Im not talking when tyson first won the HW tittle, but say just before Tyson fought Lewis who would of won. I heard RJJ calling out Tyson around that time saying he wanted it to be his last fight who wins??? Could RJJ take his power, could Tyson hndle his footwork and speed?
Jones gets crushed.... He dosent have enough firepower to deter an Iron Chinned Tyson.
Tyson would still KO Jones if the ight was tomorrow - Dodgy chin versus awesome power.
Jones would end up with his head weaved into the canvas probably in 1st round ;)

The Tyson that fought Lewis would have mauled him still. No way to avoid Tysons power for 12 rounds. Lewis had all the advantages over Tyson. Jones wouldnt have had such benefits in weight, power, and effective jab work....
One thing you fail to realise is that by that point Tyson loaded up on all of his shots still looking for a one punch knockout and didn't have the craft nor the style he had in his youth. Jones would make him miss and make him pay. If Francois botha can avoid Tyson's power for as long as he did several years earlier, I don't see how Roy Jones couldn't.
The difference in size was too much. Tyson would be able to impose himself on Jones. Jones could be evasive, yes, but Tyson is not Ruiz. Tyson is throwing bombs and once one of those is landing....a launchpad would be neccessary....Quote:

I respect your opinion but choose to disagree. Spinks and Taylor is the wrong comparison because Taylor doesnt have proven power nor seemingly any aggression in recent fights. Plus the difference is only a weight division of only a few pounds. Jones at heavyweight fought John Ruiz and Ruiz only. If he felt comfortable he would have stayed for a few high pay days. Tyson is nothing like John Ruiz. Tyson flattened Ettiene in a round. Even an aged Tyson did have power and could connect.Quote:

No disrespect to anyone, but the only thing tyson could impose himself on at the time of the lewis fight was hookers and call girls. Tyson was long past his best and was so one dimensional at that point, it was a shame to even see him in the ring like that. Tyson never encountered speed like that in his life. He would be beyond confused. To say tyson flattened etienne doesnt really make for a compelling arguement. Etienne was a better criminal than he was a boxer... even then .. the way he fought in the ring was well... criminal. Tyson flattened a guy who got knocked down like 8(?) times by fres oquendo.
Jones called out tyson for a reason. He new tyson could never catch him and he knew he could blister tyson with shots all day and have enough time to pack a bag and leave before Tyson could chuck one of those bombs in return. Worse comes to worse, he'd clinch him and hang on for dear life like holyfield did till the ref separated em. At which point he would resume picking at mike from the outside and pile on the punishment. Eventually mike would give up and not leave his corner, or the fight would be stopped or Mike would get Dq'd for fouling jones into "bolivian".
Jones would win if it was the badly faded Tyson remember Jones still had same sort of speed and power.
