De L Hoya and Mayweather both need the win to be considerd ALL TIME GREATS!!!
IMO this fight is for a lot more than the WBC paper belt that is officially on the line.
Both fighters need the win to be guarantied to be considered all time greats.
They both have beaten some of the best fighters around from the last 10 years or so but there is still a lot of doubt of how good they are.You only have to read some of the threads on here to know that.
They have both beat lots of very very good boxers but what great fighter in his prime have ether of them beat???
Who ever wins will almost defiantly be regarded as the best fighter of there era and an all time great.
GREATNESS IS UP FOR GRABS ON THE 5TH!!!

I see your vision, you would be a great promoter, you are hyping it but I disagree. Both have had wonderful careers, won belts in different weight classes, won big fights, and have had long gevity. As much as I hate Oscar he is an all time great and so is Mayweather, this fight will only enhance the winners legacy.

ODH is already an all time great, PBF needs someone to spark off to cement his name.

Yeah...I agree...Oscar's already a great...but I think everyone's just a bit harsh on Floyd.
Floyd's a great too...& he stamps greatness on his resume if he outboxes the bigger, stronger man in Oscar this weekend.

Some people think ODLH is an all time great, some people dont.
He lost key fights in his carrer.
If he wins this fight he cant be denied greatness.

I dont go in for excessive generalisations.
This is an interesting matchup and hopefully it will be a good fight. I think Floyd outsmarts Oscar.
If Floyd wins and retires then he is not an all time great IMO. Oscar, as interesting as his career has been and as popular as he is, is not an all time great either.
If Floyd continues and succeeds then he is potentially an all time great...
Perhaps I do generalise :)
