Bonds nears all-time homerun mark.
Personally, I cringe each day that goes by and Bonds gets closer and closer. Hank Aaron was a class act, but Bonds is anything BUT. And as for his denial of using steroids, he must think fans are idiots or something. You don't get that huge without being on some serious juice. So no, I hope he doesn't get there. Although sadly, he probably will.
Re: Bonds nears all-time homerun mark.
If valuev beat marcianos mark i would be upset but i dont feel the same about the all time homerun record. I don't care what kind of steroids you're on, its not that easy to hit a small white dot that travels at your fache sometimes exceeding 100mph. Steroids help no doubt but it still takes the ability to stay healthy, coordination and a bunch of other facotrs.
Re: Bonds nears all-time homerun mark.
Well yeah, but Hank did that same thing without help. It's all a bit sad, Barry gets absolutely no love outside of the Bay, especially in the big markets. What he's doing is simply unbelievable. It is an undescribable feeling watching Barry hitting one out of the park live. Last there for 724. It was awesome.
I am torn though. What he's doing is a bit under appreciated, but Hank deserves that record. So on one part, I'll be sad to see it fall for Hank, though it should do nothing to effect his legacy.
But, as a fan of the Giants and baseball in general, I really want to see history be made. To be honest, if Hank wasn't so silent on the matter I would feel better one way or the other.
Re: Bonds nears all-time homerun mark.
does he still rock the 80's george michael cross ear ring? LOL
Re: Bonds nears all-time homerun mark.

Re: Bonds nears all-time homerun mark.
let bonds get the mark as high as he wants it because a-rod is projected to end his career with over a thousand and he is way too small to have ever juiced.
Re: Bonds nears all-time homerun mark.
Who the hell is Bonds ....... never heard of him (or her)?
???
Re: Bonds nears all-time homerun mark.
does england even have a national baseball team for the world classic and stuff like that?
Re: Bonds nears all-time homerun mark.
im pretty sure they didnt
but that world classic is a joke
what it SHOULD be is pro teams from all around the world in a tournament, even if its just the teams that won thier league championships, and japan would STILL win, japans world champs would KTFO MLB world series champs ANY year
Re: Bonds nears all-time homerun mark.
thats because they are baseball fanatics over in japan. A lot of people stay up til 3am in the morning to watch dice-k pitch.

Not that I know of, and I follow most sports here.
That'll probably explain why I didn't know who Bonds was as we don't get any coverage of baseball anywhere (and nobody knows the rules anyway - isn't it just rounders ;))
Re: Bonds nears all-time homerun mark.
5 have baseball on at times. Ridiculous times to be honest. One day I fell asleep on the sofa and woke up at about 3 or 4 a.m and baseball was on so I made an effort to watch a bit. If I had to give it a UK counterpart that was on a par for excitement I would have to say carpet bowls. By rights I should have been quite fresh after a few hours kip but that shit put me back in the land of nod double quick.
Its nothing like the film Major League ;D I was nost dissapointed.

none of this is proven...and we know for a fact sluggers back in the day were popping uppers by the handful and steroids were around in the 60's and 70's.....with no way of testing and legal....
