on closing the distance. he fires them quick and his footspeed is very good. i think he throws the most jabs of todays fighters. and i feel he could possibly get a win 12 round win. i feel if he uses his jab he could possibly stop hattons attack.

I think this makes for a great fight to be honest, Pauli has certainly put himself out there as the main threat to Hatton at 140 lb.
At 140 it's the biggest fight for Hatton right now.
paulie would give hatton trouble on the outside but hatton would eventually get inside and do damage. hatton would win a decision.
Hatton would smash the granny out of him. End of story.

I think more so than his jab, Malignaggi's (goddamn I hate trying to spell that right) footwork as well as his foot and handspeed would give Hatton trouble. But if Hatton can land that left hook to the body or even just work the body enough to slow Malignaggi down he can stop him.
Well let's see, Hatton has faster hands than most at 140 and for a defensive fighter Paulie gets hit a BUNCH. I see Hatton blasting Malignaggi for 10-12 rounds....Paulie is tough but he doesn't have it in him to beat a guy like Hatton.
i think Hatton would bully Paulie. Paulie defense and handspeed has always been overrated to me. mainly overrated by paulie himself.

It would be big in England but I think perhaps bigger at Madison Square Garden due to the clash of fans, because Ricky would bring his boys I am sure
Hatton's comeback? I think his next fight in the UK would be in the City of Manchester stadium and he'd sell it out no problem, even if it was Malignaggi, who is a great fighter and clearly the 2nd best guy in the division, all he would bring to the table is himself as a credible opponent, which would only invite more Hatton fans through the gate .Quote:

Without the threat of power coming back at him, Hatton would wade in on Malignaggi more so than he has on other opponents. His mauling and clinching style would wear down Mag..... er.... Paulie, and eventually result in a late stoppage. If not, a clear UD.
Hatton is far too agressive for Paulie.
Hatton would probably beat Paulie in a more brutal fashion than Cotto did.
Paulie likes to hold on the inside and he plays right into Hatton's game plan to the T.
The only way Paulie could beat Hatton is if Eddie Cotton is the ref.
The sad thing about the N'Dou fight was that it was Paulie who was doing all of the holding once the fighters were on the inside. Paulie benefited from this. Like N'Dou said, if Paulie has the ref Eddie Cotton in all of his fights, he can beat anyone.
Why all refs don't use the same rule book, is beyond me.
People complain that Ricky does too much holding and hugging. Castillo did his fair share of holding and hugging.
Every fighter has his little cheat cheat and works it to their advantage.
Like williams says: "Do what ever it takes to win."
No fighter is innocent of using little dirty tricks to win.

Anyway, he doesn't have enough to beat Hatton. Like Lyle said, he really gets hit a bit too much for a fighter with his style. He could win some rounds with hand and foot speed but he's not beating Hatton IMO, either a clear decision or a late stoppage.
It really wouldn't be a fair fight in the UK....Paulie has 6 KO's....6!
Paulie needs the option of winning by decision and he'd get it in NYC it would make for a great atmosphere and it would be a bigger fight here rather than just "another Hatton fight" in England....and I don't mean any disrespect but England should let the Malignaggi fight happen in Madison Square Garden and wait for the BIG fights to go to England....having a Hatton-De la Hoya fight in Manchester would be HUGE and I am sure ODH would bring some fans over there.
