Gatti: "Next fight not my last, I'm after another World Title!"
http://www.itv-boxing.com/News/Story...143817,00.html
Gatti says he's not done yetRing warrior Arturo Gatti has played down talk that his next bout on July 14 will be his last.
Gatti appeared to be heading for retirement when he was beaten by Carlos Baldomir last July.
That painful defeat followed the hammering he took at the hands of 'Pretty Boy' Floyd Mayweather.
But the 35-year-old returns against former 'Contender' star Alfonso Gomez in Atlantic City in July, and says the fight probably won't be his ring swansong.
Despite the fact Gatti has been in enough wars to KO a queue of fighters, he says he's aiming for another world title.
He told the New York Post: "Every fight I'm fighting could be my last. But I want to show myself I have the ability to stick around and fight for a world title.
"I've been in wars. But I'm not one of those fighters that gets damaged like other fighters."
Gatti will have former foe Micky Ward in his corner for the Gomez fight as his new trainer. The pair's sensational trilogy of bruising wars have already gone down in boxing folklore.
Do you guys think he has what it takes still?

Gomez has a real shot, tho gatti is a better boxer... They both can punch
Re: Gatti: "Next fight not my last, I'm after another World Title!"
In the lastest picture of him on www.fightnews.com he looked like a reanimated corpse. Grayish hue to his skin and just plain dead. Horrifying.
When fighters go on and on like this I wonder if they have self esteem issues. They feel like if they stopped fighting they stop being important or worthy of peoples attention. Something is the matter because why countinue to get punched in the teeth if you are finacialy stable?
Take a load off, Gatti.

I hope not...a loss to gomez which actually isn't impossible only takes away from his legacy...
Re: Gatti: "Next fight not my last, I'm after another World Title!"
gatti mate . please retire
Re: Gatti: "Next fight not my last, I'm after another World Title!"
I think Gatti will easily win but not sure how because Gomez does appear to be able to take quite alot of punishment,
come on guys, Gomez has the style of a banger, as in he is bad technically , but at W 16 (7 ko's) he obviously doesn't have much power, Gatti lost to Baldomir sure, but Baldomir is World class.

wow. surely if gatti was to fight JCC jr that would be made at 140? gatti couldnt make 140 anymore and be very affective. it would take it out of him way to much to make that i think.

I think Baldo is on the tier below world class, but is still a quality fighter. I feel Gatti will win his next fight, but with all the competition at 147lbs. I doubt he'll be a world champ again. If he could somehow get down to 140lbs, he'd have a shot, because of the wide range of shite champions in that division.

Actually he's not a gray as I remembered. Still, you wouldn't guess that he's alive either.
Come to think of it Cintron doesn't look to smokin' himself so maybe it's the lighting.

You should not find men "Smokin" under any circumstances unless they are actually on fire, otherwise you are GAY.
Gatti ain't foolin anyone, I do not see how the fuk he can possibly win a world title at 147. But I do think he will beat Gomez.
