shanes getting on at 35, i think collazo's super fast hand speed, very cadgy style makes him hard to hit, hes gunnna cause shane all sorts of problems i expect collazo to come in to this in tip top shape, ready for big out put in every round, i think he will be the one going strong in the championship rounds, and those will be the rounds he seals it in IMO.

Nice analysis. However,Collazo also showed he can bang in his fight with Rivera in which he was getting his ass handed to him early on but came back strong towards the end of the fight(a MUST SEE FIGHT PEEPS) and Rivera ia a big, strong man.
Where did you hear about Luis sparring? I ask because I'm sure I read he sparred with alot of bigger guys.
I don't think Collazo has to trade to win,I think one of his strengths is that he is very very versatile. I can see him being elusive, picking his spots, landing flashy combinations to impress the judges and nicking the rounds. I am actually really excited about this fight,it looks like a good styles match up.

Ice Cold posted this article a couple days ago I think.. Read what he says. Kind of strange imo since Mosley's going to be the hardest puncher he's ever fought. Ive seen his fight with Rivera too, and to be honest going by that fight he would have almost no chance against Mosley. It was a great fight but Rivera is not the fighter Mosley is, assuming he hasn't grown ancient since he fought Vargas. Collazo will have to have really improved to beat Mosley I think. He did improve since the Rivera fight, but how much better can he get?
Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds: Mosley vs Collazo.
A soldier's effort on this one Wacko, really appreciated, all our thoughts are with you my man.
My head is overuling my heart on this fight, so I say Mosley UD. The match up is a great one and Collazo definatly has a big chance, but I've been watching a lot of Shne recently and if he's 90% the fighter he was in his prime at 147 he could be #1 in the division no doubt.
