just watched tito vs wright amazing performance by wright tito didnt land one clean punch so i was wondering how hell do you get through that excellent defence do you go to the body ?? but isnt that leaving yourself open for wrights quick counter thoughts please on what type of fighter + what kind of strategy to get through that amazing defence
I'd say jab,hook,straight hand to the midsection.If you time it right it just may work.He holds his hands in a "peek a boo" type way, so he is gonna block the jab and the hook but won't be able to react fast enough for the straight mid-section punch.If you land it...I'd say switch it up to maybe jab,hook,hook,etc...just my opinion.
That fight flattered Winky cuz Tito was so rusty but yeah he looked so comfortable in that fight the way his hands covered his face and you could count on 1 hand how many times he got hit in the entire fight .Quote:

The best fight to look at is the Taylor fight...but that performance is more aiken to the Simon fight & the Vasquez fight because Wright fought trying to show out & gain some fans.
Wright needs to stick to his defensive posture. His gloves up & his elbows locked at his waist...it's damned near impossible to get through unless he fights a different fight.

The simon fight was wierd.Simon fights in a akward way and throws punches from odd angles...but i thought winky adapted well and won just about all of the rounds.The Vasquez fight...I thought without all of the "slips" could have maybe been a split decision for Vasquez(But a close one).A lot of fighters can land punches on Winky ie:Taylor,Ike,etc....but for every punch landed he normally counters with 2-3 that are right on target.The flurries really dont score b/c they are landing dead on the gloves.
Dont try and break it down touch it.

Id say #2 is the most difficult as he's in your face all the time anyway. If you could draw his lead that would work, provided you had a tight defence yourself.Quote:

I don't know, conventially, and uppercut between the forearms up the middle is the best way to split a guard, but Winky's is so tight and fighters hate to do that because he is such a sharp counter puncher.
Well Winky stands up so straight I doubt you could land an uppercut on him.
I think it's all angles...you have to move to one side and hope you can throw a hook inbetween the guard and land a cross behind it as he tightens up to block the hook.
Going to the body is hard because his elbows are down there, but it's where you would figure to draw attention away from his guard up top.
Soliman got through a number of times and nearly stole the show!
I know Soliman is unorthodox but maybe that's what you have to be to break down Winky's defence.
