I'll tell you 1 thing about Mayweather,the guy has a personality. I actually like listening to some of the things he says because he's crazy! I've never seen such a contradictory character in my life.

Actually Ali and Tyson aren't the top grossers in viewing audience they are the most popular. the boxer who garnered the most audience in any era is Jack Dempsey. but dempsey, ali and tyson were also heavyweights which is basically the only division that everyone knows. An average person doesn't even know what a welterweight is. When fighters fight at lower weights just by their weight division they reduce their audience and purses in comparison to heavyweights. So for Oscar to have such a huge audience and purses is truly astonishing, he is by far the biggest grosser in terms or stardom and purses beneath the heavyweight division.

Have to take everything he says with a grain of salt. All he cares about is just being anatagonizing and hyping up his next fight. But WTF, what would someone who believes him say to a wrestler, Judoka, Jiu Jitsu practitionor who was looking for an outlet. What would he say to the entire nation of Brazil; they only practise Brazilian Jiu Jitsu cause they failed to make it in Boxing? Or for that matter any and every other combat sport.

At least they all have the balls to fight eachother in MMA , unlike PBF and the other money obsessed or scared boxers.

I love boxing much more, but i just admire the "ill fight frequently and anyone" attitude of most mma fighters

Actually between Purses and endorsements....Oscar De La Hoya has made more money off of the sport of boxing then any other fighter in the history of the business....And that is not including what he is making off GBP

I'm not a MMA super fan but at time I enjoy watching them. But if PBF go MMA and by bad luck he ends up in the floor I will see him screaming like a bitch trying to tap the canvas

Well he is right about Chuck, I'm a fan of both Liddel and PBF. Chuck would get outboxed and stop by a legit Heavy. But also you can say that you take a legit heavy and put him in the ring with Chuck under MMA rules, Chuck would knock that person out.

Yeah of course. It's like putting a badminton player on a tennis court and then the tennis player claiming supremacy.

I'd have to disagree with that. It may be true in certain circles, but that's because MMA has just about its entire fanbase in certain circles. Go into a black neighborhood and no one will know Chuck Liddell. Even if they don't know what he looks like, even most women know Floyd Mayweather Jr. is a boxer.

That's a good point, well said.

At least Floyd is sticking up for Boxing even though he seams to be a cancer in this sport in the opinion of many fans including myself. But one can not blame him for the things he does or says. He has been succesful dispite all the controversy. He continues to win while moving up and there is a strong chance he will win again. Is there any doubt that he would not be a good decent MMA'ist? Whole different cup of tea but there are those fighters who have been unable to make it in the sport of boxing who did go to MMA and have done rather well. So go figure. Of course he would have to learn all those tricks.

Screw MMA but I do like watching The Nightmare Diego Sanchez beat up his opponents.

I will say this about Floyd. If he was in the mixed martial arts would he be so afraid to engage his opponents like he is in boxing? He can run but there is no where to hide in those cages.

Since he is done being the king of the ring why dont he go try his luck in the MMA and see how he does ;D
