Taylor vs Mora is off. Spinks instead!??!

Boxingtalk has been informed that Contender Champion Sergio Mora has refused to fight Jermain Taylor in Memphis, TN, therefore Taylor is searching for a new opponent. Word is, IBF Jr. Middleweight champion Cory Spinks is in the mix to land the fight. Needelss to say, Bob Arum, who promotes Kelly Pavlik, the WBC #1 contender, was infuriated by the news as he told Boxingtalk, "Pavlik is the #1 contender and we're ready to make the fight right now! Jermain needs to be a real middleweight champion and fight real middleweights." More to follow! (10:00PM ET

looks like he going back to his old habits. at one point it seem like everybody he fought had just moved up to 160.

Well Spinks got guts I can say that much.

But why does Pavlik deserve Taylor?

How about this, how about Miranda and Pavlik fight on the undercard to fight the winner of the Jermain Taylor vs (whoever) for their next fight.

Pavlik doesnt deserve Taylor, but Miranda does. But Id be more than happy to give him one more 'easy' fight and than take on the winner of Miranda vs Pavlik. I just dont think he will ever fight Miranda...

Jermain got the tools to trouble Miranda, especially in that good jab.

I'm not saying he cant or wouldnt beat Miranda. I just think he will be protected from being put in the ring with a big puncher that has a decent shot of hurting him...

I would agree, But probably because win lose or draw it would shorten his career and they wanna make a little more money with him.

Taylor has good skills and decent power (when he's not trying so damned hard with the right cross!).

I would like to see Taylor vs the following, in this order:

Arthur Abraham
Edison Miranda
Kelly Pavlik
Winky Wright (only this low because it won't happen until after the B-Hop fight)
Jeff Lacy ( would love to see the fight even if it means nothing)

And a far off shot to Amin Asikainen

I hope its Miranda. Try and back off against him and get tired near the end = KTFO.

Why would Mora pull out of this? If his excuse is that he doesn't want to fight on JT's home turf (Little Rock or Memphis), then shame on Mora, because he's an idiot.
Does he think he's going to get another chance like this? He's a second-rate fighter who got some publicity because of a TV show and was therefore lucky enough to get a title shot and the biggest paycheck of his life.

....Mora is a peice of shit, I'd rather him fight someone who could really put a hurting on him, like MIRANDA.

Mora wasn't ready for Jermain Taylor, probably a few more fights but Mora could probably beat some other people at 16 0 before he fights Taylor, I think he should get a BAD fight before going to WCB

I think JT beats Arthur with ease, JT would be too fast and wouldn't allow Arthur to get off his shots.
I think JT has some trouble with Miranda as he wouldn't be able to push him around but his jab would be the key to a victory.
I think JT blows right past Pavlik with flying colors.
I think Winky does it again BUT this time more convingcingly ;)
I think JTs tooo skilled for Lacy and would just frustrate him all the way through

Thats my bwoy! Amin been following him for a minute now and have seen a few of his fights....
Well it's a little far RIGHT NOW! but not too far IMO, I've seen him box well and I've seen him go toe to toe and he can do both well......

I couldn't agree more. I have not been impressed with Pavlik at all. He has gaping holes in his game, and I think Taylor would destroy him.
